A thick fog hung over Torun, Poland, this evening as the 31st edition of the city’s EnergaCamerimage Film Festival cruised into gear with a lengthy opening ceremony at the stylish Jordanki Culture Centre.

Family Guy has had its fair share of spooky-themed episodes.
Sometimes, a bit of a laugh could make a Halloween binge even more enjoyable, and that's where shows like Bob's Burgers and Family Guy come in.
Family Guy's spooky episodes are the perfect comedic-horror combination to add to your Halloween binge!
Honorable Mentions
Before we get into the actual spooky episodes, we need to include some honorable mentions.
These episodes are not directly scary, spooky, or Halloweeny, but this list would not be complete without them!
They range from genres to anthology episodes. Check them out!
Honorable Mention #3 "Quagmire's Quagmire" (Family Guy Season 12 Episode 3)
Quagmire's Quagmire acts only partially as a Halloween episode, which is why it's here in the Honorable Mentions.
Quagmire meets a woman whose sexual deviancy is as eclectic as his, but things don't turn out well for him.
The B story sets itself against the Griffins' preparation for Halloween.

HBO Max has a major job on its hands to justify its approximately $15 a month subscription fee, especially given the strong competition out there from established names like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Disney Plus faced a similar challenge last year in arriving onto an already-saturated streaming marketplace, but at least had the advantage of major series like The Mandalorian to promote. While HBO Max will eventually be home to the Snyder cut of Justice League, and has some originals for its first week of availability, the big draw right now is its enormous back-catalogue of movies.
Given the various corporate elements that are going into HBO Max, including the Warner Bros. library, owners AT&T will be hoping that the combination of brand recognition for HBO programming, and a deep bench of movies, will convince people to add a new subscription to their list. Do you like lists? Well, here’s a doozy. Below is everything coming to Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu and Amazon Prime in June 2020.

Welcome to the HBO Max era! WarnerMedia’s streaming giant arrived on May 27 and is absolutely bursting with Warner movies, TV shows, and other titles. But time waits for no man or streaming service and each new month HBO Max will be expected to bring new content to the table. Things get started in June 2020 with the first batch of HBO Max new releases.
To be clear, the majority of the original series coming to HBO Max actually belongs to HBO. Shows like I May Destroy You (June 7), Perry Mason (June 21), and I’ll Be Gone in the Dark (June 28) all belong to HBO…which now just happens to be a part of HBO Max. Confusing stuff, we know, but rest assured that if you have HBO Max you’ll get these shows…and if you only have HBO, you can go ahead and just get HBO Max for the same price anyway.

Halloween is on the horizon, and Netflix is getting ready by adding a host of new horror flicks to the streaming platform this October.
“The Shining” will be available starting Oct. 1. Later in the month, “Truth or Dare” with Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey, along with “The Haunting of Molly Hartley” and the Netflix original “The Haunting of Hill House” will be added. For non-horror fans, several stand-up comedy specials are joining the slate including Kevin Hart’s “Laugh at My Pain” and Adam Sandler’s “100% Fresh.”
A number of new show seasons are also premiering, including the second seasons of “Making a Murderer” and “Big Mouth,” as well as the third season of “Marvel’s Daredevil.” Netflix is also acquiring a host of other films such as “She’s Out of My League,” “The NeverEnding Story,” “V for Vendetta,” “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” and the “Blade” franchise.

Just in time for the Halloween movie-going season, Netflix is bringing out the big guns, offering up Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” as one of its marquee titles new to the service next month. Consider it a peace offering of sorts, as the rest of the month isn’t exactly bursting with other horror picks, beyond Mickey Liddell’s “The Haunting of Molly Hartley,” Jeff Wadlow’s “Truth or Dare,” and the decidedly creepy Dirty Harry feature “The Dead Pool.”

While October usually signals the arrival of all sorts of spooky, creepy, scary, and otherwise appropriately Halloween-themed films to both theaters and streaming services, this month’s batch of new titles on Netflix offers up a delightfully wide variety of choices that aren’t all tied to the year’s primary celebration of fear. Sure, those titles are there — from more mainstream chillers like “Cult of Chucky” and the new original “The Babysitter,” to more offbeat picks like the cannibal coming-of-age tale “Raw” and the seminal “Donnie Darko” — but this month’s incoming list has more than enough for movie fans who don’t want to shriek at their televisions.

A true story so pure that it almost grants its teller the permission to be sloppy, Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s “Megan Leavey” is a bit of a mess from the moment it starts, but it’s hard to completely dismiss any movie with a soul this strong, just as it would be hard to dismiss a disobedient puppy so long as its tail keeps wagging. An unlikely mutt that crossbreeds the cuteness of “Must Love Dogs” with the suspense of “The Hurt Locker,” “Megan Leavey” is the kind of movie that writes itself, and often feels as though it has.

John Cusack is a bit of a Hollywood oddity. There’s no pattern to the type of movie he will choose to do, so he’s always kept us on our toes. Sure, he’ll make a dumb action movie, but that will often afford him the chance to make a few smaller gambles later on. Up until the last few years he’s played the system very well, but recently his ethic appears to have, um, waned? A little?
Since the heady days of Say Anything and Sixteen Candles he’s come to represent a sort of slightly weird-looking, awkwardly charming, offbeat everyman that men aged 18-49 can look at and go 'me'” - which is fine. There’s a place for that, as...

I have only myself to blame. After checking out the trailer for The Bag Man (previously Motel) and noting the presence of John Cusack and Robert De Niro, two actors who have done terrific work in the past (I mean, De Niro has two Oscars on his mantelpiece, for chrissake), I started to get a little excited for this indie crime thriller. Perhaps it would maintain a cool, neo-noir vibe, or at least give Cusack and De Niro a chance to craft nasty, interesting characters. Alas, that quantum of expectation simply made it all the more agonizing for me to sit through one of the laziest, dopiest thrillers I’ve seen in years.
The film starts off with a boring set-up, as criminal Jack (Cusack) gets an assignment from his big-shot boss Dragna (De Niro): pick up a bag and hold it at a seedy motel until Dragna arrives.

Gary David Goldberg, the Emmy-winning creator of Family Ties and Spin City, died yesterday in Montecito, Calif. He was 68. Goldberg was an experienced TV writer of 1970s programs like Lou Grant, The Tony Randall Show, and The Bob Newhart Show when he built Family Ties in 1982 for NBC, basing the idealistic hippie parents played by Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter on himself and his wife, Dr. Diana Meehan. The show became an essential part of the network’s Thursday-night lineup — pairing with The Cosby Show for a time as TV’s two biggest shows — and made Michael J. Fox a huge star.

Gary David Goldberg, the Emmy-winning creator of "Family Ties," died on June 23 of brain cancer, Variety reported. He was 68.
Born in Brooklyn, Goldberg was raised in a home with a close, extended family that was headed by a strong matriarch, his grandmother. He was a huge sports fan and a wanderer who had a bit of trouble figuring out what he wanted to be when he grew up.

Goldberg died Sunday (June 23) at his home in Montecito, Calif., near Santa Barbara, after fighting brain cancer. He would have turned 69 years old on Tuesday.
Goldberg began his TV writing career in the mid-1970s with scripts for "The Bob Newhart Show," "Alice" and "Phyllis." He won his first Emmy in 1979 as a producer of "Lou Grant," which took home the award for best drama series that year.
