Doctor Victor Von Doom is the greatest supervillain Marvel has. Not just because of his rocking green cloak and metal armor look, either, but because of his persona. Doom is a man so grandly arrogant he thinks the world can only be saved if he rules it, yet so petty he lets a misplaced grudge against Reed Richards rule him.
Doom's vanity is so supreme he hides his scarred face behind a mask; not because he fears the judgment of others, but because he can't bear to see an imperfection when he gazes in the mirror. And yet, when he makes his grandiloquent declarations (always in the third person), it's not empty pomposity. Statements like "Doctor Doom does not fail!" delivered free of irony could be laughable, but instead Doom's willful personality convinces you.
Doom has been the villain of countless Marvel books; he famously doesn't limit himself to sparring with only his chief nemeses,...

On April 15, the "No Limit" rapper, 32, celebrated what would have been his late mother's special day by releasing a new single, titled "Angel." The song comes five months after the artist's mother, Suzanne Olmstead, passed away in November 2021. In the poignant track's lyrics, G-Eazy describes longing to reunite with someone in his dreams, rapping, "When I lay down and I fall asleep / Hope I might see you in my dreams / But it's been a few months / Since I seen you in one of these." Derek Hough contracts breakthrough Covid less than a week before the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ finale
“Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough has contracted a breakthrough case of Covid-19.
“I have some news to share and I wanted you to hear it straight from me,” Hough said in an Instagram video on Tuesday. “Even though I’ve been fully vaccinated, I’ve just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of Covid. I just found out. I feel Ok. I feel strong. I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can.”
Hough’s diagnosis comes a day after the “Dancing” semifinals and six days before the live Season 30 finale on Nov. 22. It’s unclear how this will affect the finale. Hough, who is currently quarantining, missed the Week 3 show on Oct. 12 out of caution after potential exposure to the virus and did not judge virtually. He tested negative then and returned the following week.

Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough was forced to sit out of Monday night’s show due to a “potential Covid exposure,” host Tyra Banks announced during the broadcast.
“Although he’s fully vaccinated and tested negative, Derek will sit out tonight’s show out of an abundance of caution,” she added.
Hough will reportedly sit out all of Season 30’s third week. He is the third member of the DWTS team in recent memory to miss a show due to Covid. Last week, dancing partners Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke bowed out of a taping, after testing positive for the coronavirus, despite being fully vaccinated.
Hough’s possible exposure is impacting not only his judging duties, but also his Vegas show, Derek Hough: No Limit. While he has performances at the Venetian Las Vegas scheduled through November 21, his show set for this Sunday has been canceled, according to Ticketmaster.

Derek Hough is one of the busiest people on “Dancing with the Stars” Season 30 — just not necessarily on the show itself. The “Dancing” judge kicks off his Las Vegas residency, “Derek Hough: No Limit,” on Wednesday, Sept. 22, and yes, he wanted the two shows to coincide.
“I did. I wanted to have that synergy. It’s so much easier being a judge on the show than it is being a pro dancer in terms of the emotional, mental and physical demands,” Hough told TV Insider. “I think having [my] show and being a judge will complement each other. It’s a short flight between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.”
Hough will perform five nights a week — Wednesdays through Sundays — at The Venetian Resort. That schedule is nothing compared to the one he had in 2015 when he starred in “New York Spring Spectacular” at Radio City Music Hall while he was a...

Derek Hough is doing double duty this fall. He’ll be sitting at the judges’ table alongside the paddle-waving Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli for Dancing With the Stars‘ 30th season. And on Wednesday, September 22, the six-time mirrorball champion launches his Las Vegas residency with “Derek Hough: No Limit.” Earlier this month, Hough took home his third Emmy, winning in the category of Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming, for two dances he performed last season on DWTS. He’ll be hitting the floor again this season, too. TV Insider chatted with Hough about what else viewers might expect on DWTS, which celebrity he’d like to have had if he were competing as a pro, and more. If you’re going to be in Las Vegas area this fall, learn more about Hough’s show at the Venetian by clicking here. Congratulations on your Emmy.

