Elsbeth’s first season got to be a whole new level of success for CBS, as the series’ high ratings eventually paved the way for a second installment to hit the network later this year.
Coming as some kind of spinoff to a 2009 political drama show The Good Wife, Elsbeth keeps its numerous fans on the hook in anticipation for more original characters appearing in the upcoming season, though for now this seemingly brilliant idea still meets some obstacles on its way to the show.
Following Elsbeth’s season 1 finale that tricked absolutely everyone with a cliffhanger that actually never made it to the episode, the series’ showrunner Jonathan Tolins revealed that the crew had always heard fans’ repeated demand to reintroduce The Good Wife’s main characters as guest stars in Elsbeth, but so far it hasn’t been yet decided whether something like this will happen in the upcoming season.

Elsbeth may follow a character who previously recurred on The Good Wife and The Good Fight, but there’s little connection to the previous two series. Sure, Cary Agos (who was played by Matt Czuchry) was mentioned in the series premiere, as someone who could come in and replace Elsbeth (Carrie Preston), but that was it. Could that change in Season 2? “People keep saying, are you going to have guest stars from The Good Wife? I mean, we’re in a different city. We have very little real estate, and it’s hard because the real money for guest stars usually goes to the murderer. And I don’t think Diane Lockhart [Christine Baranski] is going to kill anybody,” showrunner Jonathan Tolins told TV Insider. “I’m certainly open to it. I would love for it to happen if we can work it out somehow,” he continued. “I always think...

On May 23, the final episode of the first season of Elsbeth, a spin-off of The Good Wife about a lawyer who leaves her native Chicago for a solo adventure, was released. Elsbeth has a brilliant mind that allows her to look at things from an entirely different angle, and she clearly doesn't want to waste that on just being a lawyer. So she comes to New York at the invitation of the local mayor's office to help the police.
The main character is very similar to Peter Falk's character in the TV series Columbo: she can talk to suspects about abstract topics, quietly extract valuable information from them, and amaze them with non-trivial deductive powers that would make Sherlock Holmes jealous.

Leading Middle East network Mbc Group has ordered an Arabic redo of “The Good Wife” set in Egypt with Tunisian-Egyptian star Hend Sabri (“Finding Ola”) in the lead role. Sabri plays a woman who returns to the legal profession after her husband, who holds a prominent public position, becomes embroiled in scandal.
Licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, the Arabic “Good Wife” adaptation, which is titled “Moftaraq Toroq,” is produced by Dubai-based Charisma Group.
Sabri, who in Netflix Arabic original “Finding Ola” played a happy divorcee who embarks on a journey of self-discovery after her divorce, is a top Arab world draw.
Touted by Mbc in a statement as “ground-breaking milestone” in Egyptian long-form TV, the high-end Arabic “Good Wife” adaptation is set to launch on Mbc’s Shahid premium streamer on June 2.
A previous Indian adaptation of the multiple Emmy-winning CBS series titled “The Trial” launched on Disney+ Hotstar last year.

Well, we did it. We made it to the finale of Elsbeth, and all that's left to say is when will the next season be?!
A lot was done differently in Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 10, and it all made for a fantastic ending to an enjoyable season of murder hijinx.
As most viewers likely noticed from the start of the episode, the usually "howcatchem" show shifted gears to a genuine murder mystery.
It was undoubtedly a subtle misdirect to treat audiences, as the trailer promo didn't show who the killer was, and viewers were likely expecting a full rundown at the episode's start.
At least the most likely character from the episode trailer to be the killer was a mislead because Nadine was hilarious and likable.
I believe strongly in kindness and second chances. Also, in the healing power of the sun and certain textiles.
Nadine Permalink: I believe strongly in kindness and second chances.

“The Good Wife” introduced Carrie Preston‘s Elsbeth Tascioni back in 2010. She was so popular with fans that she also featured in the spin-off show “The Good Fight.” Now Preston and Elsbeth take center stage in the brand new spin-off “Elsbeth.”
CBS’ hit drama series follows Elsbeth as she carries out work as an unconventional attorney and helps the NYPD catch criminals with her astute observations. Preston was excellent in her guest role in “The Good Wife” but she is even better here as the main course, as critics have noted.
Ben Travers (Indie Wire) observed: “Preston knows the exact pitch at which to play Elsbeth. Never grating yet always pesky, her unrelenting positivity (and general relentlessness) would undoubtedly get old, fast, in real life. Cops and criminals alike are exhausted by her, but audiences can more easily appreciate her dogged demeanor because a) we know she’s on the right track,...

