As of July 2013, the council estate where filming took place has been demolished as part of the Tavy Bridge regeneration project.
When Sandra recalls that Cass Elliot died by choking on a sandwich she is repeating an urban legend. "Mama" Cass actually died of heart failure. Reports immediately after her death (before the autopsy) apparently quoted her doctor as saying she probably died by choking on a sandwich. Despite the results of the autopsy, the sandwich story has stuck.
Linda Henry's character Sandra ends up owning a pub and working as a barmaid in a pub. Shirley Carter, her character in EastEnders, also owns a pub and works as a barmaid.
Sandra says that there are plenty of places that gay people can go without having to worry, that there is even an island in the Mediterranean called 'Lesbian'. She is misnaming the Greek island of Lesbos. The island's inhabitants are often referred to as Lesbians.
Lead actors Scott Neal (Ste) and Glen Berry (Jamie) both appeared on the popular police TV series "The Bill" although not together. In the series Scott Neal's character, Luke Ashton, is also gay. Luke's gay kiss was the first gay kiss ever for the TV series.
