Under Paris, a shark thriller from genre regular Xavier Gens, is set to be released through the Netflix streaming service on June 5th – but producers Sébastien Auscher and Edouard Duprey have been hit with a parasitism lawsuit filed by filmmaker Vincent Dietschy, who claims that Under Paris resembles a project called Silure, which he began working on in 2011. According to Deadline, if a judge rules in favor of Dietschy at the initial hearing on June 14th, Netflix might have to remove Under Paris just days after its release, as Dietschy’s lawyer has requested that the release of the film be suspended while the parasitism lawsuit makes its way through the court system.
Dietschy says he registered Silure with France’s rights management body Sacd in 2012. Going by article 1240 of France’s Civil Code, parasitism is what it’s called when “one party follows in the footsteps of another party...

Playtime has boarded “Crossing Lines,” a Danish thriller by Baghdad-born first-time director Jahfar Muataz.
Currently filming, “Crossing Lines” revolves around a reformed criminal, Cairo, who enjoys his new life as a gang exit counselor. When his nephew Hamza disappears, Cairo discovers he had secretly joined his former gang. Despite his pledge to avoid violence, Cairo enlists his former underworld connections, growing frustrated with the police’s lack of action. His investigation leads him into Copenhagen’s criminal scene where his past instincts resurface.
The well-known cast is led by Afshin Firouzi (“Boundless”), Albert Arthur Amiryan (“Forhøret”), Charlotte Fich (“Borgen”).
“Jahfar’s script is a page turner,” said Nicolas Brigaud-Robert, co-ceo of Playtime. “This is exactly what you are looking for when you receive a project as an international sales company: something engaging, with a fresh tone, that can speak to people across borders,” he continued.

For its final season, Stranger Things has gone super-sized. Its episodes are longer, its storylines are multiple, its locations are further flung, and its cast has expanded beyond all reasonable measure. Even allowing for the usual body count replacement rate to fill in the gaps left by last season’s victims of the Upside Down, there are a lot of new faces.
To orient us through the new crowd, here’s an introduction to high school students Eddie, Chrissy, Jason, Argyle, Patrick, Angela, Vickie and their counsellor Ms Kelly; military types Dmitri and Lt. Colonel Sullivan; psychiatric hospital nurse Peter Ballard and resident and nurse Victor Creel, played by none other than A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Robert Englund. And that’s not even all of them…

In sealing a $2.2 billion deal to buy Endemol Shine, Banijay Group chairman Stephane Courbit realized a long-held dream to own the producer and distributor of such shows as “Big Brother” and “Peaky Blinders.” But will the merger also pave the way for fulfilling the ambitions of another French media magnate, Vivendi’s Vincent Bolloré?
Vivendi became a minority shareholder in Banijay in 2016 with a 26.2% stake and now owns a 32.9% share. The French media conglomerate will therefore be a significant stakeholder in the new Banijay-Endemol Shine entity, which, if the deal is approved by regulators, will be the world’s largest non-u.S. television producer-distributor, with an expected combined revenue of $3.3 billion in 2019.
Bolloré has long nurtured the ambition of turning Vivendi into an international powerhouse able to compete with U.S. studios. Its ultimately unsuccessful attempt to forge an alliance with Italy’s Mediaset underscored that drive. The question is...

They Boys Season 2 has been made official by Amazon, and is already adding newcomers to the cast.
The Boys unleashed an unapologetically ultraviolent response to the entertainment industry’s seemingly interminable array of live-action superhero fare with a TV series created by Supernatural and Timeless's Eric Kripke, adapting the bleak comic book series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. The result was a serial offering that's said to be one of the most-watched shows for the Amazon Prime Video platform.
Amazon was clearly privy to the fact that The Boys was something special even before it premiered, since the online retail monolith's streaming arm preemptively ordered a second season of the series back in July during Sdcc season.
Here's everything to know about The Boys Season 2!

It's been a long time coming (not really but doesn't it feel like it has been?).
On Arrow Season 7 Episode 5, we finally got the answer to the question, who is The Demon?
There have been a ton of theories. Some, like myself, thought it was going to be Stanley. Alas, that was not the case. Instead, it was someone Oliver knows very well.

It turns out Slabside Maximum Security Prison is a co-ed facility. #Progress. That might not be the case, but there was one woman locked inside Level 2, and she was the infamous Demon.
Her name? Talia al Ghul.
A couple of TV Fanatics guessed this one in the comments of my Arrow Season 7 Episode 3 review, but I didn't see it coming.
