Breaking: Jason Bateman is attached to star with Bridesmaids' Melissa McCarthy in the Universal comedy ID Theft. Bateman is producing the comedy with Scott Stuber. Script's by The Pursuit of Happyness scribe Steve Conrad with Craig Mazin rewriting. The premise was originally for a guy who gets his identity stolen by another guy, and it was written for Bateman and another actor. That changed after Bateman saw McCarthy's scene stealing role in the summer hit Universal comedy Bridesmaids and he pushed for her to be the identity thief. This is meant to be McCarthy's first film when Mike & Molly goes on hiatus, shooting in April 2012. Bateman has become an increasingly industrious producer, most recently setting up a movie deal for Under the Banner Of Heaven, the drama based on the Jon Krakauer non fiction book that got set up at Warner Bros, with Ron Howard directing and Dustin Lance Black writing.

As one door closes—another door opens for Ron Howard. After a day Universal Pictures backed out of Howard’s ambitious project “The Dark Tower,” Warner Brothers Pictures took the opportunity to have him in a new project. The studio plans to adapt the Jon Krakauer novel “Under the Banner of Heaven” on to the big screen. Scriptwriter Dustin Lance Black (“J. Edgar,” “Milk”) will write the script adaptation. It would be Krakauer's second adapted book since 2007's "Into the Wild." Here is the book’s synopsis: At the core of Krakauer’s book are brothers Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a commandment from God to kill a blameless woman and her baby girl. Beginning with a meticulously researched account of this appalling double murder, Krakauer constructs a multi-layered, bone-chilling narrative of messianic delusion, polygamy, savage violence, and unyielding faith. Along the way he uncovers a shadowy...

The killers claimed they were acting on orders from God, consistent with their interpretation of a fundamentalist interpretation that goes back to the formation of Mormonism. The brothers were members of a splinter group called the School of Prophets, which adhered to original tenets of the faith that included polygamy and a belief that true believers could speak directly with God. These were rooted as the faith grew to a mainstream appeal,...

Outgoing Over The Rainbow singer Stephanie Davis has blamed a bad song on her elimination from the show last night.
Stephanie sang Mr Bojangles on Saturday night’s show and judges Sheila Hancock and John Partridge weren’t sure that she captured the mood of the song, while Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber said:
“It’s a very difficult for a girl to sing”
Stephanie told The Sun:
“I was a bit downhearted and gutted because it’s a really hard song.
“I’ve had a lot of ballads and I didn’t get to show my upbeat side.
“Everyone knows I can dance but I needed to show the audience at home. I’ve got so much more to give and I wasn’t ready to go.”
After telling her she would be leaving the show, Lloyd Webber tried to soften the blow, telling Stephanie:

Stephanie Davis became the latest hopeful to be voted off 'Over The Rainbow' last night (02.05.10). The 17-year-old Dorothy wannabe admitted she was ''gutted'' when Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to save fellow contestant Steph Fearon after both girls ended up in the sing-off after receiving the fewest votes from the public. Eliminated Over The Rainbow star Stephanie Davis has criticised the song choices she was given during her time on the show. The 17-year-old singer, who was voted off the Andrew Lloyd Webber talent contest yesterday, claimed that she had been given too many "big ballads" during the competition and argued that she had not been allowed to show off her versatility. "It was just too soon. I felt like I had so much more to give. I just felt like with the song choices, that I didn't get to show, what I could do," she told Digital Spy. "I had so much more to give. But it has happened now. It all happens for a reason. It was fate." Speaking about her performance of 'Mr Bojangles' on Saturday night, she said: "Charlotte [Church] was lovely. Stephanie Davis was eliminated from Over The Rainbow tonight.
Stephanie found herself in the bottom two alongside Steph Fearon and presenter Graham Norton revealed that Stephanie was the least popular Dorothy with the public this week. She was also the least popular with the judges, Sheila Hancock and John Partridge named her as the one contestant that they would send home if they could choose tonight.
The pair sang Andrew Lloyd Webber’s own song ‘Tell Me On A Sunday’, with Steph opening the rendition. Although Stephanie did sing beautifully, she just couldn’t match the crystal clear vocals and pure emotion of Steph’s performance. It was clear from about halfway through the song who would be leaving.

Over The Rainbow finalists Jessica Robinson and Stephanie Davis have been struggling with illness this week, Digital Spy can reveal. The duo, who are in the final seven Dorothys on the BBC One show, visited a vocal specialist during the week to check that they were well enough to perform. Emilie’s West End dream is over as she becomes the fourth contestant to be eliminated from BBC’s Over the Rainbow.
After a public vote Emilie and Sophie were the least popular Dorothys and Andrew Lloyd Webber voted to save Sophie. So the public’s ‘Wildcard’ Dorothy Emilie Fleming is the fourth Dorothy to leave the competition.
In yesterday’s live show, all eight remaining Dorothy finalists performed solo renditions of pop songs to show viewers that they have the singing skill and sheer charisma to carry one of the most challenging roles in musical theatre.
Emilie gave a lacklustre rendition of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ by Cyndi Lauper and managed to turn a fun a peppy pop number into a tuneless cheese fest.
After Emilie’s performance John Partirdge said: “You really gave it some welly and attack, it was better.”
Charlotte said: “Fun, frivolous performance. You had some control issues though.

Stephanie Davis sings ‘Nobody Does It Better’
I just can’t believe that Stephanie is only 17 years old. Singing this tune tonight she sounded like she’d really experienced all the highs and lows of love and life….Her vocals were spot on too, I honestly don’t think she could have done a better job with this song.
Lauren Samuels sings ‘Nobody Knows’
I love Pink’s version of ‘Nobody Knows’ so Lauren has big shes to fill tonight. Amazingly she does a fabulous job with the song, both with portraying the emotional angst of the lyrics and also with making sure her vocals had the right amount of variation……big notes and quiet notes….upset and angry…she did it all!
Judges Comments:
