"Tell me where she is!" Screen Media Films has released the official Us trailer for the indie action thriller titled Cold Blood, originally titled Cold Blood Legacy for its French release just last month. Cold Blood tells the story of Henry, a legendary hitman enjoying the isolation of his lakeside cabin deep within the vast wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. When the solitude of his well-earned retirement is shattered by the arrival of a young woman, the survivor of a snowmobile accident, Henry must decide whether to risk his own life to save hers. Starring Jean Reno as Henry, with Sarah Lind as Melody, plus a cast including Joe Anderson, David Gyasi, Ihor Ciszkewycz, François Guétary, and Samantha Bond. This looks like so many other retired hitman films, and reminds me of Daughter of the Wolf. Check out the footage below. Here's the official Us trailer (+ two official posters) for Frédéric Petitjean's Cold Blood,...

42, The Power Of Three, Dinosaurs On A Spaceship and more - the Doctor Who work to date of the show's next showrunner...
Who is Chris Chibnall? You might know him as the creator of Born & Bred, Law & Order: UK and Broadchurch amongst others, but as readers of this site, it's more likely that you know his scripts from Doctor Who and his tenure as head writer of Torchwood. On Friday, the BBC announced that Steven Moffat will be stepping down as the showrunner of Who after next year's tenth series (since its revival), to be replaced by Chibnall in 2018.
Over the weekend alone, there has already been a lot written and said in speculation about what the new show-runner, Doctor Who's third since Russell T. Davies combined the roles of head writer and executive producer when he revived the series in 2005. I, for one, welcome our...

The film version of Gillian Flynn’s cold-case chiller finds Theron’s unconvincingly downbeat massacre survivor facing her past
The success of Gillian Flynn’s mystery novel Gone Girl, filmed with Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck, has now given us this middling screen adaptation of her cold-case thriller Dark Places. There are moments of macabre horror here, and interesting nods to Capote’s In Cold Blood, as well as America’s satanic abuse scare and the Robin Hood Hills case. It also, incidentally, brings in a child molestation sub-plot accompanied by Joan Jett’s cover of Gary Glitter’s Do You Wanna Touch Me on the soundtrack: it’s difficult to tell if the provocation is deliberate. All in all, its contrivances might have been indulged more satisfyingly in a TV miniseries.
