I am currently watching all the old Disney channel original movies in order and it's Zenon's turn! In 1999 when this movie came out I was also a young teenager, but I'm not sure I ever saw this movie. Nothing about it felt especially memorable anyway. At first I was thinking this might be kind of like a Star Trek for kids, but nope!
I thought the acting was mostly fine and the young spunky kids were not terribly annoying. The little love stories were sweet. Overall storyline is meh. Harsh punishment from the parents, geeeeesh!
Some of the fish out of water stuff, bullying, and shenanigans felt a little forced and/or silly. I don't feel like the costumes/hair aged super well. It's supposed to be the future, but it feels very 90's. Also, Chelsea Clinton is president? That's so random!! Oh and I almost forgot!! All the future language stuff is annoying MAJOR! They kinda almost got viral right though...
If I were a kid watching this, I'd maybe give it a 7/10, but rated for me today I have to go with a 5/10. I have to say, I miss being crazy about boy bands!
