- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterSuzetta MiñetJim PiddockIn 1964, a U.S. government operative codenamed "Snake" must infiltrate mountainous Soviet territory to rescue a scientist building a weapon of terrible power.Everything is right in this action masterpiece. The new time frame of 1964 allows for a great deal of freshness in the story. The Cobra team are a wonderful and truly deadly group of villains to contend with. Harry Gregson Williams (along with the marvelous Japanese composers) has composed one of gaming's finest scores. Snake has never been more compelling.
- DirectorHideo KojimaJunji TagoStarsKiefer SutherlandRobin Atkin DownesTroy BakerAfter awakening from a nine year coma, Big Boss forms a new mercenary group called, Diamond Dogs, and teams up with his former rival, Ocelot, to track down the men responsible for the destruction of MSF.Violent, in-your-face final entry into the long-running series. Snake returns once again, having been put into a Coma years prior, to hunt down the man responsible. Epic and imaginative; a superlative action game. Series regular David Hayter has been replaced by Kiefer Sutherland, who is just fine as Snake.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterRobin Atkin DownesTara StrongIn 1974, Snake (a.k.a. Big Boss) is no longer part of the US special forces and has his own merc team. While on a mission in South America, they encounter a strange hostile merc unit with far superior equipment than their latest tech. This entry is unique in that is has more gameplay than any of the previous entries. Big Boss returns to create his Outer Heaven and tangles with the CIA with the usual plot complications. Unprecedented production values and fascinating story allow for extraordinary immersion. The absolute best PSP game ever made.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterPatric ZimmermanPeter LurieA crack government anti-terrorist squad takes over an obscure Alaskan nuclear disposal facility. Solid Snake is up for the task to infiltrate the facility, rescue the two hostages and thwart the terrorists' plans. The first is still the best. Hideo Kojima relaunched is classic gaming series with this stellar epic. Intelligent and challenging, with rich plot threads and characterizations. Some cheesy scenes and dialogue are easy to overlook in such a strong narrative.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterJosh KeatonPeter LurieWhen the nations of the world rely upon private military companies to fight their battles for them, renegade Liquid Ocelot emerges as the head of a potent coalition of mercenary powers. Solid Snake returns to save the world once again. The epic finale to Solid Snake's story is a marvel of modern gaming. With a production scale to rival Hollywood blockbusters, this game at times tells more than it shows, with long occasionally meandering cutscenes, but superlative action sequences and a brilliant performance by David Hayter make up for it. The outstanding music score is arguably better than most recent Hollywood scores.
- DirectorMasahiro YamamotoStarsDavid HayterDavid AgranovSteve BlumIn 1970, six years after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (2004), Snake has to fight against his own unit, FOX, which has turned renegade and captured a nuclear base in South America.A fascinating, multilayered story that deals with Big Boss battling a foreign power in South America. A great story and some suspensful stealth sequences compensate for PSP production values and occasional lack of voice acting.
- DirectorHideo KojimaStarsDavid HayterQuinton FlynnChristopher RandolphTwo years after the death of Solid Snake, a rookie FOX-HOUND agent, on his first mission, infiltrates an offshore decontamination facility to rescue the President.A decent entry in the series, that broke much new ground in 2001, but seriously flawed. New playable character Raiden is a weak substitute for Solid Snake, who mostly takes a backseat in the story. Some great stunts, action and effects (not to mention a thrilling score by series freshman Harry Gregson Williams) make this worthwhile.
