Remember when Donald Trump was just some random rich dude from the establishment who had a role in Home Alone 2? The good ol’ times, eh? Now, the former US President is one of the most controversial figures in American politics, a man who is a walking contradiction and a blatant liar, a man who managed to trick a nation into electing him, and all he did was – nothing! He is running for President once again and while he was elected as the Republican candidate to compete against Joe Biden, his future seems somewhat uncertain as he has been found guilty on all 34 felony charges in New York!
A jury of 12 of Trump’s peers, 12 people who have been selected and accepted as neutral observes of the process and who are – and that is the gist of the American justice system – capable of judging someone who is their equal, has...

Mark Hamill, Lynda Carter, George Takei and Sheryl Lee Ralph are among those in Hollywood who have taken to social media to share their reaction to Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his New York criminal hush money trial.
A jury found the former president, who could face four years in prison or probation, guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records. Throughout the five weeks of testimony, the jury heard from a former tabloid publisher, a Hollywood fixer, Trump’s former lawyer and a porn star.
Trump also became the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes. Sentencing is set for July 11.
Ralph, star on Abbott Elementary, quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, writing, “Former President Donald Trump has been found guilty of all 34 counts he faced. A cheer has erupted from Collect Pond Park.”

Home Alone Star Recalls One "Wild" Night with Donald Trump After Shooting Sequel - Main Image
Home Alone 2 star shares the "wild" night he had with Donald Trump, the former US President, after filming.
The Home Alone franchise will always be that classic '90s comedy flick that sparks nostalgia on Christmas day. However, what makes it stand out from the rest is because of one particular cameo from Donald Trump in the sequel.
Before we get into that though, here's how Trump made it into Home Alone 2.
Explaining That Donald Trump Cameo in Home Alone 2
When Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) was asking for directions to go into The Plaza Hotel in the sequel, he ran into Donald Trump, who owned the establishment in real life at the time.
While that would have explained the cameo, helmer Chris Columbus said it wasn't that simple.

Hollywood actor, artist, director, and screenwriter Daniel Stern has bagged a ton of hilariously iconic roles in comedies throughout his career and has managed to land a spectacular performance in nearly every single one of them. As fans must have already understood after watching him in the Home Alone film series, he is immensely dedicated to his work to the core.

That said, this tremendous commitment once almost had him losing his life while working on his comedy-action from 1981, Honky Tonk Freeway. And, ironically enough, Stern didn’t risk his life this badly while shooting an action scene, but rather, this happened while he was shooting a simple scene, for he accidentally consumed real drugs on set instead of using substitutes!

Macaulay Culkin, the actor who reached extraordinary heights of fame and success with his tremendous portrayal of the genius Kevin McCallister in his version of the Home Alone saga, actually shared a rather peculiar relationship with Michael Jackson in the eyes of the public. That being said, most fans may not know that this friendship actually started with a phone call.

As Culkin himself admitted it, the pair probably wouldn’t have shared the kind of close relationship they did had it not been for one “weird, random” call that the child actor received from the now-deceased King of Pop. And, although this may sound similar to the rumors surrounding Jackson’s alleged abuse of youngsters, that’s hardly the case, and Culkin stands as a witness to this claim.

Turning into a cultural phenomenon following its release in 1990, the Home Alone franchise thereafter became the universal theme for the holiday season. Further, appearing in memes and other forms of media, the franchise became a huge box-office success. And certainly, the credit goes to its iconic cast, including Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern.

However, despite demonstrating its enduring popularity through generations and making staggering profits during every year’s holiday season, Daniel Stern revealed a dark reality about the films. Recalling how he was stripped of his deserving salary, despite his co-stars getting eye-watering amounts, Stern mentioned how he had to fight with producers for his demands.

Over the years, one could say that the Culkin family has ruled the film industry. Kieran, Macaulay, Rory, Christian, and Shane Culkin are all part of the film industry in some way or the other. The siblings have worked as actors in some of the most well-known projects in Hollywood, establishing their empire in the most iconic of ways.

“I’m in that chorus, and then I get 10 cents every once in a while.”
Joey Lawrence knows the feeling.

