The Triangle (2005)

The biggest thing this miniseries has going for it is the cast. They're good actors, so when the dialogue and action drifts towards the abyss, as it frequently does, they save it from tipping over edge.

The premise is standard Bermuda Triangle fare. A shipping magnate offers four strangers five million dollars each to find out what happened to his ships after they mysteriously disappeared. We're told his first, second, third and so on choices turned him down, so he's scraping the bottom of the barrel with this lot. Doesn't exactly engender confidence in them. Naturally they immediately accept his all or nothing, take it or leave it offer.

Next thing you know they're in a decommissioned Russian submarine because reasons. They have strange visions and supernatural encounters, but nothing they consider interesting enough to investigate. These people were apparently at the bottom of the list for valid reasons.

There's some family drama filler but nothing that contributes or detracts from the primary plot.

Six stars for the actors. Zero stars for the nausea inducing constant-motion camera work. Six stars.
