When Rob Hall is giving his team a briefing at the hotel in Kathmandu, he states that the air at Camp One (19,000') has 1/3 the oxygen of sea level. Per Jon Krakauer's book, this proportion is accurate for the summit (29,000'). Camp One has closer to half the oxygen.
The long-range view of Mt. Everest, shown several times during the film, is the north face, on the Chinese side of the mountain. The expeditions climbed via the "Hillary Route," on the Southern (Nepalese) side.
Climbing guide Anatoli Boukreev's last name should be pronounced "BOUK-ar-YEY-yev." Jon Krakauer (in voiceover) and Scott Fischer pronounce it "BOUK-reave."