The news of “Dancing with the Stars” featuring its first same-sex couple with JoJo Siwa and a female pro on the upcoming 30th season may have surprised some fans, but definitely not Derek Hough.
“For me, it’s not really a big surprise,” Hough said backstage at Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards after winning his third Best Choreography statuette (watch via our sister site Deadline). “I think, being in the U.K., living there for 10 years, all-girl competitions are very, very common for ballroom dancers. They’ve been doing it for many, many, many years, so for me, it’s just kinda like I’m very excited to see it. I think it’s going to be fantastic.”

BitTorrent is out to prove it’s not all about illegal downloads and questionable sharing ethics. The tech company is releasing its first original web series called Children of the Machine in fall 2015. Directed by Marco Weber (producer of The Thirteenth Floor and Unthinkable), Children of the Machine is a sci-fi series set in the year 2031. It chronicles the lives of a society where humans must work together to survive after androids start dominating. Children of the Machine will be available for download exclusively on BitTorrent. According to AdWeek, Weber chose to release his upcoming series on the data-sharing website because its male-dominated, 170+ million user base was exactly the type of audience he was looking for. "This is a science fiction show catered to the typical tech-savvy, male-dominated audience," Weber said. "We're not trying to launch a romantic comedy, so the concept of this show moved us toward BitTorrent."

Arrow returns as slick and strong as it was in season 2. Here's Caroline's review of the third season opener...
This review contains spoilers.
3.1 The Calm
We ended Arrow’s second season on a much happier note than after its first, but the title to this third season premiere was a pretty big indication that the characters wouldn’t stay safe and happy forever. The titular calm actually seems to refer to the time over the summer rather than the bulk of this episode, with Oliver’s desperate grab for normalcy and safety for those he loves once again proving just out of his reach.
Team Arrow is a well-oiled crime fighting machine at this point, with the addition of Roy as back-up hero, Laurel as their aid in the court room and Quentin still acting as their ‘friend on the force’ against doctors orders, all boosting their numbers significantly. Crime...

If Woody Allen can do it, perhaps so can Cate Blanchett as well. With an acting that has spanned over two decades, and working for such greats as Scorsese, Jarmusch, Wes Andreson, Iñárritu, Haynes, Fincher and Malick, Blanchett will get to yell the words “action” and “cut” for the book to film adaptation of The Dinner. The talented filmmaker Oren Moverman is adapting the project. ChubbCo’s Cotty Chubb (Gregor Jordan’s Unthinkable) is producing and Eva Maria Daniels (What Maisie Knew) and Olga Segura will be exec producing.
Gist: Based on the novel by Herman Koch, Deadline are tagging this as a psychological thriller which explores just how far some parents might go to protect their children.
Worth Noting: Blanchett is currently wearing the producers hat as exec. producer on the television series, “Cancer Vixen“.
Do We Care?: Sort of a reteaming with Moverman who gave the actress...

What a silly exercise Unthinkable is. It's just not very good! In fact, for a film centered on material of such gravity, it's more comical than it likely intended to be. I laughed. A lot. From Samuel L. Jackson's usual obnoxious screaming-man routine, to the film's preposterous setups, horrible, hackneyed dialogue, and ringing endorsement for torture, I'm not certain what exactly drew the film's impressive cast to the material. It's just absurd. Those who support the film will likely argue that it's a complex look at the torture debate, and what this country is willing to do to protect its citizens, but there's little up for discussion here. The film's moral stance...

