I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! (2002)
IM A HAS BEEN, GET ME OUT OFF AIR!
Usual 'post-reality' TV with pre set up, mic'd up interactions. 2020 is so much worse being set in a restored, private castle in Wales. I suppose its aimed at the Daytime TV demographic so ill be a at least 3 decades late to the pop culture to remember why the "celebrities" were ever famous in the first place. "Challenges" worthy of after school game shows, nothing else worth thinking about. Big no.
Question Time (1979)
2020- unbalanced is an understatement
Whats the point in having a questions if they don't answer them? 'Zoom'-In public guests are completely glazed over. The panel are practically there just to argue partisan politics or, like the last episode, when they talked more about 'The Crown' than The Pandemic
There is never, ever any nuance. But i do like watching a fight
Troy (2004)
You sacks wine... yes its bad but thats what makes it fun
Predictable plots, dumb dialogue, stunning hair and abs for days. Imagining all the executives sitting round "lets make an epic. BUT SEXY", typically subbing a good script for an all-star cast. Dont know why they don't just call it 'Achilles' and shave off some of the fluff. It is a film built like an aftershave ad and aimed at 12-16 yr old boys. And none of that is a bad thing if you just let go and have fun. But there are some scenes; quite a few actually that just draaag. So chill with some mates and a sack of wine and laugh.
The Wrestler (2008)
On a late Film4 night...they got me. Right in the feelings 😥ðŸ˜
Definitely a film built for Micky Rourke. Man oh man some of his scenes when hes letting it all out... you can really see genuine emotion. Its a very real, honest film.
Growing up and growing out of watching TV wrestling i never reallly considered where some of these guys would be in 20 years time [WWE. circa.early 2000's]. When you've forgot the excitement of the performance even made fun of the profession; watching this just makes me so nostalgic for the past. I think a lot of people will easily be able to relate to the film on a personal level for that reason.
But it doesnt have to be The 'Wrestler'; its any old-timer like Cassidy with regrets and lost time that wants its back. The past is gone and a faded memory but at least you can watch this film and cry about it
Coronation Street (2006)

Little Mix: The Search (2020)
Same old, same new sound
Move over Dolly the Sheep, time for some real clones!
The formula is all there; fame hungry "influencers" off tiktok insta etc, out of pitch over-singing, surface level feedback from "The Experts" and a stage that could have been ripped out of Tron.
The boy/girl groups themsleves are radio 1 wallpaper and often move and shuffle about the stage in a manner they call "dancing". Meanwhile the stage lighting team acts like they have a vendetta against epileptics.
Costume design is like something from the Ru Pauls Drag Race cutting room floor- which isnt a bad thing! It just looks absolutely bizzare. Its not offensively bad (unless on high volume), its just another carbon-copy talent show that gets the primetime TV spot in the UK.
But the BBC are trying so give them a little credit and renew your TV licence this year x
Sir Billi (2012)
"aye've sheen things you peeple woodnt believe..."
A surprisingly somber character study into a man past his prime, trying to skateboard from the ghosts of his past. Our protagonist holds a mirror to the society we live in and makes it hard to look away. A piece of film for true cinephiles but punctuated with enough humor to appeal to a wide audience. Although some of the more intense, psycidelic scenes might be too much for un-initiated; it is certainly worth the trip.
Not bad for the first animated film produced entirely in Scotland and the last film of Sir Connerys' career
Dolittle (2020)
"8/10, not bad"
Not good, not terrible. Watch out for fake reviews! There are 2 kinds of people in the business. The job-ers; just in it to sell a movie like a roller coaster and artists that actually care about their work
Doctor Who: Orphan 55 (2020)

Dont be angry at the cast. Dirwct your anger at the writers and creators of the show! We have to PAY TAXES FOR THIS this isn't good enough!
The Critical Drinker: Orphan 55 is the Worst Doctor Who Episode Ever (2020)
Lying on the floor, drunk, questioning the direction of the show
Excellent summary of the feelings and criticisms surrounding the objectively worst DW episode of the series. Good jokes, great points, will be cancelling my TV liscence and subscribing to The Critical Drinker
Doctor Who (2005)
Look at user reviews from past years. It's a different show
I cant say anything that hasn't been said before but it is important that the public give feedback when they're TAXES are being WASTED making TRASH
