I have to say when we started watching this I saw where the low review came from ( lol-there are only two here at the time). We persevered because we thought how much badder can this be? It quickly became apparent this was not a mystery drama but a black comedy and it suddenly was so much more enjoyable.
Glad we stuck it out, very entertaining.

I have to admit that when we first started watching the show we felt the same as the people who gave this a one star. As one reviewer lamented-they tell you who dunnit right at the beginning. We persevered however and found there was a reason they took the "mystery"out of the mystery is because it allows you to focus on the "never saw it coming" that follows. This is not the mystery thriller that unfortunately the write up leads one to believe, but rather a dark comedy that you quickly realize once you get past Eric's part in the movie. This was so much more enjoyable once we realized this was just a crazy wild ride of how things can go so terribly wrong. "Nuff said, try it you just might like it.
For the record, we are movie watchers who have been around since the 50's, don't go in for dead pool, zombies and all that stuff that passes for entertainment these days. This was clearly a low budget movie, but we found it entertaining
terrible acting/stupid characters

Don't waste your time!
The acting was beyond awful. The characters were ALL completely unlikable (even Eric Roberts' character and I am a fan of his - though he hasn't had a decent role in years...).
The only character that earned the teeniest tiniest bit of empathy was the daughter.
The other reviewer must be a rabid fan of the author, because the story was not thought through very well and the characters were just flat out stupid.
I'd rate this a 0 if I had the option

Please don't waste your time. I was intrigued for the first bit and I simply ignored the medicore acting and subpar script. After continuing you realize that you are literally given all of the information (you're told who kills who and you see what happens very early on) There is literally no mystery or plot to this movie.. I began to wonder why I was still watching it and what the purpose of it was since we knew everything.
Needless to say, overall, awful.. I've never written a review before and this one made me.
Expected Film Noir. Got Comedy

Believe in psychics. Don't believe in psychics. That's not important with this movie. She's a fake and makes not bones about it. As a result, I don't care much about the main character, although her acting wasn't as bad as the rest of the cast. They may have been able to deliver better performances if they were told whether they were making an absurd comedy or a psychological thriller. Even the background music didn't fit. Either way, they missed the mark completely.
The script was ludicrous. For example, a seasoned detective spills the whole investigation to a key "person of interest" and takes her to the crime scene with the body still lying there!
I gave it one star for at least making an effort and another for reminding me of the old trick of hiding money at the bottom of frozen leftovers.

bad psychic

Keisha Ceylon (Emily Hampshire) is a fake psychic. Money is tight and she has to do a con with a teen runaway. She has a son and a bad boyfriend. The news is reporting a missing woman. Her husband Wendell Garfield (Eric Roberts) and her daughter Melissa (Katie Boland) are pleading for her return but they're hiding a secret. Keisha sees a new opportunity.
Keisha could be smarter. I figure she would play up her psychic abilities to the cop. That's the cinematic move. The boyfriend is even dumber. He must be the stupidest person alive. The cop isn't that smart either. There is no way she would bring Keisha into the crime scene. This turns from a crime drama into an almost screwball comedy. At a certain point, one must submit to the stupidity of these characters. Then it stops short. The movie is literally short. The ending feels rushed and would help with one more scene. I don't see the assumed motive behind the crime. I like the premise and the start but the plot takes a couple of bad turns.

As a fairly big Emily Hampshire fan sometimes the movies she has been in are subpar and thats nothing to do with her acting ability, it's the plot or the editing. Actors can only do so much with the material they have. Never saw it coming was unexpectedly good. I really enjoyed it. I had only seen the trailer as I don't like to know to much before watching a film. I thought all the acting was really good, the plot was great, the script was also really good. A thriller with some comedy elements is always a good time to me. I don't know what these other reviewers saw but it definitely wasn't what I saw. An enjoyable watch and a recommended watch from me.
