Gary Oldman is a cranky MI5 agent saddled with “absolute losers” in the first trailer for spy series “Slow Horses,” which Apple TV+ released on Wednesday.
The six-episode series is based on Mick Herron’s first novel in the “Slow Horses” series, with the first two episodes debuting globally on April 1, followed by one episode every Friday.
Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but bitter veteran spy who ends up at the “Slough House,” a department of MI5, where agents who’ve made career-ending mistakes are relegated. It’s a dead-end where no interesting cases ever arise, until Jack Lowden’s still ambitious agent sees an opportunity to get back in the game.
Oldman takes a bit of pride in the group he oversees, telling Kristin Scott Thomas, “They’re a bunch of absolute losers. But they’re my losers.”

Karen Gillan Directed and Starred in a Film Called The Party's Just Beginning and Here's The Trailer
Karen Gillan is best know for her roles in Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Who, and Jungle Book, but the actress has also just directed her first movie! It’s called The Party’s Just Beginning and the trailer for the movie has been released.
The movie is described as a “surreal coming of age story told from the perspective of a young Scottish woman (Karen Gillan) trying to cope with the suicide of her best friend and struggling to confront what's truly haunting her.” As a coping mechanism to deal with her life issues, she resorts to having sex and drinking alcohol.
I’ve been a fan of Gillan since her days on Doctor Who and it’s been great to see her film career thrive. Now, she’s getting behind the camera to tell stories and it will be interesting to see where this directing career path leads her.

"I can offer you, like, more magic than any mushroom ever picked." The Orchard has unveiled an official trailer for an indie drama titled The Party's Just Beginning, the feature directorial debut of Scottish actor-filmmaker Karen Gillan, who wrote the screenplay as well. This first premiered at the Glasgow and Tribeca Film Festivals earlier this year, and will be available to watch this fall. The Party's Just Beginning also stars Gillan as a woman named Liusaidh, who's struggling to deal with stress and all the feelings after her friend takes his own life. It's a powerful, darkly comedic film about loss, grief, and survivor's guilt. The cast includes Lee Pace, Matthew Beard, Paul Higgins, Rachel Jackson, Siobhan Redmond, Jamie Quinn, and Lesley Harcourt. This seems a bit wild & crazy but actually looks like an impressive debut. Netflix has released a new thrilling trailer for director Gareth Evans‘ new film Apostle and it as you’ll see it ramps up the horrific intensity! The trailer comes along with crazy new footage mixed in with the reviews that critics have been giving it. I’m always up for a bone-chilling horror thriller, and this one looks like it’s going to deliver!

Though Dan Stevens recently made an impact on the big screen with Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast – a lucrative reimagining of the fairytale classic that ended up being a box office juggernaut – the actor’s next project couldn’t be more different.
It’s called Apostle, and comes to us from Welsh director Gareth Evans. If that name sounds familiar, it should. After all, Evans is the creative genius behind hardboiled action thriller The Raid and its divisive sequel, and after flirting with the possibility of potentially closing out the trilogy, he instead switched gears and decided to make this upcoming thriller, which is headed to Netflix next month and just premiered its first trailer today.

“The promise of the divine is but an illusion.”
The full trailer has been released for director Gareth Evans‘ new film Apostle and it looks great! Evans is the director of The Raid films, and he’s brought us a very different kind of film with Apostle. This movie tells a disturbing story that is filled with the kind of stuff that nightmares are made of! This is my kind movie! It looks like it’s going to be an insane ride!
The movie stars Dan Stevens and it’s been described as “a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.” Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

The director of The Raid films, Gareth Evans has a new film starring Dan Stevens coming to Netflix called Apostle and it sounds like it’s going to be quite an insane movie. The movie has been described as “a harrowing occult fable where the only thing more horrifying than madness is the sinister reality behind it.”
Now today, we have our first footage from the film in a very brief teaser that was shared by Evans. It may only feature a few snippets of footage but that footage is pretty unsettling.
The director also announced that we’ll be getting a full trailer for the film to enjoy on September 17th. Just in case you need a reminder of what this movie is about, here’s the synopsis:

Line Of Duty series 4 hits the ground running with a terrifically confident opening episode. Major spoilers ahead…
This review contains spoilers.

A confession: when Thandie Newton’s head hit that kitchen worktop my faith wavered. Line Of Duty’s heavily trailed new lead isn’t going to make it past episode one again? Surely not?
Surely not, and shame on me for entertaining the idea that writer Jed Mercurio (who also directed the first two episodes of series three) didn’t have this all wrapped up as tightly as Ted Hastings’ sandwiches. Newton’s eyes flicked open as Jason Watkins loomed over her with that reciprocating saw and all doubt vanished from my mind.
It was the most breath-taking cliff-hanger yet.

The Doctor Who star tells Screen why she was forced to ditch the Tupperware Party title.

The film, which Gillan also wrote and stars in, was previously called Tupperware Party but has reverted to working title Untitled Original Drama.
Gillan explained to Screen why she was forced to change the name.
“The title is currently in limbo”, she said. “Basically we had a title [Tupperware Party] and then realised that it was a brand name. ★★★☆☆ If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise. Living a survivalist existence to rival any of Bear Grylls exploits deep in the Pyrenean wilderness are John (Paul Higgins) and Karen (Kate Dickie). Not the post-apocalyptic tale that one might expect from such an opening premise, Belgian director Tom Geens' sophomore film, Couple in a Hole, features a Scottish man and wife who have purposefully regressed to feral subsistence. The titular void represents both the physical hovel which they have chosen to inhabit and the figurative state of helplessness and desperation felt after a great loss. Deliberately paced, minimalist in its structure and plot, Couple in a Hole evokes a gripping and stridently unconventional depiction of grief.

It’s not political tub-thumping that makes Raised By Wolves such reliable fun though. (As...
