Unfortunately it doesn’t look like Jennifer Lopez will be touring this summer after all. And while that’s certainly a crime against Pride Month if not humanity itself, it at least frees up some extra time–and money–to watch some movies. And while 2024 looks to be a rather tepid year for blockbusters, there are still plenty of Don’t-Miss Indies out there ready to crawl into your eyes and ears.

While Henry Cavill awaits his destiny as Agent 007 in the James Bond films, the producers are reportedly looking at changing up a different aspect of the legendary spy franchise. According to a source, producer Barbara Broccoli is looking at artists such as Bruno Mars and The Weeknd to produce the theme song of the next Bond film.
The James Bond films have always featured an original song for their grand opening credits sequences. Three of these songs have won Oscars in the past, including Adele’s ‘Skyfall’, Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s on the Wall’, and Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s ‘No Time To Die’. The new Bond film might have a change in style due to the artists the production is eyeing.

Ed Sheeran’s sophomore album, stylized as X but pronounced Multiply, will celebrate its official 10th anniversary in a few weeks, on June 21. But for the record that changed his life, largely solidifying his place in the pop ecosystem with “Thinking Out Loud” and “Photograph,” the singer and songwriter began the celebration early with a special performance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday evening.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is not only stealing hearts, but he seems to be stealing quite a few perfect roles from major franchises too. Besides having his recent film The Fall Guy released in the theatres (he stars as Tom Ryder in it), he has another Marvel movie lined up, which, unfortunately, recently faced yet another postponed release date: Kraven the Hunter.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson. | Credit: Gage Skidmore/Wikimedia Commons.
Although it is not new for the franchise to shift the release dates further down the road, this news still has fans springing up with conspiracy theories. That being said, one theory states that this further delay is presumably because of Taylor-Johnson’s casting as the new James Bond. And, as much as it would sound appealing to his fans, this theory might as well piss off Henry Cavill fans.

Henry Cavill’s professional relationship with director Guy Ritchie has been a subject of interest in recent times. Previously collaborating twice, in the 2015’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and 2024’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill and Ritchie met with rather underwhelming performances of their films at the box office, both times.

Near the end of The Big Cigar, a six-episode limited series from Jim Hecht, Huey P. Newton sits down at a typewriter, musing over how to tell a story and how each one has multiple storytellers and thus different versions. He then references (via typically clunky voiceover narration) a classic moment from the John Ford Western The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, in which one character says “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”...

We've known for some time now that 2024 is something of a recalibration year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after a rough past year for the blockbuster franchise. But with Wolverine & Deadpool just weeks away and X-Men '97 keeping the Marvel flag flying high on Disney+ right now, plans for Kevin Feige and co's big comeback are already well underway. And, during an announcement-laden Disney Upfront presentation yesterday, we got some big release updates for the studio's upcoming slate of Disney+ series.
Firstly, the House of Mouse — not Harkness — confirmed that they've been leading fans a merry dance with the titling of their upcoming WandaVision spin-off series, centred around everyone's favourite badass (and just plain bad) witch. It's not Agatha: House Of Harkness, The Coven Of Chaos, The Darkhold Diaries, or in fact The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe. Turns out it was Agatha All Along, well, all along — cheeky devils!

Vijay Devarakonda and Mrunal Thakur come together to do a tropey romance, and they somehow make it watchable. That’s something. The latest addition to Prime’s catalog, Parasuram’s The Family Star, is a decent rom-com with a big dollop of ‘sanskaar’ from the Aloknath’s school of thought. The less we talk about the story making sense, the better.

Guy Ritchie is one of the most recognizable British auteurs, thanks to his bold narratives that are a kind of Quentin Tarantino-esque stories framed by British humor and set in a British working-class and criminal milieu.
However, despite his colossal contribution to pop culture, which rivals that of the aforementioned Tarantino, Guy Ritchie's films are far from box office success. While many of his films have indeed made huge sums of money at the worldwide box office, there are also plenty of absolute commercial failures despite warm reviews from audiences, such as RocknRolla, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the recent The Covenant.
The same seems to be the case with Ritchie's new big screen project, the feature length film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Although it was released less than a week ago, the box office numbers are far from reassuring, but the movie...

When Ilana Wolpert was studying English literature at the prestigious Duke University, she never imagined that one of her first loves – Shakespeare – would lead directly to writing R-rated movies.
But the writer found her life changed when she took a screenwriting class in her senior year, and her love for the classics led her to adapt Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing into a contemporary rom-com. The enemies-to-lovers romance became Anyone But You, and it's coming to streamers this Tuesday.
What's It About?
Ben and Bea meet in a coffee shop and form an instant connection. They spend a perfect day together – but the next morning their wires get crossed, their defenses go up, and they both blame each other for the relationship failing.
Six months later, Bea's sister is getting married. Ben's connection to the family means that they end up on the same flight, and start pushing each other's buttons right away.