Residuals aren’t what they used to be, apparently even if you’re A-list talent.
That’s what Kate Hudson revealed on her Sibling Revelry podcast on Monday while speaking about the minuscule checks she receives from her brief appearance as a child in the hit sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Hudson asked her guest, fellow actor Joey Lawrence, about being paid for his work in commercials as a child.

Home Alone star Catherine O’Hara is opening up about one of the longest-running questions surrounding the hit movie.
If you forgot, the Schitt’s Creek actress played Macaulay Culkin‘s mom in the franchise. That means that her character lived in the iconic Home Alone house.
There have been a lot of questions about the home over the years, especially after a recent analysis revealed that it would have cost a sizeable fortune.
People now wonder how the fictional McCallister family afforded the home, and Catherine had a few theories.
Keep reading to find out more…
Speaking to People, Catherine hypothesized that her onscreen husband Peter (played by John Heard), “had his own religion.”
She joked that the “Church of the McCallisters” allowed them to amass the funds necessary to buy the house. Her other theory: “Maybe he inherited it… they inherited it.”
“I thought the house was pretty amazing,” Catherine added.

Elvis Presley might have been accused of cultural appropriation more than any other singer. A famous singer from the 1960s didn’t seem to take issue with the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll taking inspiration from Black music. Of course, her perspective is not universal.
A member of a Black girl group didn’t feel Elvis Presley committed cultural appropriation
Darlene Love was a member of the Black girl group The Blossoms, which worked with Phil Spector. The Blossoms released classic tunes such as “He’s Sure the Boy I Love” and “He’s a Rebel,” both of which were incorrectly attributed to The Crystals. As a solo singer, Love became most known for a pair of Christmas recordings: the seasonal favorite “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and the Home Alone 2 soundtrack single “All Alone on Christmas.”
During a 2018 interview with The Village Voice, Love was asked if Elvis appropriated music.

Three weeks after premiering on Netflix, Young Sheldon has ascended to the most watched show on streaming platforms in the United States. A platform switch to Netflix also sent The Super Mario Bros. Movie to its biggest streaming week to date.
The two titles, which rank second and third on Nielsen’s streaming chart for the week of Dec. 4-10, are the latest examples of Netflix’s multiplying power. Young Sheldon had 1.63 billion minutes of viewing on Netflix and Max for the week, after recording 1.85 billion minutes a week earlier and 963 million for its first week on both platforms. The Big Bang Theory prequel had never charted before the past three weeks (it was previously exclusive to Max) and has easily surpassed its parent show in viewing time all three weeks. As the aftereffects of the writers’ and actors’ strikes hit streaming in a big way, there’s not a lot of new content to offer subscribers early in 2024. Hulu still has some interesting things to offer in January, though.

If you watched Home Alone 2 over the holidays, you likely caught Donald Trump making a brief cameo. The scene was filmed at the Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, and found Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) asking him for directions.
While speaking with Business Insider in 2020, Home Alone 2 director Chris Columbus claimed that Donald Trump “bullied” his way into the movie. “Like most locations in New York City, you just pay a fee and you are allowed to shoot in that location,” Columbus said. “We approached The Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time, because we wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.“

There was no bullying involved in the Donald Trump cameo in 1992’s Home Alone 2, says the former president, responding to claims by the film’s director, Chris Columbus, that he “bullied” his way into the picture.
“Nothing could be further from the truth,” Trump said on social media on Wednesday. “That cameo helped make the movie a success. But if they felt bullied, or didn’t want me, why did they put me in, and keep me there for over 30 years?”
Trump said he was begged to appear, but was “very busy” at the time and “didn’t want to do it.” But the filmmakers were “persistent,” so he agreed.
Trump has been accused of applying a quid pro quo for the filming at his Plaza Hotel.

Donald Trump criticized “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” director Chris Columbus on Wednesday for claiming in an interview that Trump bullied his way into the 1992 sequel.

