wtfff absolute GEM of a documentary
6 July 2023
Okkkkk, so I am officially a dude who is " Australian"...I was born here, and raised here all my life, to parents who emigrated from Macedonia and Greece. My first language growing up was both Greek and Macedonian, and English became the third language I learnt. I consider myself Aussie, 100 %, but my heart is Greek. Howeverrrrr..... i have always been aware of the history of Australia. I have ALWAYS been PRO aboriginal in all matters/ This documentary was the best Ive ever watched. This movie made me remind myself.... where my country truly came from. First nations. And it showed me the dsgsusting manner how white people treated the first nations.

I will not rate this series....

I refuse to give poor ratings to TV series or programme, however if a Series or movie impresses me, I am more than happy to give credit where credit/merit is due. I wanted to rate this programme below 5, however I had to remind myself as a Greek Australian dude, perhaps I could not connect with this series because I am not Korean. I have seen quite a few Korean productions on netflix in the last two years. However, as much as I was highly anticipating this show, I had to sadly let it go after just two episodes. It is quite common in Australian/UK/USA productions that episodes run between 30-50 minutes per episode, so if the first episode or two don't impress oneself, one is willing to give the series another go for a few more episodes. But when the drama consists of 70minute episodes, and you realise you have been there, done that, sadly interest is lost. I just couldn't invest another 70 minutes of my time because... In just two episodes... we have two different characters bumping into each other consistently in a city of ten million people... we have the all cliched orphaned main characters, the leading female character slips and falls into the arms of the lead male...we have the two leads staring into the ocean alone, whilst thinking to themselves out loud...which, really, let's face it, noone does this ever in real life... and we have flashback that the leading two characters have met before, albeit thirty years ago as children. All these scenarios have been exhausted in so many other drama's. Upon realising this, I sadly decided this was going to be yet another drama following a somewhat popular recipe or formula.

Proud to be a Greek

Wow. As an Australian (born from Greek parents), it is rare for me to come across many modern Greek films online. The film was brilliantly intense. The acting from both gentlemen, and the Greek/German mother... the chemistry between the two leads... the cinematography were all sublime. I am in awe at how the diplomatic manner in which this story was told to us. A Masterpiece.

To the Lake (I) (2019–2022)

Wow.

Now this is what The Walking Dead should have been. As a huge fan of the initial Walking Dead ( specifically the first half of its duration) this is what I was wanted from the second half of the American version. The USA version lost it's way for me and since then I have watched South Korea's Kingdom (which is magnificent) and now this Russian Tv series. This russian gem is a must watch. The cinematography is breathtaking. The acting ...surreal. The emotional elements of this show blew me away. Each episode was constructed and directed with precision. I can only assume that the rating for this show is not higher (on Imdb at least) because of the lack of zombie action/gore? However for those wanting a realistic depiction of what life would truly be like if such a situation like this arises then this is the perfect epitome. One of the most brilliant series I have ever watched.

Im somewhat sitting on the fence on this series
1 July 2020
I rarely write reviews on imdb. I do though, frequently suggest to my friends on social media platforms of what tv series I have watched and which ones I have enjoyed and not enjoyed. I am a Greek guy living in Australia...so to come across this tv series from South Korea is quite a dramatic change to the usual tv series I would normally watch. I have to admit, up and front, the two lead characters in this series had the most perfect chemistry I have probably ever seen on screen. It was undeniable. They truely resonated together. They formed the charm of this series. I can not think of any other tv series couple who shared such chemistry and I have watched many international tv series. However, despite the altruistic traits of the leading male character and his equally loveable on screen companion, I found myself thinking that this series dragged a little too long. In retrospect, this fine love affair/story could have been potrayed in say, 4 episodes. Unlike other K dramas like Crash Landing On You or Vagabond, this series seemed to just drag on far too long. And the soundtrack was just pure appalling. No effort at all regarding the music to this series. The same two songs were played over and over which made me think what was the director thinking??

Love My Way (2004–2007)

Most outstanding Australian drama ever
15 October 2009
'Love My Way' is, by far, Australia's most distinguished and outstanding drama ever to hit our screens. I cant think of any other time I have watched an Australian series, that has left me in awe and feel so many emotions. The scenery is impressive, the background in each scene is astonishing. The acting is phenomenal. The issues raised are real, absolute and heartfelt. Each character you will learn to either love or hate, but ultimately, you will care for them. When I think of 'THAT' episode, (for those of you who have seen it, you will know which one Im referring to), the last twenty minutes of that episode is arguably the finest and most convincing acting I've ever seen on an TV series or film. The reactions of the characters to the incident will forever be embittered in my memory. I don't think we'll ever see such a perfectly written drama ever again from Australia.

an incredible experience

I have recommend this film to everyone at my work, my family , friends etc etc. This film is FANTASTIC. If you enjoy watching a film that would leave you afterward questioning yourself, your values, your attitude to others, then you have to watch this film.I walked away from this film, and couldn't sleep easily at night thinking about it.It made me question my altruism to others, and it made me realise the faults and judgements I make upon others.A must-see film, tremendous performances from all actors, actresses and simple, effortless cinematography makes this film one to remember for a long, long time. Its hard to fathom why films like American Beauty,Crash, etc etc win all the Oscars and Awards, when an independent film like this makes so much more impact to its audience.
