His death was announced on social media by wife and actor Saxon Trainor.

Erich Anderson, who was sometimes also credited as E. Erich Anderson, racked up over 100 credits during a screen acting career that stretched from 1983 into the 2020s, but he may be best known for playing the role of Rob in the 1984 slasher classic Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. A character out for revenge, Rob looked like he had a shot at being able to take down hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees for good… but when Rob finally caught up with Jason, things did not go well for him at all. Among Friday the 13th fans, Rob has become a favorite due to the fact that he seems so cool and capable at first, but then whiffs his shot at vengeance in a major way. While we're all aware of high profile festivals that emphasize starry prestige vehicles, it's the smaller circuit fests that prioritize films like the dark comedy "Moments Of Clarity." The picture has picked up awards at the Boston International Film Festival and the Catalina Film Festival, which is a nice bit of momentum as it prepares to head to the San Diego Film Festival (which kicks off today), NYC Independent Film Festival and the Napa Valley Film Festival in the weeks ahead. Today we have the exclusive trailer for the film. Teenagers with a broken down van accept a ride with a truck driver who takes them to an abandon slaughterhouse instead crawling with blood thirsty monsters.
Prowl is one of those films that has potential, but never lives up to that potential. First two thirds of the film is pretty much an extended chase sequence. The problem with this section is, they kill off way too many characters too early on. This eliminates a lot of suspense the film could have generated in who lives and who doesn't as the viewer becomes attached to characters in the film. Then a plot twist is introduced that changes the whole story up. Thing is, this plot twist is far more interesting then anything that has happened in...

Chicago – Stalled cars, prophetic visions, fresh meat in need of tenderizing, and off-handed expulsions of the dreaded line, “I’ll be right back.” These are merely a handful of the timeworn elements utilized by two new direct-to-video releases from After Dark Films. Both pictures are competently made and well acted, which makes their lack of originality all the more depressing.
Brett Simmons’s “Husk” and Patrik Syversen’s “Prowl” are billed as titles in the After Dark Originals series, the collection of horror films financed and produced solely by After Dark Films, which seems hellbent on providing even more content for FearNet OnDemand. They’re the sort of films I tend to watch during a bout of insomnia. Throw one of these diverting yet disposable flicks on the screen, and you’re guaranteed to fall asleep in no time.

Here's a motivator for not hitchhiking: "friends gratefully accept a ride in the back of a semi...the truck disgorges them into a dark, abandoned warehouse where blood-thirsty creatures learn to hunt human prey, which...they now are!" (After Dark). You could end up as lunchmeat! This is the basic premise for Prowl, one of the After Dark Originals.
Now, a feature trailer for this feature is provided and the timing could not be any better. Prowl releases with Seconds Apart, Fertile Ground, The Task, and Husk today (January 28th). Re-Kill, Scream of the Banshee and 51 will be released separately, on a future date. If you are going to the theatre to see the first five horror films, check here for theatre locations:

It's quite a feat to stand out in an immense cast of talented young men in HBO's "The Pacific," but newcomer Rami Malek did just that as real-life Louisiana Pfc. Merriell "Snafu" Shelton. In the 10-part miniseries, which ends May 16, Malek steals the show with his authentic portrayal of a lost soldier faced with the brutality of war. Malek plays the kind of morally ambiguous soldier who looks after his fellow Marines as easily as he tosses pebbles into a corpse's hollowed head. It earned him major respect from his boss, executive producer Tom Hanks."I remember when I came home from 'The Pacific,' he gave me a hug and he said, 'I can't wait until I'm in a movie with you.' I was laughing and I was astonished, and when he said that, I was like, 'Yeah, we'll see if that ever happens,' " Malek says...

Here ends, I suppose, the series of cryptic emails I have exchanged with director Patrik Syversen in which he has spent a bout a year telling me that he's working on something while declining to elaborate further. Heh.
Syversen should really need no introduction around these parts. As the director of Rovdyr - Manhunt in English speaking markets - Syversen has been at the forefront of the wave of genre film currently emerging from the Nordic countries. And though Rovdyr showed a few growing pains it also clearly showed that Syversen was ready for bigger things, a lesson clearly not lost on the folks behind the After Dark Films, who tapped the director to helm one of their initial slate of original productions. Here are the details, and check a pair of stills below!
