There are very few names in Hollywood as legendary as Quentin Tarantino. Having given some of the biggest cult classics of the last few decades, the director is rumored to be heading into retirement after completing his self-imposed quota of ten Hollywood projects.
While there were rumors that The Movie Critic starring both Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise would be his final offering to Hollywood, the project has since been scrapped, with no update on how the director plans to proceed next. One potential option seems to be a one-off Sgt. Rock movie, which Tarantino had previously admitted he himself considered.

Being recognized as the king of crime movies replete with violence, razor-sharp dialogues and allusions to pop culture entities, Quentin Tarantino inscribed his name in movie history. Almost all of his films are recognized both by critics and the audience.
However, there was a movie that became overshadowed by the success of Pulp Fiction (1994) and then by the Kill Bill saga (2003 - 2004). It appears to be the only movie of Tarantino that was adapted from a novel, Elmore Leonard’s one titled Rum Punch.
The film’s plot revolves around Jackie, a flight attendant, who is caught by the duo of an agent and a detective while she was heading to bring the money to her boss. The latter is in fact an arms dealer who is hunted by those two, and the woman is asked for help.
Instead of cooperating with them or going to prison, Jackie decides to...

Quentin Tarantino is one of the most prolific filmmakers in Hollywood. The maverick director is known for films such as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and the Kill Bill franchise. He is known for his particular brand of violent entertainers with a tribute to the films and TV shows he grew up with in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
In 2008, the filmmaker made one of his best-reviewed works Inglorious Basterds. The film saw a group of US soldiers infiltrating Nazi Germany during the Second World War. While Tarantino approached the subject with a revisionist history lens, he reportedly also wrote a segment in the original script that he wanted to turn into a spinoff film called Killer Crow.

The highly anticipated Star Wars series The Acolyte officially launches on Disney+ on June 4. Still, early viewers are already flocking to social media platforms to celebrate the dark, bold, and bound-to-be-divisive series. On Thursday evening, the cast and crew celebrated the show’s early arrival with a select crowd, and the first reactions to the murder mystery set in a galaxy far, far away are pouring in. The event shared the series’ first two episodes (some journos have seen the first four), and audiences have big feelings about what could be the grittiest Star Wars saga yet.
Many of the reactions to The Acolyte are overwhelmingly positive, with viewers praising the show’s stellar performances, nail-biting action, and intriguing murder mystery plot. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe began with grand intentions, aiming to assemble the crucial supporting characters from the Spider-Verse. However, they overlooked a crucial aspect: Spider-Man himself.
With several films already released, the Ssu has faced its share of failures, with the latest disappointment being ‘Madame Web.’ The female-led superhero film was heavily criticized by critics and failed to recoup its investment. Despite this setback, recent reports indicate that Sony is forging ahead with the Ssu, with several new projects currently in development.
The year 2023 got off to a rocky start, but there’s still hope for the studio’s redemption with the upcoming releases of ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and ‘Venom: The Last Dance.’ ‘Kraven the Hunter’ was recently pushed back to December 13, after initially being slated for release on January 13, 2023, then rescheduled for October 6, 2023, and later August 30, 2024.
However, the latest delay has nothing to do with the film’s development or the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe started with the best intentions, it was supposed to gather the most important supporting characters from the Spiderverse, but they forgot one important thing, Spider-Man himself.

Being presumably the most recognized action star of the 21st century, Jason Statham made his name known around the world with such staples of the genre, as Crank (2006), The Mechanic (2011), Wrath of Man (2021) and, of course, the Fast & Furious franchise.
Disappointingly, his last movie rated 70% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes was the 2015 hit Spy. Since then, Statham starred only in critically panned or even commercially failed flicks, however, this year Amazon released a movie that changed that trend
The plot revolves around Statham’s Adam Clay, a former secret agent who is enraged by the suicide of his landlady, caused by the loss of her charity's funds to a phishing scam.
Urging for revenge, Adam sets out a campaign against those responsible for that scam, and this operation promises to take on national stakes, as the guilty ones acknowledge he was a member of a powerful clandestine organization.