Even though Elsbeth has been officially renewed for a second season, and all fans of the quirky and chaotic investigator will see her again, that doesn't mean there won't be a long hiatus. Now, back to the normal television schedule, the second season of the show will premiere in the fall, at the beginning of the new 2024/25 season.

Alan Cumming isn’t much of a reality TV fan — so as host of Peacock’s “The Traitors,” he enjoys being a bit blind to the baggage that many of the contestants carry to the Scottish Highlands.
“When I go to do ‘The Traitors, I have a crash course in reality TV stars, and random people,” he tells Variety‘s Awards Circuit Podcast. “I don’t know who many of the people are. Because I juust don’t watch those shows. And actually I quite like it, just to meet the people on those their own terms — rather than that with all the history they bring.”
Cumming much prefers watching them plot and scheme inside the game of “The Traitors,” vs whatever it is they do on the “Real Housewives” and its ilk. “I think that the culture of these shows is very much about creating drama,” he says. “The structures are the same,...

Will “The Gilded Age” find Emmys gold?
After its sophomore season, HBO’s historical drama “The Gilded Age” has entered the Emmy race with up to 37 nominations, Variety can exclusively reveal. This includes outstanding drama series, 15 main cast members and the season finale “In Terms of Winning and Losing,” which will represent director Michael Engler and scribe Julian Fellowes in their submissions.
The central couple, Bertha and George Russell, played by Carrie Coon and Morgan Spector, are contenders in the lead acting categories. Coon, an Emmy nominee for the third season of the anthology crime series “Fargo” in 2017, has a solid chance of picking up her second nom, competing against contenders Anna Sawai, Jennifer Aniston and Emma Stone. Already proving to be a big year for the actress, she could find herself in the Oscar race later this year for her remarkable performance in Azazel Jacobs’ family drama “His Three Daughters,...

How do you define Evil — not the concept, but the TV show? When it debuted on CBS back in 2019, Evil was pitched as an offbeat procedural, following a team of paranormal investigators hired by the Catholic Church to confirm or debunk reports of demonic activity. It was set up initially as a monster-of-the-week series, spiked with the sharp wit and social commentary familiar to fans of writer/producers Michelle and Robert King’s The Good Wife and The Good Fight.
As it rolls into its fourth and final season (which will include four “bonus episodes” to close everything out), Evil remains a procedural… sort of. Ever since it moved to Paramount+ for Season 2, the show has gotten darker, crazier, and more complex, while retaining a basic episodic structure. The heroes still chase a new demon nearly each week — but now they’re also dealing with much more.

The finale is finally upon us! It's been a good season of sleuthing for the Chicago transplant turned unofficial homicide detective.
But all things, good or bad, meaning Elsbeth's functional floral fashion, must end.
Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 10 looks like a tricky one to figure out, though. The only clear thing is that a fashion photographer is murdered, possibly by way of a gunshot.
The promo left a lot to be desired in terms of clues. But as Elsbeth is a "howcatchem," all the pertinent details will be laid out within the first five minutes of the episode.
It's just not very clear who the killer might be, but if we're going by who was featured the most in the trailer and who was the most recognizable face, then it's likely Laura Benanti playing runway model Nadine.
I'm more inclined to believe she is the killer for a couple of reasons.

With the first season’s finale coming in already this week, Elsbeth has surely cemented its status as one of the CBS’ top shows in the upcoming years. Ever since it hit the network in February, the series has been a top-notch detective story that eventually received a pretty deserved renewal for yet another season.
Though the detective genre isn’t something uncommon on modern TV with all the diversity of versatile characters embarking on their proper investigations, there’s still something very unique that Elsbeth brings into the genre, and the series’ showrunner knows exactly what his brainchild’s zest is.
Initially introduced in a cameo role in the 2009 political drama show The Good Wife, Elsbeth’s eponymous character now comes up on the main stage proving that she’s far more than just an observer.
Portrayed by Carrie Preston, Elsbeth carries out her own investigations that are shown from quite a peculiar perspective,...

