Unlike in the book series, where any normal clothing the Animorphs wore during morph was either destroyed or left behind, the TV series showed the Animorphs capable of morphing their clothing whenever they transformed; no explanation was given for this, beyond simple dramatic license.
When frequent writer/director Ron Oliver announced to the cast that the show was ending, Boris Cabrera (Marco) went to his office and wept, confiding in him that he was from a rough neighborhood in East L.A. and didn't want to have to go home. Boris no longer acts and is now a successful personal trainer.
K.A. Applegate, the writer of the book series, was very hands-off when it came to the creation and production of the show.
A lot of the interiors were sets built inside a brewery turned into a television studio. The TV series "Goosebumps" was also filmed there.
The show was filmed in Canada but never aired there because they didn't have Nickelodeon at the time. Canadian actor Shawn Ashmore (Jake) didn't realize the show actually had an audience until he went to the United States and was recognized by fans.