One of the most adapted authors in history, Stephen King yet has a significant experience with movies proving that he has developed his critical eye over the years of dealing with filmmakers.
Though he’s mostly known as a cinephile who doesn’t follow the mainstream preferring to crash the movies that everyone adores, King still left everyone bewildered when admitted he hadn’t enjoyed Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, but nonetheless gave it a credit saying there are some worse movies out there.
Several years ago King revealed that he’s not into “narcissistic stuff like Kill Bill” calling the film’s opening part a “blah movie”, but then proceeded with some kind of weird compliment for Tarantino’s hit saying that “isn’t a benchmark of awfulness” comparing it to Mars Attacks! or Mommie Dearest.

South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook is the latest auteur making the migration to television. He previously dabbled in serialized narratives by directing all six episodes of the 2018 BBC spy thriller mini-series "The Little Drummer Girl." Adapting a John Le Carré novel, famous for their intricate plots, for his second English-language work? Park's pulled off that and more.
This year, Park co-created "The Sympathizer," a Vietnam War satire starring Robert Downey Jr. and Hoa Xuande. Adapted from Viet Thanh Nguyen's 2015 novel (and Pulitzer winner), Park also directed the series' first three episodes. Most recently, it's been confirmed that he's producing a TV remake of his most famous film: 2003 revenge thriller "Oldboy."

In the Star Wars universe, the lightsaber is an iconic part of the series as the weapon is not merely a tool used in the battle between a Sith and a Jedi. The glowing blade with striking colors like green, blue, purple, and red, captures the attention of the audience and the distinctive sound adds to its popularity.

Though new additions to the franchise have always been accepted by its fans, even they think that the addition of this bizarre weapon is a bit too ridiculous.

Star Wars: The Acolyte continues to intrigue and divide fans in equal measure. Despite that latter point, it looks set to be be a crucial chapter in the story of how the Sith returned to prominence before The Phantom Menace.
The Disney+ series reportedly takes place roughly 100 years before the events of that movie, meaning we're likely to meet Emperor Palpatine's Master, Darth Plagueis.

Back in the Old Days, sequels and franchises used to be anathema in Hollywood. The conventional wisdom was that no audience wanted to see more of a story that had already reached its conclusion, and that a "part two" or more didn't make as much money at the box office as an original work did.
Except, that is, within the horror genre. Universal Pictures discovered pretty early on in cinema's history that audiences would be down with seeing their spooky pals on screen as much as possible, and thus Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolf Man, and others made return visits in the '30s and '40s. However, each of these sequels sought to be as unique as possible, with very few merely rehashing what had come before, and the concept of continuity or lore was essentially tossed aside at will.

Quentin Tarantino‘s movies are wildly different from Disney movies. They’re violent, transgressive, and narratively complex. Despite this, one Disney film had a huge impact on him as a child. The Pulp Fiction director said an infamous scene from the movie scared him as much as a horror film by Wes Craven.
2 scenes from a Disney movie disturbed Quentin Tarantino
In his 2022 book Cinema Speculation, the Kill Bill director recalled watching a number of violent and sexually explicit movies as a child. He rhetorically asked if there was a film he couldn’t handle as a kid. The movie that came to mind was Walt Disney’s Bambi.
“Bambi getting lost from his mother, her being shot by the hunter, and that horrifying forest fire upset me like nothing else I saw in the movies,” he said. “It wasn’t until 1974 when I saw Wes Craven’s The Last House on the Left...

