Hilary Linstead, casting director, agent and film and stage producer died on Aug. 6 after contracting a form of leukaemia. She was 83.

Born in London in 1938, and educated at Cheltenham Ladies College, Linstead went to Australia as a professional actor, as a member of an English touring company. After realizing that acting was not for her, Linstead found her metier as a casting director and worked in an advertising company and at International Casting Services representing actresses. Anthony Hayes in ‘Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan’.
Anthony Hayes has been acting since he was nine. While there is no danger of him giving up that stellar career, for the present he is concentrating more on his other passions: writing and directing.
In the past five or six years he has been in the fortunate position of choosing roles he really wanted to do – in the movies Cargo, War Machine and The Light Between Oceans and TV’s Mystery Road and Seven Types of Ambiguity – rather than just for a pay cheque.
Now his primary focus is writing and directing, starting with Gold, a thriller in which he will co-star with Sam Worthington about two guys who discover the world’s biggest gold nugget in the Australian desert. After that he hopes to make Stingray, a crime thriller he wrote and was set to direct in 2016 until the financing fell through.

New Delhi, Dec 5: Actor Aamir Khan, who has impressed with his tap dancing number in "Dhoom 3", learned the skill from acclaimed Australian choreographer Dein Perry.
Aamir, who plays a negative role in the movie, flew all the way to Australia to learn the grungy tap dance, which is high on energy and more difficult than the classic tap dance.
The actor spent some with Perry, who also choreographed for movie "Happy Feet Two" and the opening act of Sydney 2000 Olympics.
"Aamir had visited Dein Perry's academy in Australia to learn the grungy tap dance. After the training, the dance team came to India to shoot the song," said the spokesperson for the film.

We were lucky enough recently to sit down with Elijah Wood, Robin WIlliams, Hank Azaria, Common, and director George Miller to discus the intricacies of making an animated feature, voice acting and all things Happy Feet Two. Check out the transcript of our chat below:
George, can you talk about your collaboration with Savion Glover and the challenges of choreographing so many different sizes and shapes of animated wildlife?
George Miller: Well, the first thing to know is that I can’t sing and I can’t dance, and so in a way I had no right to be there. But we had very, very good choreographers and people who really understand music. Everyone from the composer John Powell to three choreographers—in this case Wade Robson, who did the earlier material; Dein Perry, you might know him from Tap Dogs, who did all the tapping later on; and Kate Warmald,...

I don’t think there is a singular film-maker I’ve found myself having written more about than Australia’s own Dr. George Miller. And now, writing this, I’m still not quite certain of the best way to introduce him, if indeed such a thing is necessary at all. The last of cinema’s thoroughly modern myth-makers – those implicit, anthropological followers of Campbell and Jung, before George Lucas arrived and gunked up the works with his clunky concretizations – and a college lecturer on the indelible powers of those myths on our collectives psyches and their places in modern cinema, in his spare time. The single-handed spokesman for Australia’s burgeoning film industry, and their self-proclaimed answer to our own Steven Spielberg – although, that’s an arguable comparison, I think. Here is a director whose output has equaled one film in the past ten years – and, just one other film...
