Wishbone (1995–1998)
An Excellent Educational Children's Show
7 September 2003
I remember watching this when I was younger and loving it. I first came across it when I was flicking through the channels and seeing a talking dog. At that age, I was obsessed with dogs and a talking one was even better. That's when I became hooked.

Wishbone is the story of a very imaginative Jack Russel terrier named . . . Wishbone who lives with his owners, Joe and his mother Karen Talbot. Wishbone loves literature and in each episode, he imagines himself in a classic novel/play/myth while there is a modern day version of it is going on in real life.

The good part about this show was that when I came home from school every day is was on at like 4:30 pm. Also, I always wondered why Joe's father was never around. It's good to see a single parent house hold on a children's show. And, recently, I found out that my favorite "Daily Show" correspondent Mo Rocca (love of my life) was a writer on this show and that Amy Acker (now Fred on "Angel", I love that show) worked on here. Pretty interesting.

If you have young kids between the ages 6-12, I definatly recommend this show. They won't be disappointed.

Best Documentary EVA!
28 July 2003
I remember watching this on New Years Eve 2002 since it was early in the morning and I was bored. I was instantly hooked.

I was born in '88 and I never knew much about the decade. I knew some films, and it was interesting to hear the comments of these very funny people.

My favorites were Michael Ian Black, Hal Sparks, and the love of my life, Mo Rocca. My only problem with the show was that there wasn't enough Mo. But Hal was there to make things right.

An hour wasn't enough to cover each year. I needed more! I can tell that this mini-series will definatley become a cult hit. I can't wait for "I Love the 70s"

Meghan's rating: ***1/2 out of **** (For lack of Mo Rocca)

Better than Braveheart
19 February 2003
No matter how many times I watch this movie, it never gets old. In my opinion, this was better than Braveheart, which was an excellent film. Gibson was fabulous. And Jason Issacs! He plays good miserable b******s (if Harry Potter fans recall, he was Lucius Malfoy...another miserable b******d). Oh, and that little girl was just adorable! Mel Gibson seems to be in a lot of movies with the cutest little girls (i.e. That girl, Bo, in Signs was SOO adorable!!!) You people MUST see this movie. My rating: *** 1/2 stars out of ****

BEST DISNEY FLICK TO THIS DAY
29 January 2003
When I was younger, I remember watching this movie over and over again. Not only does it have clever, catchy songs (which I sing even to this day), but it has a good plot with colorful characters. I love this movie so much that in my art class, I'm doing a painting of Belle.

It takes place in a small French town, where Belle, a beautiful but "strange" (considered by the locals), lives with her father/inventor, who is considered crazy by the town. She loves reading, which it unusual to the town folk. Gaston, the town hero who is also a jerk, is determined to make Belle his wife, though she is in no way interested in him. One day, while lost in the woods, her father runs into an enchanted castle, where a prince-turned-beast now conceals himself and takes him [Belle's father] prisoner. Belle finds out about this and goes to his rescue, only to trade herself for her father's freedom. While being the Beast's prisoner, she and the former prince start to fall in love, much to the pleasure of the enchanted objects/servants.

Best Religious Movie Since "Life of Brian"
5 November 2002
In my opinion, this is Kevin Smith's funniest and smartest comedy to date. I'm Catholic and I find this in no way blasphemous. It restored my faith! I enjoy going to church now!

Two outcasted angels, Bartleby (Affleck) and Loki (Damon)are sentenced to spend the rest of eternity in a place worse than Hell (Wisconson!) when a certain Catholic church proclaims that whom ever steps through the arch of that church, their souls will be restored and will go to Heaven if they die. The two angels, who are determined to get back into Heaven, are desperate enough to try it. The only problem is that them going back into Heaven would show a flaw in God's (Alanis Morresate) plan and would erase all of existense. With God no where to be found, Metatron (Rickman) finds the last Scion (Fiorentino) who is working in an abortion clinic in Illinois. Others that help are the over looked 13th apostle Rufus (Rock), the stoner prophets Jay (Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith), and the stripper Muse Serendipity (Hayek).

The casting was great. Although Fiorentino's performance was a LITTLE weak, I still can't picture anyone else playing Bethany. Alan Rickman rocked, as he usually does. Chris Rock was hilarious as the p****d off apostle (he still didn't get his $12 that Jesus owes him). And there is a surprise ending that will put a smile on your face...at least, it did with me.

Meghan's rating: 9.9/10 *'s.

Mr. Deeds (2002)

OMG! You People NEED To See This Movie!
7 August 2002
I saw this movie on my birthday (which was the day it came out) & I loved it! I haven't laughed that hard since "Little Nicky" (in my opinion the BEST Adam Sandler movie to date). Even my mom laughed all through it & she HATES Adam Sandler.

Okay, this is the plot: When an aging billionare dies while climbing Mt. Everest, his employees start working overtime to find a relative since he died unmarried with no children. They come up with Longfellow Deeds who lives in a VERY small town somewhere in New Hampshire. When they go out to find him, they discover he's working in a pizza shop & writes greeting cards & has no interest with 40 Billion Dollars. But still, he goes with them to New York to claim his fortune. When the press gets wind of it, a tabloid t.v. show host puts Bebe Bennet in charge of finding out all she can about him. So she poses as Rose Dawson, a school nurse claiming she came from a small town. Deeds starts falling in love Pam/Bebe, & even brings her to the small town she claims she's from.

The funniest characters in the movie has to be Emilio & Crazy Eyes.

Crazy Eyes: Time heals all. Mr. Deeds: Really? Crazy Eyes: I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to that squirrel over there. (points to a mountain goat.)

And there is a twist ending you'll never see coming. Peace, I'm out.

Spaceballs (1987)

Holy Sh*t, Man!
7 August 2002
I rented this movie with my dad & was laughing from beginning to end! Dark Helmet's a p***er. That reminds me of a story: My brother has been playing baseball for awhile now. So everytime he went up to bat with that helmet on, my parents would always crack up laughing since he reminded them of Dark Helmet.

Clearly this is Mel Brooke's best film to date. Okay, "Spaceballs" takes place in another galaxy. The two planets mentioned in the movie are Planet Druidia, a peaceful planet, & Planet Spaceball, a violent planet whom the citizins have polluted the planet's air. So, the Spaceballs come up with a plan: They capture Planet Druidia's princess Vespa & hold her ransom for all of it's air supply. Simple really. Except for a few things: Princess Vespa ditched her wedding so her father hired a couple of space bums (who are in serious debt) to find her. When they do, Captain Lone Starr & Vespa start falling in love, although they don't wanna admit it.

There are some of the best one-liners in this movie. Like:

Dark Helmet: What's amatter Colonel Sandurz, CHICKEN?

Dark Helmet: Very impressive Lone Starr, to bad this isn't the wide world of sports!

President Skroob: How come no one told me my ass was so big!?
