General Hospital (Gh) spoilers tease that the Quartermaine family was shocked that Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) hired Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) as the new cook for the family,
This seems odd for several reasons. First Sasha was once involved romantically with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), who is a member of the family and lives in boathouse with his wife.
In addition, until a couple weeks ago, Sasha has made no mention of her history of cooking or that she worked professionally at a restaurant previously. Her ability to cook appears to have manifested out of thin air.
General Hospital Spoilers – Sasha Gilmore Has Quite A Colorful Past In Port Charles.
When Sasha first came to town, she was hired by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) to pretend to be Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) long lost daughter. She’s been through a lot since the ruse was discovered and has paid...

Another week, another casting change on General Hospital.
Lindsay Hartley on Tuesday filled in as Sam McCall while Gh mainstay Kelly Monaco took some personal time. But her absence will be brief; she’s back on Friday.
Hartley has filled in for Monaco before on the ABC sudser.
News of Monaco’s absence comes after it was revealed last week that Nicole Paggi will be taking over for Kirsten Storms as Maxie Jones in Port Charles. Storms will be out for a few days.
And a day after the Daytime Emmys aired in December, fans discovered that first-time Emmy winner Eden McCoy was Mia as character Josslyn Jacks; someone else was appearing in her place.

Emma Samms became an instant fan favorite when she joined the cast of General Hospital in 1982 as Holly Sutton, a con artist who romanced Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and later, found an even greater love with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). The actress still pops back into Port Charles to reprise her role as the English beauty, and now, ABC has tapped her once again to be part of a nighttime special, General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling. TV Insider chatted Samms, who resides in England, about the special, why she dislikes the term “training ground” when it’s applied to soaps, and her praise of Frank Valentini, Gh’s showrunner. A tribute to General Hospital’s 60th would not be complete without you! Emma Samms: Thank you! I was delighted to be asked. I still feel so connected to the show even though I can’t watch it [in England]. But...

One of the reasons ABC‘s General Hospital has stayed at the forefront of daytime television is its ability to produce the best super couples through the years. And as we approach the drama’s 60th anniversary on April 1, we’re looking back at some of those beloved TV twosomes. Leading the historical pack, of course, is Luke and Laura (Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) and close behind them are couples like Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Holly Sutton (Emma Samms). Special mention goes to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), who has been a part of multiple super couples, first with Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil), and presently with both girlfriend Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and ex-wife Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), in one of daytime’s hottest love triangles. But the real ones to watch these days are a pair dubbed “Sprina” — Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). The...

When we last saw Holly Scorpio (Emma Samms) on ABC’s General Hospital two years ago, she was presumed dead. However, viewers knew that she was still very much alive, and just being held captive by a mysterious someone in Monte Carlo. Then, Covid came into our lives and threw everything for a loop, including Samms’ return to the show, as the actress describes to TV Insider. “I still very much [have] Long Covid and I was concerned about coming back to work and Frank [Valentini, head writer] assured me they would be accommodating, and they’ve been incredibly kind in working around what I’m capable of,” she says. As for where Holly has been for the last two years since we saw last her, Samms could only say, “it’s been rough, obviously. Yes, she’s been held captive.” In clips from the show accompanying the interview above, we...

Mark your calendars and set your DVRs now, General Hospital fans: Emma Samms is returning to the ABC daytime drama on Wednesday, October 19. Fans heard in August that the British actress would pop up on General Hospital sometime this month, but now Soap Opera Digest has nailed down Samms’ return date as October 19 — unless, of course, preemptions delay General Hospital’s airing schedule. As Deadline reported in August, Samms last appeared on General Hospital in September 2020, when the presumed-dead Holly was revealed to be alive and imprisoned in Monte Carlo. But Samms’ return to the long-running show had to be postponed when she came down with Covid-19 and then suffered the effects of long Covid. In a statement to Deadline at the time, Samms said, “I can’t believe that it’s been 40 years since I first appeared on General Hospital and that, once again, I get to play the wonderful character of Holly Sutton.

Former Dynasty costar Emma Samms, who played Fallon Carrington Colby in the 1980s version of the rich people TV drama, says she’s been unable to shake debilitating symptoms of Covid-19.
Samms, age 59, tested positive in March, and was never hospitalized. Yet she still suffers from tremendous bouts of fatigue, she told the Times of London in an interview. Her condition has been nicknamed “Long Covid,” but researchers and doctors are still unsure why certain people have been unable to recover, nor how to treat the condition.
Over the last six months, such small tasks as a phone conversation or gardening for a few minutes leaves Samms exhausted, she told The Times.
“This panic-inducing level of fatigue has been less startling and immensely compromising,” she said. “And it fluctuates. I improve slightly, have a couple of good days, and assume I am on the road to recovery, only to go right back to feeling horrendous.

It’s interesting to think how a life could have been so different had one thing not happened and changed everything. Emma Samms might have at one point gone on to be a ballet dancer if not for a hip injury that forced her to stop performing. That’s a bit tragic to see this kind of injury occur at such a young age since as some people might go on to say injuries incurred when young can cause problems later on in life if they’re not corrected or allowed to heal properly. As it stands today it’s hard to say whether

Actors leave their shows for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes they have another role they want to pursue. Sometimes it is about the show; actors do not always like the roles they play or the people they work with.
Sometimes they leave for personal reasons such as to be with their families. And sometimes, as with the recently late and great Luke Perry, they leave the show because they have left this world behind.
Related: Enjoy Unlimited access to thousands of Movies and TV shows with Amazon Prime Video. Watch Anywhere. Cancel Anytime!
But the show must go on. When an actor wants or needs to leave a show, the writers have to cook up a reason for their departure. They might kill the character off, have the character move away, or they might simply replace the actor.
Seeing a new actor playing a beloved role can be unsettling but also intriguing.