“They rented the Plaza Hotel in New York, which I owned at the time. I was very busy, and didn’t want to do it. What’s Christmas without the Grinch? Donald Trump has lashed out against Home Alone 2: Lost in New York director Chris Columbus over comments alleging that the multi-indicted former president had to “bully” his way into his infamous cameo in the film.
It’s long been known that Trump’s bit part in Home Alone 2, in which he gives Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister directions to the Plaza Hotel lobby, was an act of quid pro quo. Trump owned the Plaza at the time, and when the production asked to film inside the iconic building, the egotistical landlord had one condition on top of the standard fee request:

Trump owned the Plaza at the time, and when the production asked to film inside the iconic building, the egotistical landlord had one condition on top of the standard fee request:

If you spent your Christmas holidays binge-watching the Home Alone franchise on Disney+, you were probably stunned to see the familiar off-white dome of former President Donald Trump wandering through New York City’s Plaza Hotel lobby at the beginning of Home Alone 2. (It’s the scene where Kevin asks him for directions, and Trump does a double-take before giving them to him.)
In a new interview with Business Insider, Home Alone 2 director Chris Columbus has finally explained that baffling cameo. Basically, he says, Trump, who then owned the Plaza Hotel,...

You can be home alone, too, if you buy the Home Alone 2 townhouse.
The lux townhouse featured in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is on sale for a mere $6.7 million.
Located on Manhattan’s ritzy Upper West Side at 51 West 95th Street, between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, the four-bedroom and four-and-a-half-bathroom home is where Kevin outsmarted the ‘Sticky Bandits’ in the classic holiday film.
Listing agents are Dexter Guerrieri and Nicole Kats of Vandenberg of Townhouse Experts.
“Even though the film was released two decades ago, the townhouse owners still get letters from children at their address. Also, just a few days ago a couple from German stood outside, taking photos,” Guerrieri and Kats said.
The home feature decorative moldings, high ceilings, walnut floors and two sets of bay windows. The home boasts a formal living and dining room with glass doors that open to a garden with mature trees,...

“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” was the 1992 sequel to “Home Alone.” The movie starred Macaulay Culkin in his star-making role as Kevin McCallister. The sequel also featured a cameo from Donald Trump, then the owner of New York’s Plaza Hotel. Chris Columbus, who directed both movies, told Business Insider that Trump forced his way into the movie, which wasn’t standard at the time.
Columbus said that Trump’s appearance was required so that the team could shoot in the hotel. He explained, “We wanted to shoot in the lobby. We couldn’t rebuild The Plaza on a soundstage.”
Typically, a production team could pay a fee to use a physical location, but Trump wanted more than just money. “We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie,'” Columbus continued. “So we...

Donald Trump was accused of applying quid pro quo during his time at the White House, and Home Alone: Lost in New York director is now confirming that’s the way the twice-impeached president got himself a cameo in the holiday film classic.
Chris Columbus returned to helm the Home Alone sequel following the success of the first film starring Macaulay Culkin. In a new interview, Columbus details how Trump weaseled his way into an on-camera appearance.

In many ways, Chris Columbus and John Hughes made the most successful Christmas movie of all time with Home Alone. Sure, there are other movies that might rank high in the pantheon for some, but in terms of box office alone, this was a juggernaut, grossing $476 million in 1990, which, adjusted for inflation, is about $1.1 Billion in 2023. No other Christmas movie comes close to that number, and that’s not even counting how much money it made on home video, where it was one of the biggest-selling titles of all time, plus all its plays on cable, streaming and more.
Yet, it’s also a movie that would never be made now, with the film climaxing with Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McCallister laying a series of traps for Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern’s Harry and Marv that would likely put real men in their graves. Crazy as it sounds, Home Alone...

With Christmas just one week (and one day) away, we wanted to ask you, the people, what your favorite Christmas Movie is? It doesn’t have to be the movie you think is the best, just the one that you eagerly anticipate watching every year. Merry Christmas, you filthy animals. The time has come for your annual “Home Alone” marathon — but where exactly are those films calling home this holiday season?
In fairness, there are a lot of them to keep track of. Though the series ended in the hearts of most fans with “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” there were actually four more films that came after it. But, only the first two center on Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern). After that, new kids and new thieves take the reins.
The good news is, you can find all the “Home Alone” films in one place this year. But, you can also find them elsewhere, if you want to spend some money.
Where can I watch the “Home Alone” movies for free on streaming?
This holiday season, “Home Alone” and its many sequels are available to stream on Disney+.