Quentin Tarantino‘s movies have a lot in common with Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, as they are all violent, funny, and intelligently crafted. Tarantino may have gone too far by saying Jaws was once the greatest movie ever made. He contrasted Jaws with films from an earlier generation.
Quentin Tarantino said ‘Jaws’ was so much better than every previous movie
In his 2022 book Cinema Speculation, the Kill Bill director had a lot to say about a certain movie about a giant shark. “When Jaws came out in 1975 it might not have been the best film ever made,” he wrote. “But it was easily the best movie ever made. Nothing ever made before it even came close.”
Tarantino’s take is provocative. Spielberg released Jaws in 1975. By that point, many of the most widely beloved films of all time had come out, including The Wizard of Oz, The Ten Commandments, and The Sound of Music.

Quentin Tarantino felt that he could have directed Wes Craven’s Scream. He took some shots at Craven’s version of the story. However, Tarantino admitted that he was terrified by one of Craven’s earlier films when he was a child.
Quentin Tarantino felt Wes Craven stopped ‘Scream’ from achieving its potential
During a 2015 interview with Vulture, Tarantino was asked if he wanted to direct any franchise movies. “I could have imagined doing the first Scream,” he said. “The Weinsteins were trying to get Robert Rodriguez to do it. I don’t even think they thought I would be interested.” For context, Rodriguez has worked with Tarantino on multiple occasions. Most famously, they each directed a film from the double feature Grindhouse.
“I actually didn’t care for Wes Craven’s direction of it,” he said. “I thought he was the iron chain attached to its ankle that kept...

Stephen King is most often dubbed as the King of Horror, but that never stops the world-famous author from sharing his honest opinion about everything and anything. Others write “hot take” before saying something controversial, but not King: when this man wants to take shots at Quentin Tarantino, he writes a column about it, plain and simple.
And yes, King did take a shot at one of Tarantino’s most celebrated action movies.
Stephen King Hated This Tarantino Classic
Some days, the King of Horror wakes up and chooses violence. That’s exactly what happened when he decided to write a column for EW: in his article, the author goes over several movies to destroy them, but he specifically targets Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 Kill Bill: Vol. 1 as he muses about why you should never trust movie critics.
“[Movie critics are] apt to rhapsodize over narcissistic stuff like Kill Bill, which announces itself...

Dev Patel’s seething directorial debut joins a thriving genre, from the bloody violence of Tarantino and John Wick to the comic rage of The First Wives Club
In real life, most of us don’t get that many opportunities to exact revenge on someone. A passive-aggressive comeback maybe, but that’s not quite the same. In the movies, however, as in Greek mythology, vengeance is one of the driving forces of storytelling: revenge films, both aggressively bloody and more benign, provide cathartic wish-fulfilment for our own petty grievances and unsettled scores. In Dev Patel’s seething directorial debut Monkey Man, the quest is familiar – as his streetwise hero seeks retribution for his mother’s murder – but the sheer gusto of his vengeance is invigorating, down to driving a dagger into a villain’s throat with his teeth.

Veteran filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has been vocal about his preferences when it comes to movies and he’s not afraid to criticize or slam those that did not hit the mark for him. One of his filmmaking idols is Steven Spielberg, and while he loves some of the director’s projects, there’s one he hates the most.
Harrison Ford and Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
It became controversial because the movie in question is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. The film has been celebrated by many fans, so it’s a huge mystery why Tarantino did not like it.

The 2000s saw the action genre in a state of flux. The Matrix revolutionized everything at the end of the previous decade, The Bourne Supremacy would make shaky cameras standard practice in 2004, and the MCU would take flight with Iron Man in 2008. At the same time, Michael Bay reached his ultimate form with Bad Boys II, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Kill Bill made kung fu classy, and Oldboy changed the way we look at hallways.
Within those changes came a host of greats that didn’t get the same attention. Some of these movies represent the first steps in the development of those who would define the genre, such as Scott Adkins and Gareth Evans. Some find stars at the height of the powers, such as Donny Yen and Michael Jai White. And some are just cool, because that’s really all an action movie needs.

