Every Time I Die (2019)
Great Story Without Distracting CGI and Special Effects.
This film was thought provoking and refreshingly unexpected. The story is there in it's entirety, no missing pieces that a larger budget would have helped create. I don't get people's hang up on the whole, 'low budget' fixation. Some of my favourite films have none of the big budget distrations that only add incredulity to the story.
Explained: The Next Pandemic (2019)
Watching in May 2020
Sitting in self isolation, six months after the films release, I can confirm, normal life changed beyond recognition. People (governments) were never going to take a pandemic seriously until it happened; It was always going to be someone else's problem and unlikely to happen on their watch. Time will tell what the full effect of CoViD19 had on the world's population and how well we prepare for the next one.
DEFCON-4 (1985)
An Excellent 'B' Movie
800 votes at the time of writing and 4/10? C'mon, this film deserves better than this.
If you haven't seen it,please do. There are no fancy effects, expensive sets and highly paid actors, but there is an entertaining story that will draw you in and have you routing for the 'good guys'.
Why pulp films, that have ridiculous things like helicopters flying "impossibly" through tunnels, get such high scores whilst films like this are left going dusty on the shelf I will never know.
It's not going to win any awards, but it is well worth a watch.

The Local Stigmatic (1990)
Two of the worst English accents in film
As an Englishman, the fake English accents really grate inside and distract from what otherwise might be a good film. The main characters would have been well served spending some time in London to learn the inflexions of a proper London accent - I might then have been able to have forgiven the extras for their errors if the main characters had actually done their homework. This definitely rates as one of the worst Al Pacino performances I have seen: All the pronunciations were wrong; Frost, Holborn & Cartland are just a few to give an example without even touching the swear words. It's a good job they didn't have something tricky to say that ended in 'shire' for example.
I would love to see someone redo this properly.