It’s that time of year when popular Christmas movies are marathoned on television. By now, you are either on your millionth viewing or you’re absolutely sick of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, as the Chevy Chase holiday sequel is a renowned classic that is played every year along with movies like Home Alone, Home Alone 2, A Christmas Story and The Santa Clause. The movie is a family-friendlier entry for the Vacation series that brought John Hughes back to combine his famous Griswold tribe with his penchant for holiday films.
According to People, Christmas Con 2023 has recently jingled its way to Edison, New Jersey. This year, Chevy Chase headlined a reunion with his co-stars from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The Clark Griswold actor joined his on-screen wife, Beverly D’Angelo, Cousin Eddie actor Randy Quaid and Miriam Flynn, who portrayed Eddie’s wife in the three Vacation films in which they appeared.

Few franchises are as controversial as the feel-good Christmas family comedy "Home Alone." The first two films are widely beloved, bonafide staples of the American Christmas movie canon. However, the subsequent sequels — of which there are many — are almost universally despised. Most people haven't seen all of the "Home Alone" movies, and they might be left wondering — are any of the follow-up films worth watching?
Some feel that Macaulay Culkin leaving the franchise after the second film is what set the subsequent movies up for failure. In this critic's opinion, the "Home Alone" entries 3-6 suffer from a lot more than bad casting. However, I watched every "Home Alone" movie so you didn't have to, and I am here to answer some age-old questions. Firstly, is "Home Alone 2" better than the original? And secondly, are any of the follow-up films worth watching? My answer might surprise you.

Macaulay Culkin Reunites with Home Alone Co-Star Catherine O’Hara at Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony
Macaulay Culkin was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony held on Friday (December 1st). As part of the festivities, Culkin reunited with Home Alone co-star Catherine O’Hara, who delivered an emotional speech in the actor’s honor.
“Home Alone was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation,” began O’Hara, who played the mother of Culkin’s character, Kevin McAllister, in two films.
“The reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving Home Alone together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”
“I know you worked really hard. I know you do. But you made acting look like the most natural thing of the world to do,” O’Hara continued. “Macaulay, a 10-year-old boy, this beautiful, dear little 10-year-old boy, was called a superstar, a moneymaker. One of the hottest leading young men in Hollywood.

Rumors of a new movie titled Cabin Alone have some wondering if Home Alone star Macauley Culkin is prepping a return to his classic holiday film series - this time on Disney+.
While Culkin had been on the radar of moviegoers before 1990, it was his star-making performance as he led Home Alone that cemented him as one of the great child actors.
Since then, the actor appeared in one other Home Alone film (the 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York), although the festive film franchise pushed on without him for more films.

Asa Butterfield and the rest of the cast return for festive follow up Your Christmas Or Mine 2, here’s the trailer.
Your Christmas Or Mine landed on Amazon Prime last year, and it went down really rather well.
The plot saw Asa Butterfield and Cora Kirk play young couple James and Hayley who, upon deciding that they don’t want to be apart for Christmas after all, get on each other’s respective trains and find themselves at the others’ family home. Fuelled by farcical misunderstandings, the film is a solid slice of festive fun. It’s no Planes, Trains & Automobiles of course, but then again, what is.
Still! We’re getting more of it, and Your Christmas Or Mine 2 looks set to stick to the same formula. Think of it as a bit Home Alone 2 to Home Alone, if you will.
The synopsis reads as follows:...

Multiple linear channels and streamers are getting into the holiday spirit this month and next by dropping original Christmas movies, as well as old favorites and one-off holiday specials. As usual, Hallmark has wall-to-wall flicks planned until the end of the month, but Great American Family, Lifetime and BET have their own original slates as well to help ring in the new year.
And if the classics are all that you are looking for, there are still airings of It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Home Alone, The Santa Cause, The Wizard of Oz and Miracle on 34th Street scheduled for the boomers and Gen Xers.
And yes, on the big days, several channels have do have marathon programming events.