Since the character’s inception on the big screen, Bond girls were a staple in most James Bond adaptations, until Casino Royale, as Daniel Craig refrained from using this term. But before Craig took the 007 gig and became the definitive modern James Bond, we had Pierce Brosnan as the charming British spy.
But unlike most Bond girls during the ’60s and ’70s, who were limited to being eye candy with ridiculous names, in Brosnan’s films, they defied those stereotypes. This was apparent in the character of Jinx Johnson, played by Halle Berry, who was even considered for her own spin-off film.

As a spin-off from such hits as The Good Wife and The Good Fight, Elsbeth was set up for a successful start. However, it's the charm of lead actress Carrie Preston and the twisted mysteries she solves that keep people coming back for more. Though repetitive due to its formula, the show is highly entertaining and has kept many fans coming back for more.
While many viewers are hoping and praying for the second season so the show can have more creative freedom and add some variety to the stories, others are happy with what they're getting. Especially since Elsbeth isn't afraid to reference a show or two to make things more interesting for the most attentive fans.

Amateur sleuth shows used to be popular in the pre-csi era of television.
These series showcased detectives who were not police officers, were often quirky, and could best the cops at solving murders -- if they could get them to listen.
You're right if you think that sounds exactly like CBS' Elsbeth. Elsbeth has more in common with amateur sleuth series of the past than with the show it spun off from, The Good Wife.
Elsbeth is a modern take on classic shows like Columbo, Murder She Wrote, and Diagnosis Murder. Most shows it owes a debt to are no longer on television, but streaming services have given them new life.

There is nothing better than watching a light-hearted yet intriguing TV show after a long day at work, and that is exactly what Elsbeth offers its viewers. The show about the title character, a quirky yet brilliant lawyer who has the skills of a detective and solves the toughest cases, has already won the hearts of many.

You'd think that in an episode centered around a bar and its owner, Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 9 would have some sort of death by the drink, but in this episode, the murderer went with an oldie but a classic.
In "Sweet Justice," audiences meet Joe, the owner of an exclusive high-end bar who decides to take justice into his own hands by murdering one of his patron's bullies.
It would almost be sweet if his form of justice didn't involve homicide, oh, and killing the wrong woman.
Gracing the small screen this week for yet another familiar face is Arian Moayed.
Surprisingly, he did not already appear in The Good Wife or The Good Fight, but viewers might recognize him from Succession.
As for his character, anyone who frequents Netflix might notice some similarities between this Joe and another who also enjoys stalking women who have caught his eye in a little show called "You.

One of the best, and rarest, feelings one can experience as a TV viewer is to watch a show and get the distinct feeling that its creators are getting away with something. That they're pushing buttons that someone asked them to avoid. That they're crafting imagery that's going to haunt and unsettle. That they're using a medium commonly associated with comfort and passivity to infuriate, baffle, and intrigue.
And across its four seasons, "Evil" has always felt just like that. Its first season, which aired on CBS, was a "Hannibal"-sized middle finger to decency and typical television sensibilities (that should be read as high praise). Later seasons moved to Paramount+, where the streaming wild west allowed showrunners Robert and Michelle King to really let their freak flag fly. There’s nothing more exciting than when a new show meets your high expectations. But it's also very disappointing when the same show ends up being something worse that you have imagined it to be.
The new CBS series called Elsbeth had everyone excited to see the iconic character Elsbeth Tascioni, known from The Good Wife and The Good Fight, being a leading star of her very own TV series.
Elsbeth is a Columbo-like show, following the titular character on her journey to discover whoever committed the crime, although the fans already know who is responsible for that.
And while at first the viewers were captivated by the style of the show and were really interested to see Elsbeth solving all the cases in her own quirky style.
But it seems that it’s just getting too cringey and the fans are no longer interested in seeing the lead character solve the most obvious cases.

One thing that many people look for in TV series is an escape from the challenges of reality. Every person is surrounded by a lot of stress these days, so turning on the TV at the end of the day is the easiest way to forget about all the problems and get an easy endorphin or adrenaline rush without actually risking anything.
Of course, people who enjoy fantasy and the supernatural aren't looking for an ounce of realism in the shows they watch, they're much more interested in lore consistency and character design. Those who prefer shows that allude to real-life professionals or events, however, are divided. And CBS' new hit, Elsbeth, just goes to show that divide.
Is Elsbeth Based on Real Life?
Although the show is considered a spin-off of The Good Wife and The Good Fight, you don't even have to watch them to understand what Elsbeth is all about.