Taylor Swift debuted her “Fortnight” music video on YouTube Friday evening, along with lyric videos for both that song and the rest of her new surprise double-album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” The video features “Dead Poets Society” actors Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles in cameos, whom she joked about in social media posts where she shared the creative inspiration behind the striking, largely black-and-white clip.
“I’m still laughing from getting to work with the coolest guys on earth, Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles,” Swift wrote — perhaps also chuckling at her own self-referential cameos. She then added an explicit nod to the clear inspiration for her new album’s title: “(tortured poets, meet your colleagues from down the hall, the dead poets).”

The Taylor Swift drops just keep coming.
At midnight, Swift released her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department” — and then announced two hours later that it’s a surprise double album, leaving casual fans and Swifites alike to spend the day decoding who the songs are about. (How many Friday afternoon Slack messages were devoted to parsing if a song was about Swift exes Joe Alwyn or Matty Healy?) And then came the album’s first music video for single “Fortnite,” co-written by and featuring Post Malone.
In addition to “Dead Poets Society” (note that neither title uses an apostrophe) alums Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, the music video boasts another big name: Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (“Killers of the Flower Moon”).
This isn’t the first time Prieto has collaborated with Swift. The cinematographer previously worked on the 2020 music videos for Swift’s songs “The Man,” “Cardigan,” and “Willow.

Following his exit from two major franchises namely DC and The Witcher series, Henry Cavill has seen a bit of a lean period in Hollywood. To add to his woes, his spy thriller Argylle also sank without a trace at the box office. Cavill’s bad fortune in this genre started in 2015 when his film The Man from U.N.C.L.E was also panned.

It may still be a sore subject for Dceu fans, but Henry Cavill is seemingly able to joke about his run of misfortune in teasing follow-ups to his post-credits stingers. The most notorious one came from the end of Black Adam, which had gone unfulfilled when a planned sequel involving the clashing of Black Adam and Superman was scrapped after the origin film flopped and the Dceu was eventually laid to rest in favor of a universe reboot with James Gunn at the helm. Variety reports that Cavill introduced his new Guy Ritchie film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, at a special screening when he poked fun at his bad luck.
During Cavill’s introduction, he mentioned how he had worked with Ritchie a couple of times before. He would star as the lead in his feature adaptation of the TV show The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Henry Cavill fans can finally see the British actor as James Bond — sorta.
A fake Bond movie trailer “starring” the former Witcher star has been racking up millions of views on YouTube despite being a total fake.
The “Bond 26” trailer introduces Cavill as the new Bond using a mix of footage from other movies and artificial intelligence. The trailer also ambitiously casts Margot Robbie as a Bond girl.
So far, the wannabe trailer has generated 2.3 million viewers, presumably driven by a mix of fans enjoying it as a “what-if” effort, along with some being fooled by it.

The title is the worst thing about this lively, fun and largely true World War II adventure The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which is inspired by the Damien Lewis book of the same name but extending it to add: How Churchill’s Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops.
Guy Ritchie has taken this story of an illicit black ops crew, mostly of the prisoner variety, who with the permission of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (Rory Kinnear) was commissioned and put into action (a ragtag group of warriors if ever there was one) in order to sink, as it were, Nazi Germany’s U-boats operation that had been preventing the U.S. from entering the war in Europe.

Marie Ulven is not a chill person. Over the course of lunch at a slick New York spot packed with women in expensive-looking black athleisure, she swings between aping Taylor Swift’s arm flex on “The Man” from the Eras Tour — a move that Ulven, who opened for a few of those dates last summer, knows all about — and clutching her chest, breathless. “I’m just trying to deal with my anxiety when it comes,” she says. “Right now, my heart really hurts.”

After Henry Cavill’s abrupt and unfortunate exit as Superman from the Dceu, David Corenswet is set to play the character in James Gunn’s new Dcu. Gunn has deliberately chosen a younger Superman to explore more of the character becoming this eponymous hero and balancing this with being Clark Kent on Earth.
Concept art for James Gunn’s Superman
Gunn’s Superman promises to be unique and a complete departure from the tone of Cavill’s dark portrayal of the character. While Cavill’s Superman used his powers more than showing his actual fighting skills, it looks like Corenswet’s Superman is going to maintain a balance between the two as the makers hired a top stunt double for Corenswet in the film.

Another former James Bond star is giving his seal of approval to Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is rumored to be the next 007 agent.
Pierce Brosnan got his turn as James Bond through the 1990s and the beginning of the aughts across four films. As rumors heat up about the next spy agent to take on the role, Brosnan says Taylor-Johnson “has the chops” to take it on.
“I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so,” Brosnan said in an interview on The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1.
After 2021’s No Time to Die, Taylor-Johnson would succeed Daniel Craig. Brosnan began playing James Bond with 1995’s GoldenEye, followed by Tomorrow Never Dies in 1997, The World Is Not Enough in 1999 and Die Another Day in 2002.
The former 007 agent co-starred with Taylor-Johnson in 2009’s The Greatest, a film that Brosnan produced.

