Only Love (1998 TV Movie)

Tomei's so cute
18 November 1998
'Only Love' has been adapted to the big screen beautifully. It's very romantic as it should be and is supported by great casts.

Mathilda May, Rob Morrow and Tomei each plays their parts well. The exotic cinematography on places in Europe and Africa adds some romance to this already romantic story. What I like most of this film is Marisa Tomei. She's so cute in this motion picture. I wish I could see it in a bigger screen.

coolest film in 98

'Out of Sight' is cool, stylish and intelligent.

It's been a long time since I watch a crime-themed movie like this.I always get annoyed when the protagonist does something ridiculous and he can get away with it, which happens a lot in this kind of film. This doesn't happen in this film. For example in the beginning of the film, Jack Foley (Clooney's character)tried to be a smart-wise and rob a bank without any guns, knives or any preparation, he just use his head and his charisma. You may find it pretty smart but you wouldn't believe he can just get away like that don't you? Well, 'Out of sight' regards us as intelligent enough so Jack gets caught. I started to like the movie and like it even more when Karen Sisco ( Lopez) comes on screen. The relationship between Sisco and Foley is very sexy although there's not much physical contact between them. The pace of the film, the music, the freeze-shots, all of them make this film to be very stylish. The screenplay is both funny and intelligent. I think the whole thing's been done thoughtfully. I give it two thumbs up.

Forrest Gump (1994)

you'll like it

Forrest Gump could have been better, but it's good enough.

In the first half hour I find the screenplay's a bit weak but then I get carried away by Zemeckis' creativity in bringing historical icons into Gump's simplicity. The music and the background are fantastic but somehow the acting from the casts don't impress me as much as they should. Nevertheless, overall it's the feel-good film of the year.

it's a good bad movie

Well, this is a bad movie but it's pretty fun to watch. A sex maniac professor makes a serum that enables him to be invisible. From this you should be able to know the rest of the story. There are girls chasing, screaming girls, beaten up boyfriends, and high school naughtiness. It's fun.

it's rich and beautiful

'My life as a dog' is such a delightful movie to watch and it will suit everybody.

I first knew Lasse Hallstrom through 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'. Now after I saw 'My life as a dog', I find that Hallstrom is really great in making films about life. Both films are about daily dramas on ordinary people's lives but 'My life as a dog is more fun to watch than the great but depressing 'What's eating Gilbert Grape'

'My life as a dog' focuses very well on the joy and sadness of a growing boy, Ingemar. It's set in the beautiful Sweden in 1959. Ingemar has to live in different places and meet different people because of his ill mom. In his being away from home, he gets a lot of experience. In dealing with his experiences, he tells us about what he thinks about life. Although the words come out from a boy's mouth, they actually teach all of us something.

Hallstrom intelligently bring small details to make this movie 'alive', rich and inspiringly funny. The casts are excellent. All the children in this film look natural and realistic. 'My life as a dog' is really delightful to watch.