Some of the greatest comedic actors in Hollywood are known best for their un-shying and generous humor with Robin Williams standing on a pedestal above them all. No matter who the actor encountered, they were all left in an uplifted mood because of his ability to make anyone in the room laugh. No matter how serious the mood, Williams always had a way to bring back the smiles on people’s faces.

Although comedians are more used to making people laugh, there are rare instances when they too find themselves in a fit of laughter because of one reason or another. Making Williams laugh would be another feat of its own, one that many could have only dreamt of achieving. However, Dead Poets Society star Josh Charles found a way.

Who doesn’t like a lighthearted show with a goofy main character who is a little irritating but still extremely lovable? Well, we dare you to find at least one person who would say no to a series with a lead like that.
CBS’s new show Elsbeth premiered on the network in the end of February this year and is actually related to two other shows, The Good Wife and The Good Fight. So for many viewers, it was the main reason to even start watching the new show.
Elsbeth is a police procedural comedy-drama that follows the main character, Elsbeth Tascioni, who is a rather atypical lawyer who gives up her job and moves to New York to become a detective of sorts. She starts working with the NYPD and helping them solve cases.

Makeup design doesn’t always mean prosthetics or extremes — that’s why the Emmy Awards smartly single out contemporary makeup design as its own category. But too often, those more immediately arresting designs are the ones that get all the attention. Not anymore. Join IndieWire in celebrating the makeup artists creating subtle, character-specific work for contemporary shows.
Elsbeth Tascioni has been around for three series now. Carrie Preston introduced the most upbeat litigator of all time with the finesse of a drunken master on “The Good Wife” (winning an Emmy Award for her guest appearance) and reprised the role on the spinoff series “The Good Fight.” Now, the character gets her own CBS series with “Elsbeth,” from “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight” creators Michelle King and Robert King, in which her defense attorney acts as an oddball crime solver while acting as a legal observer for an NYPD consent decree.

More than a decade after winning a guest acting Emmy for her work as quirky lawyer Elsbeth Tascioni on CBS’s “The Good Wife,” Carrie Preston is now seeking lead category recognition for reprising the character on the same network’s “Elsbeth.” If she is included the upcoming Best Drama Actress lineup, she will make Emmys history as the first performer ever nominated as a lead for a winning dramatic guest role.
Preston was awarded the 2013 Best Drama Guest Actress Emmy for her seventh of 14 “Good Wife” appearances, which were spread over six seasons. After landing a second bid for that series in 2016, she showed up in five episodes of the Paramount+ spinoff “The Good Fight,” with her last appearance occurring one month before the series finale in November 2022. “Elsbeth” premiered this February and has already been renewed for a second season.

Like a dog with a bone, Elsbeth is on the case of a pilfered pooch like she has a bone to pick in Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 8.
Technically, it's the dog's owner that Elsbeth is looking into, but this episode is so crammed with canines that it's hard to focus on anything other than the adorable dogs.
However, at the center of "Artificial Genius" is Quinn, the CEO of a location-based crime alert app called Cerberus. Audiences who watched the Netflix show You will likely recognize Elizabeth Lail as the actress who portrayed Beck.
Elsbeth has solidified certain formulaic practices, such as having a familiar face as the murderer in each episode, but now we can add to that. Elizabeth Lail joins the list of continued actors who have already portrayed characters in The Good Wife universe.

CBS’ big hit police procedural drama show Elsbeth is wrapping up its first season run, but isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Coming as an unofficial The Good Wife’s spinoff, Elsbeth owes its renewal for yet another season to its compelling plot and some past connections to the 2009 political drama starring Julianna Margulies.
As the show still has its television run and keeps teasing the grand finale, Elsbeth’s main star opened up about one guest star that she would like to have on the show’s set. Fair to say that the actress’ desire coincides with the one of quite a lot of fans across the world.
Talking about the show’s finale at CBS’ fall schedule reveal party last week, Elsbeth Tascioni’s actress Carrie Preston revealed that “it would be really cool” to have Julianna Margulies as a guest star in the show’s next season.

Pedro Pascal has become a household name thanks to projects like Game of Thrones and The Last of Us. But how much has his net worth increased after becoming one of Hollywood’s top stars?
Pedro Pascal’s current net worth Pedro Pascal | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Pascal is currently worth $10 million. It was a fortune that, on the surface, he seemed to accumulate relatively quickly after his breakthrough Game of Thrones role. But his rise to success was a long and slow process.
He’d already been a presence in Hollywood in the 90s, having done bit parts in small shows like Buffy and The Good Wife. There was a point where Pascal’s good friend Sarah Paulson even paid him personally to keep his acting aspirations alive.
It’s unclear how much he earned during his brief time on Game of Thrones. But the...