The movie genre of actions is often associated with the male leading characters who fight for the world’s peace or power. However, there are some female action leads who make their movies stand out among the great number of the genre’s features.
Here are 7 of the most memorable female-led action movies, chosen by Redditors.
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003)
This martial arts feature probably comes first to mind in this respect, as Uma Thurman’s Bride is one of the most deadly and cultish onscreen assassins in history. Everyone saw Quentin Tarantino’s timeless masterpiece at least once in their lives, and it’s worth it.
Aliens (1986)
Long before the modern action heroines, 38 years ago, Sigourney Weaver starred as the courageous survivor of an alien attack, Ellen Ripley, who manages to go head-to-head with the Xenomorph and defeat it, unlike the great number of people around her.

From nuns and handmaids to webslingers and oversexualized teens, Sydney Sweeney has done a fantastic job in her decade and a half of acting.
While she has been dubbed a sex symbol, that title doesn't even begin to define the actress's range of skill when it comes to dramatic roles.
Having amassed 22 awards nominations and securing three wins, primarily for her breakout role in Euphoria, the actress has become a mainstay in the entertainment industry.
Though she's been acting since 2009, it wasn't until recently that she started blowing up the news circuits with her career-defining performances.
One thing that can be said about the actress is that she takes every opportunity to elevate her characters as far as possible.
Here, we've assembled a set of Sweeney's most notable television and film roles. From comedy to horror to gritty drama, the actress is not limiting her role choices.

Quentin Tarantino does not view Kill Bill as two separate films. That should be acknowledged upfront as fair. After all, it is this detail which allows Tarantino the ability to claim Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood as his ninth instead of 10th film (thereby delaying any obligatory early retirements). And to be sure, Tarantino shot Kill Bill as one epic vision that was only encouraged to be broken up by, ahem, Harvey Weinstein while Tarantino was finishing up principal photography.
So while the story was released as Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2, they’re two sides of the same tale. Be that as it may, there’s no denying that they’re two incredibly different sides. Whether a creative choice made in post-production after realizing he had hours more of running time to play with, or because the filmmaker was already at his most indulgent...

Even in Hollywood, there is a strong divide between Eastern and Western movies, one that Helen Mirren understands all too well. The classic films find themselves split into different genres, with the Western becoming one of its own. Mirren’s name is one associated with skill, talent, and sheer amount of grandeur as an actress, justifying her many accolades.

The actress has always found herself acknowledging as well as critiquing films that come and go. Some stand out for her while others don’t. Amongst the lot stands Western films, something the actress wanted to steer clear of. Ironic, one might consider it to be. Seeing that Mirren found herself starring in the Yellowstone spin-off alongside Harrison Ford. Her entire perspective towards such works was changed after watching one Quentin Tarantino Movie.

Whether it has to do with his style of filmmaking or his maverick take on cinema, Quentin Tarantino stands apart from his contemporaries in Hollywood. The director has carved a niche for himself in the industry with his brand of storytelling that has caught the fancy of audiences across the world while also throwing up a lot of talking points regarding his stylized approach to violence.

Quentin Tarantino has a few strict policies on his film sets, including banning cell phones. But he didn’t always have this rule in place. It wasn’t until a Kill Bill incident that Tarantino felt cell phones had to go.

Tarantino’s strict cell phone policy didn’t just spring out of nowhere. The filmmaker puts a lot of focus and work into making his movies what they end up being on screen. So, he’s had little tolerance for mistakes on set that might jeopardize the process. While making Kill Bill, someone received a phone call at possibly the worst time during production. And Tarantino immediately felt there needed to be a change.

Quentin Tarantino did not go to film school, he did not even graduate from high school – his only real teachers were the movies themselves.
In 1988, he wrote Reservoir Dogs, a crime thriller about criminals who gather in an abandoned warehouse after a botched robbery. Reservoir Dogs was released in 1992 and immediately put Tarantino's name in the history of cinema. Reservoir Dogs was followed by other hits – Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill – each of which became cult in its own way.