Actor Martin Donovan has starred in films such as “Trust,” “Amateur,” “The Portrait of a Lady,” “The Opposite of Sex,” “Living Out Loud,” “Insomnia,” “The Sentinel,” “The Haunting in Connecticut” and “Unthinkable,” and TV series such as “Wonderland,” “Weeds” and “Boss.” His first film as a writer-director, the Tribeca Film hostage tragi-comedy “Collaborator,” in which he stars with David Morse, is available now via cable VOD, iTunes, Amazon and Vudu, and opens theatrically in New York July 6 and in L.A. The Avengers movie: Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America) The Avengers may be poised to break another box-office record. On its second Friday out, the Joss Whedon-directed superhero movie starring Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, among others, collected an estimated $29.lm at 4,349 theaters in North America. According to Box Office Mojo, that’s the biggest "second Friday" gross ever, surpassing Christopher Nolan / Christian Bale’s The Dark Knight, which took in $23.2m in summer 2008 (approximately $25.3 in 2012 dollars). Of course, The Avengers has the advantage of 3D surcharges, and it has been showing at many more higher-priced IMAX screens than The Dark Knight ever was. If 3D is factored in (a guesstimate of about 50% of Friday’s tickets sales — as was the case last weekend; 30% average surcharge) then The Avengers‘ box-office take (to reflect actual ticket sales) goes down to approx. $25m — or about the same level as the inflation-adjusted The Dark Knight.

Davis Films has released a first look new photo from Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, which features stars Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington. The film is being directed by Michael J. Bassett in his first American feature film as a helmer. Bassett garnered recent fame with his Solomon Kane adaptation back 2009. He is an extremely talented filmmaker which is why I am looking forward to his take on the Silent Hill universe.
The studio also announced that Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell have joined the cast of this 3D thriller, which is currently shooting in Toronto.

Sony Pictures is currently working on the sequel to the Silent Hill movie, and while they've been filming, they just issued this press release revealing that two new cast members were coming aboard the project, and they provided an all new official picture from the film.
I'm going to be 100% honest when I say, my interest for this film is almost nil. I didn't care for the first film, and I'm not sold on them pulling off this sequel...in 3D no less. I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but that still doesn't improve my attitude for this film. Either way, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Malcolm McDowell have both been confirmed for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Here's the press release:

I've said it before and I'll says it again: I enjoyed Christophe Gans' Silent Hill film. It was a film dripping in spooky atmospherics and general strangeness. When the sequel was first announced many would probably have dismissed it as a cheap cash-in on a known title. It's not like the original was a box office hit. Alas, it has its fans.

Well, we’ve got some delights in store for us this week! To start off this great list of films it’s:
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (dir. Mike Newell, 2010) – Brought to you by Disney, produced by the same people as Pirates of the Caribbean, directed by Newell and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben Kingsley to name a few. This is probably one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters of the year. Plus, being based on a video game and having witty dialogue, high action and special effects bringing the Swords and Sandals genre back to life, the film is going to soar to the top of the charts. Gyllenhaal transformed his body for the role and proved he can play almost any character, as long as he has an attractive co-star to work off of.

Yes, you read that right - Cmm has a J.O.B.!
Chad Michael Murray, who you may remember from his groundbreaking role in Hilary Duff's "A Cinderella Story," or as the broody dude with a million hairstyles in Alicia Keys' "Unthinkable" video, has booked the made-for-tv ABC Family movie "The Ex-Mas Carol," with Christina Milian and "Pretty Little Liars" star Ashley Benson.
Listen, we should say this: we love "One Tree Hill." Yes, it can be silly, and once included a scene where a stoned dog ate a human heart that was a murderer's last chance to live. (Or something like that.) However, it's got positive girl-power messages, strong characters, and the super-hot Austin Nichols in it, so we keep on watching.
Plus, we've invested seven years in this show, and darn it, we're going to keep on watching until Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) gets her happy ending.

Chicago – Samuel L. Jackson is an A-list actor stuck in the persona of a B-movie crowd-pleaser. His preference for schlock has made it difficult for viewers to take him seriously in roles that aren’t intended to be quoted by fanboys at Comic-Con. When his formidable interrogator in “Unthinkable” declares, “What I have to do, Agent Brody, is…unthinkable,” the line hits the exact wrong note of credibility-killing cheese that has marred Jackson’s career.