It's 2024 and one of the best British television personalities, Steven Knight, is in business like never before! Yes, admittedly, his projects these days are not as critically acclaimed as Peaky Blinders, but they always boast a high level of production and, of course, an excellent cast, which has never been wrong with Knight's TV series.
Last year's All the Light We Cannot See delighted us with the talent of young actors like Louis Hofmann and Aria Mia Loberti, as well as Hollywood colossi Hugh Laurie and Mark Ruffalo, while this March the BBC released This Town, led by the excellent British cast of Levi Brown, Jordan Bolger, Ben Rose and Eve Austin.
And the star of the new series, which is now streaming on Hulu, is none other than Elisabeth Moss, along with other equally stellar cast members that we will talk about below. Although the show has failed to impress critics so far,...

Some celebrities have a big name that fans immediately recognize. Others have less of a reputation but just as much talent.
Josh Charles is a mildly successful actor with over forty credits in his portfolio. His career has spanned movies and TV series since the 1980s. While most of his work is lesser known, he's had a few breakthrough roles fans love.
Despite rarely being the main star, Charles has stayed relevant on screen, from his most known character in The Good Wife to his newest endeavor, FX's The Veil. Some of his earlier work should be on everyone's must-watch list.
Josh Charles started his acting career as a supporting character in the 1980s version of Hairspray. A year later, he scored his breakout role alongside Robin Williams -- one of the greatest actors of the time -- in Dead Poet's Society.

Halle Berry’s portrayal of Storm, the legendary X-Men character, is a testament to her versatility and talent as an actress. Berry not only brought the beloved comic book mutant to life but also left a lasting impact on fans worldwide through her performance in the X-Men movies from 2000-2014.
Halle Berry as the X-Men mutant Storm
However, despite being synonymous with the X-Men franchise, Halle Berry’s role in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past was significantly reduced. Although Berry was initially supposed to feature prominently in the 2014 sequel, things changed. Surprisingly, fans couldn’t blame the studio for it.

CBS has been reeling fans in with dramas for over 50 years now, and it doesn't look like the network has any plans to stop.
The network really has something for everybody in its repertoire, whether you're looking for someone quirky and spooky like The Twilight Zone or want a procedural with dramatic flair like NCIS.
There are decades of dramas to be accounted for, but we're going to focus on some of the more recent dramas on CBS.
However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't watch CBS classics like Murder, She Wrote, Gunsmoke, Dallas, The Twlight Zone, and more.
When you're not catching up on older CBS classics, here's what we recommend watching for a more modern setting.

It's been nearly six months since the end of the unprecedented 2023 Hollywood labour disputes, which sent shockwaves through the entire entertainment industry with the suspension or cancellation of many popular and not-so-popular movies and TV series. Even now, however, the film and television industries do not seem to have fully recovered, as evidenced by distorted TV schedules, the shortening or bisection of new seasons of scripted shows, and sudden cancellations and renewals.
The case of CBS is particularly telling. While the network's flagship series such as Blue Bloods and Young Sheldon are in their final seasons, other projects are being actively renewed. Recently, CBS reversed its decision to cancel S.W.A.T. due to high ratings and picked up the police procedural for another season. The Good Wife spin-off Elsbeth has also been renewed for a second season.

Among all the genres that exist today on TV, we can name only a few that keep attracting viewers with its every new show. One of them is definitely a detective drama or any sort of a police drama. But with the recent desire to present everything in dark colors, it seems that CBS’s new show is right what we needed today.
We are talking about Elsbeth, the new spinoff of a popular series The Good Wife, following one of its characters, the goofy Elsbeth Tascioni, brilliantly played by Carrie Preston. She moved to New York to observe her NYPD colleagues at work and maybe catch a criminal or two herself.
Of course, as the genre suggests, she ended up meddling in every possible case herself, immediately realizing who was the criminal and offering her help to detectives and being surprised when they politely (or not) declined the offer.