Quentin Tarantino is one of our most renowned cinephiles, as illustrated by his encyclopedic knowledge of film history, genres, and Hollywood stars. He is mostly known for creating audacious films such as "Pulp Fiction" and the "Kill Bill" series. While he has co-directed other movies (such as "Four Rooms" and "Sin City"), it is Tarantino's originals that have left a distinct impact on popular culture.
But did you know that Tarantino has also dabbled in television directing? As "Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood" demonstrated, he is just as savvy about television as he is about film, with a wide knowledge of its unique ecosystem and history. He brought this deep appreciation of television to his work on the eerie two-part season 5 finale of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" entitled "Grave Danger" in 2005. When the Los Angeles Times asked the wildly creative director if he felt "trapped by working within the confines of network television,...

There will always be enough room for a wacky and cynical action film on the release schedule, and in the future, Henry Cavill is all set to bring The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a film by prolific director Guy Ritchie, which is setting itself up to be a promising movie.

Taylor Swift‘s “The Man” has the female empowerment vibes of a Beyoncé song. In fact, its lyrics are pretty similar to one Beyoncé song in particular. Both tunes are reminiscent of a 1980s metal song.
How Taylor Swift’s ‘The Man’ is — and isn’t — like a Beyoncé song
In “The Man,” Swift imagines what life would be like if she were a man and didn’t have to deal with sexist double standards. It’s a feminist anthem from an artist who has become more and more of an outspoken feminist as time has gone on. It’s also part of a cultural shift toward feminism that began in the early 2010s.
Swift’s song has a pair of gender-bending pop predecessors. In 1986, Bonnie Tyler of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero” fame released “If You Were a Woman (And I Was a...

Cillian Murphy is currently wreaking havoc in Hollywood. After his fan-favorite role as Tommy Shelby, which made him a heartthrob overnight, he has delivered yet another mind-blowing (or atom-bomb-blowing!) performance as J. Robert Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer, becoming the entertainment industry’s newest hotshot — to the point where he is even being eyed to play James Bond!

According to recent reports by insiders, Murphy is apparently being eyed by producers who are all set to start the next Bond movie. While Murphy would be an iconic choice, no doubt, what’s surprising is the fact that he is being considered for the peerless spy role at 47 years of age while Henry Cavill was deemed too old to play Agent 007 even at the age of 40!

Actor Henry Cavill has played many iconic roles in his filmography and has constantly been a part of multiple franchises. While Cavill’s most famous role might be Superman in Zack Snyder’s Dceu, he has also been the face of Netflix’s The Witcher and has a supporting role as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes. Cavill has also been a part of Mission Impossible: Fallout and has been a top contender for the role of James Bond. However, when he was asked which film he would choose to have as an introductory film for his filmography, Cavill did not choose any of his blockbuster films. At its core, John Sturges’s Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is another retelling of the exploits of Wyatt Earp (Burt Lancaster) and Doc Holliday (Kirk Douglas) where the facts are buried under layers of myth. Doc is introduced as a surly card sharp and drunk, and he’s ultimately steered out of trouble by Wyatt. This is a different approach from John Ford’s My Darling Clementine, in which Doc doesn’t appear until well into the film and is a public nuisance to Wyatt and others. By initially focusing on Doc, who’s more receptive to Wyatt’s council here, the film winds up giving the men equal footing as protagonists, making this something closer to a buddy picture.

When Martin Scorsese was making “Silence,” his 2016 drama about a pair of Jesuit priests spreading the gospel in Japan, a typhoon hit the area, bringing with it biblical showers. As the filmmaker braced himself for news that the bad weather would mean he’d have to abandon plans to shoot that day, there was a rap on his trailer door. There stood Rodrigo Prieto, Scorsese’s long-time cinematographer, outfitted in heavy rain gear. Despite the deluge, he was radiating optimism.
“We’re almost ready,” Prieto reassured the director. “Just a few more minutes.”
Prieto’s calm demeanor and his commitment to getting the work done, no matter the elemental hurdles, left Scorsese speechless.
“He always delivers — he interprets what I’m asking for and he brings it to life,” Scorsese marvels. “He’s always positive and he thinks and works quickly. And absolutely nothing stops him.”

NCIS released a video featuring cast members discussing their time working with David McCallum.
David was beloved by the NCIS cast and crew, which was very evident in the tribute episode for Ducky.
He played Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard for years and left a lasting impact on his co-workers, friends, and fans.
An episode called The Stories We Leave Behind aired on February 19. It included a memorial card to show how much David is missed.
The episode focused on one last case that Ducky was working on, and the NCIS team did what it could to solve the mystery.
Some NCIS fans also caught the hint of Gibbs’ location that was featured early in the episode.

The international box office was generally muted this weekend, save for in China which ushered in the Year of the Dragon on Saturday, and with it the lucrative Chinese New Year moviegoing period. According to early figures from Maoyan, the first two days of Spring Festival 2024 amassed Rmb 2.44B ($339M), just a touch below the comparable days in 2023.
Although Maoyan’s Pegasus 2 was tops on Saturday, the first day of the holiday, ultimately it was the Jia Ling Cfg/Alibaba inspirational film Yolo that won the weekend with an estimated Rmb 804M ($112M/comScore has it slightly lower at $110.4M) across the two-day stretch. IMAX accounted for $3.6M of that. It often happens that the day-one winner is overtaken on day two.
