Effective feel-good movie

As a 7th installment in an anthology series, One wish is the very first film to lean completely on the drama genre. Thankfully, Ly Hai showed he's not an amateurish singer-turn-director with his continued improvement, this time with a heartfelt plot, effective storytelling, strong cast and good overall cinematography. The director managed to cramp five different stories into an 130-minute-long runtime without it ever feeling lengthy or incoherent. That being said, family drama is plentiful in Vietnam's primetime tv scene, so it is not so refreshing to see; the overuse of cheap laughs sometimes felt out of place, the very simple score that feels like it was made for kids; and of course, the very bad CGI.

Overall I'd recommend this movie to someone looking for a simple, family night watch that most definitely makes you teary by the end.

Meaningful and poignant content

Warning: Spoilers
After watching the movie, I highly evaluate his poignant and meaningful content about Hai - a widow old mom. She was a everlasting flowers seller. Once upon a time, she got her leg broken by a motorcycle. Hence, her sons and daughters have to take turns taking care of their mother. Interestingly, each time Hai comes to her sons daughters' household, she silently bonds their families more closely, ... Finally, Hai can find here life purpose despite being too old.

However, the flow of story is quite easy to recognize. It is not puzzled, but it still contains plot twist. Granted, it is perfect to watch with family.
