Zeba Muhammad Ali migrated to Pakistan immediately after the partition of the Subcontinent in 1947 and settled in Hyderabad (Sindh), where he was introduced to Radio Pakistan by the then Director General Radio Pakistan Z A Bokhari. he was given a role of hero in the film titled 'Chirag Jalta Raha', directed by Sibtain Fazli in 1962. Santosh Kumar, whose real name was "Syed Musa Raza", son of Syed Daud Musa, successfully graduated with higher grades, from Usmania University, Hyderabad Deccan. After independence, Santosh migrated to Lahore, Pakistan, along with his family. "Ahensa" was the first film of Santosh as a hero, which was released in 1948, under the banner of "Kashmir films". Furthermore, film 'Shaam Dhalay' was the only movie in his film career, which he produced, directed and played the lead role, as well. Over and above, in Pakistan television's popular quiz show, 'Neelam Ghar', Santosh won the car by answering the required number of questions through his exceptionally high I.Q. and his immense general knowledge. Saadat Hassan Manto was born in a village near Ludhiana. He had a wife and 3 daughters to support and lived the last years of his life in Lahore, Pakistan where he stayed politically very active till the last days of his life. He also played a commendable and very supportive role in helping to build the film industry in newly-created nation of Pakistan after 1947. Earlier during his stay in India, he had written the film story for an award-winning Indian movie Mirza Ghalib (1954) and then his original short story 'Jhumke' was adapted for Pakistani hit film Badnam (1966). He is known as the most controversial short story writer in Urdu language. Government of Pakistan issued a commemorative postage stamp honoring him in 2005. In 2012, President of Pakistan awarded him Nishan-I-Imtiaz (Distinguished Service to Pakistan Award) .When Manto died on January 18, 1955, at age 42, thousands of people in Lahore walked in his funeral procession, a rare tribute which the public pays to a writer.- Director

Syed lmtiaz Ali Taj, prose and drama writer, was born in Lahore on October 13, 1900. After his education, he was able to partake in his father's publishing institution, Dar-ul-Ishaat Punjab.
During his college days he showed his literary qualities by translating and directing several English plays, and then staging them for the college. He sometimes played female roles as girls in his time were not allowed to act.
His earliest involvement with publications began with 'Phool', a children's periodical and 'Tahzeeb-e-Niswan' for women readership.
In 1918 he began the literary magazine called 'Kehkashan' in collaboration with his friend, Maulana Abdul Majeed Salik. In Phool he had the assistance of the famous short story writer Ghulam Abbas Ahmed as well as young Ahmed Nadeem Oasmi.
He translated into Urdu Shakespeare's play 'A Mid Summer Nights Dream' and entitled it in 'Sawan Rain ka sapna'. In 1922 he wrote 'Anarkali', which became a landmark in Urdu drama writing. This was later adapted into feature films in India and Pakistan.
In 1926 he wrote a play 'Chacha Chhakan' which was similar to the famous characters 'Uncle Podger' of the English dramatist Jerome, Chacha Chhakan remains until today the most humorous character in the Urdu literature.
Apart from criticism on drama, he also wrote radio plays, novels, short stories and several film stories, some of them directed by him. As the Director of 'Majlis' he republished many critical works of Urdu literature.
After the establishment of Pakistan, Syed lmtiaz Ali Taj conducted a daily feature 'Pakistan Hamara Hai' for Radio Pakistan. It was no doubt a popular programme.
On 19th April, 1970 while he was asleep, he was shot dead by some unknown persons. His wife Hijab lmtiaz Ali was seriously wounded.- Actor

Rafi Khawar better known by his nickname Nannah was a famous TV and film actor/comedian from Pakistan. He became popular as a comedian after his super-hit Punjabi language film Dubai Chalo (1979). During the early 1980s, he was at the peak of his popularity when he had many hit films and TV shows one after the other. Nannah successfully paired off with other comedians including Ali Ejaz and Munawar Zarif in more than 50 Pakistani films. He also had a widely popular TV comedy show called "Alif Noon" in the early 1980s.- Anjuman Shehzadi was an actress, known for Jabroo Te Nizam (2010), Reshma Te Shera (2011) and Libaas (2013). Munawar Sultana was a film playback singer of Pakistan active in the 1950s. She started her career in the mid-1940s as a radio and film playback singer. She used to take music lessons from the renowned music director Ghulam Haider. After independence of Pakistan in 1947, Lahore film industry had to rebuild itself because most of the Hindu film studio owners decided to migrate to India and they left Lahore, Pakistan.Music Director Ghulam Ahmad Chishti, Munawar Sultana and Inayat Hussain Bhatti are mostly credited with bringing the dead music industry of Lahore back to life again.She also worked with music directors Rashid Attre,Safdar Hussain besides Ghulam Haider and Baba Chishti to produce many super-hit film songs in the 1950s. She continued to work at the Radio Station,Lahore and recorded many popular Punjabi folk songs there as well. Munawar Sultana was known for her melodious voice among the Pakistani public.In the late 1950s,she married the then Station Director of Radio Pakistan,Lahore-Ayub Roomani.Her marriage coupled with arrival of new playback singers-especially Zubaida Khanum and Naseem Begum ended her singing career.She started focusing more on her family life and kids. Reshma was a renowned folk singer of Pakistan who, due to her unique husky and folksy voice and personality, was popular both in India and Pakistan. Her folk songs were used both in Indian and Pakistani films. She was born in a family of gypsies in Rajasthan, British India in 1947. The family later migrated to Pakistan. She was discovered by a Radio Pakistan director Saleem Jeelani back in 1968. Before that, she used to sing,as a young girl, at small private village concerts in the rural areas of Pakistan. She started singing,as a hobby,at the young age of 12 in 1960. She had never received any formal training for singing until 1968, when Saleem Jeelani, impressed by the quality of her singing voice and the obvious self-confidence of this young girl, finally convinced her to get some basic music training at Pakistan Television. Then she started appearing on Pakistan Television music shows and her talent was instantly recognized by the public. Her big breakthrough came in 1972 with one of her Pakistan TV folk songs becoming a run-away super-hit nationwide in Pakistan and thereafter she stayed popular all through the 1980s and 1990s until she came down with some kind of cancer and then she finally died on 3 November 2013 at age 66. She has left behind dozens of hit folk songs as her legacy.- Director