There is no show that everyone doesn't love, because every idea has its own audience. The hard part is finding it among the many cable TV viewers and capturing their attention. Elsbeth, a 2024 addition to the CBS schedule, managed to find its own audience and has already been renewed for a second season thanks to its performance.
However, just like any other show, it received a fair share of critical reviews, all pointing out the repetition in the way Elsbeth handles cases. Hopefully, armed with the feedback from the audience, the team behind the show will make it even more exciting in season 2.
Is Elsbeth Good?
The quirky character of Elsbeth Tascioni originated in the universe of The Good Wife and got so much attention that she got her own TV series. Portrayed by Carrie Preston, Elsbeth is the kind of character you'd want to hang out with after a long day at work.

Writing duo Michelle and Robert King have had a long winning streak. Back in 2009, the married couple debuted their first show together, the CBS legal drama The Good Wife. Over the course of its consistently excellent 7 seasons, the show was nominated for 43 Emmy Awards and 14 Golden Globes. Rolling Stone called it 'Network TV's Last Great Drama'.
The Good Wife went on to spawn The Good Fight and Elspeth, two spin-offs also written and created by Michelle and Robert King.
But the duo wanted to stretch out beyond the confines of the courtroom, so in 2019 they hit the airwaves with something totally different: a psychological mystery series about Catholicism, faith, the supernatural, and evil.

While Steven Spielberg had already done 15 short films by the time he was 18, George Lucas’ Thx 1138, which was screened at the University of California, blew his filmography out of the water. Although Spielberg was left a little envious of the Star Wars director’s work, it didn’t take them long to see eye to eye, eventually developing a decades-long friendship,
Since then, the two have remained pretty supportive of each other, and are responsible for pioneering the blockbuster landscape back in the ’70s. But while Lucas helped out the Jaws director on numerous occasions, things went a little south when Spielberg decided to follow in the sci-fi auteur’s footsteps for one of his most beloved gems.

When Evil Season 4 premieres in May, fans will be hoping for a resolution to a whole host of questions raised at the end of Evil Season 3.
While some will be answered at the outset, more questions will arise to intrigue us throughout the show's run.
As all good things must come to an end, we know that this will be the last outing of this crazy, mind-bending show we've come to love.
Most seasons have contained ten episodes, so it will be a treat to have four bonus episodes, which Robert and Michelle King are touting as a mini-season to finish out the story.
But how will it end? And with the news that Netflix will soon begin airing various seasons, would Evil be well-served by being "saved" by the streamer?

Like a much-needed lift, Elsbeth Season 1 Episode 6 brings things right back to what makes the show so fun.
After the tonal shift with the last episode, Elsbeth brought back the perfect amount of camp by bringing in the murderous Dr. Vanessa Holmes, played by the always talented and scene-stealing Gina Gershon.
From New Amsterdam as Jeanie Bloom to Chucky as herself, the actress's flawless face has graced the small screen many times in recent years.

Berry and Morgan collaborated for the first time in the sci-fi series Extant. The project saw Berry playing an astronaut returning to Earth after a year in space. And although Berry was used to being on the big screen, the show’s concept excited her too much to turn down.
In an interview with Collider, Berry asserted that her connection with her Extant character helped convince her to do the show.
“There were so many elements that drew me to it, but probably the first one was being a mother,” she said.

For any fan of the detective genre, CBS' Elsbeth is truly a breath of fresh air. If you, like us, are tired of grumpy and sarcastic leading detectives, Ms. Tascioni is here to save you, just you wait when she's finished checking out all those lovely New York City sites!
A spinoff for The Good Wife, Elsbeth works as a solo show for Carrie Preston's character for many reasons. It's light-hearted, it's exciting, it's fun even, and many fans are already comparing it to Columbo — a 1971 detective show that also never bothered to keep its secrets and entertained people just by showing them the main detective finding his way to the truth.
However, one particular detail about Elsbeth season 1 is starting to drive fans crazy. Watch out for heavy spoilers ahead!

The Veil is another example of why we are in the golden age of brilliant female characters on screen. These strong, smart, and cunning female characters own the screen and set them ablaze. It just so happens that many can be found on FX. A network that celebrates edgy and innovative storytelling, with great female roles at the series center.
Often, these roles subvert female stereotypes. You have Anna Sawai’s brilliant performance in Shōgun, one of the greatest roles in television history, who gives a thoughtful, sumptuous, and cunning performance. Then, last year, in A Murder at the End of the World, Emma Corrin brought to life one of the most complex characters on television in recent memory.