However, Stephen King disagrees with the cult status of one of these movies, speaking rather harshly about Kill Bill:

The name of the Oppenheimer star is strongly associated with dramas and thrillers, as these genres seem to fit Cillian Murphy best. The actor’s performances are often chillingly stone-cold with him usually playing strong-willed powerful characters, so it’s hard to imagine him smiling or awkwardly joking on the big screen.
However, there is a 2007 hidden gem, which proves Murphy belongs to the genre of comedy and presents him in quite an unexpected role. There he portrayed a quirky video store owner Neil, a cinephil who spends a lot of time living through the movies.
As typical for romcoms, his routine changes when the mysterious Violet walks both into his store and his life. She starts to show him the real world which shines bright behind the movie screen and leads him down a risky road of petty crime.
This movie is obviously worth a watch for Cillian Murphy’s performance.

There is no denying the fact that a Quentin Tarantino film almost always sparks debates. The maverick filmmaker has carved a niche for himself with his unique brand of writing and storytelling that has won him critical and commercial acclaim. But his work has also earned him criticism for the manner in which he has chosen to execute certain sensitive narratives on screen.

In 2012, Tarantino directed Django Unchained for which he earned an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. The film is a fictionalized narrative set during the period of African slavery in the USA. Sony’s Spider-Man Universe started with the best intentions, it was supposed to gather the most important supporting characters from the Spiderverse, but they forgot one important thing, Spider-Man himself.
Despite, by now, having several installments, the cinematic universe wasn’t all that well-received with the exception of the ‘Venom’ franchise, which is scheduled to get its last installment this October. The latest flop in the Ssu was ‘Madame Web,’ and this December we’re bound to get a story centered around one of the most notable Spider-Man villains, Kraven the Hunter, so let’s see what we know about the movie.
‘Kraven the Hunter’ will be a darker story
Not much is known about the overall plot of the movie, except that the villain was supposed to be featured even earlier but the execs avoided him due to having pretty brutal stories aimed at more mature audiences. The upcoming...

10. John and Jane Smith from Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
We don’t typically consider married couples to be menacing, but there’s an exception to every rule — and John and Jane Smith are definitely one. From trying to kill each other at their house to dispatching countless assassins sent after them while working together, the Smiths are a force to be reckoned with — or, better, not even touched.
9. Chris Wolff from The Accountant (2016)
They often say that the most dangerous people are the ones who patiently try to avoid the fight, and Chris Wolff is the ultimate proof of that. He’s not excited about killing people, but when dookie hits the fan, he does what has to be done to succeed. The scariest part about Wolff is that he’s always over-prepared for any scenario.
8. Jules Winnfield from Pulp Fiction (1994)
Following up on “the most dangerous people are,” we have Jules Winnfield.

Kenneth Branagh has spent much of his career bringing to life the works of British writers William Shakespeare and Agatha Christie. Now he will not get a chance to play a different famed scribe. Branagh will voice star as Charles Dickens in The King of Kings, a faith-based feature inspired by the lives of both Dickens and Jesus Christ.
Uma Thurman will voice star as Catherine Dickens, the wife of the author, while Jojo Rabbit‘s Roman Griffin Davis will voice the couple’s youngest son, Walter.
The King of Kings is inspired by “The Life of Our Lord,” a Dickens short story published in 1934, decades after his death. It follows Dickens and Walter as they — and their cat Willa — become immersed in the story of Jesus.
“It is through the Dickens family that our audience experiences the life of Jesus Christ, and Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman and Roman Griffin Davis bring all the emotion,...

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction has been overturned by New York’s top appeals court.
After an appeal process, the court found there were “egregious errors” committed in the original trial, according to the Associated Press, including the court’s allowance of testimony from three women speaking to “uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts” that were unrelated to the rape charge. The argument from Weinstein’s side is that the Miramax founder could not take the stand in his defense on the actual charges without also being cross-examined on the uncharged accusations.
The New York Court of Appeals vote was a close one: Weinstein’s conviction was overturned 4-3.
“We conclude that the trial court erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes,” the majority decision said. “The remedy for these egregious errors is a new trial.
