A Metamorfose dos Pássaros (2020)
Every frame works as a canvas, and every scene is a portrait!
The title of this review says it all. When I started to watch this film, it provided me with different multitude of sensations. It seemed like a poetic expression of camera, every scene creates an abstract art. No real dialogues between characters, only consisting of monologues of those characters portrayed in that film. This is a story of a family consisting of eight members, six of them are the children of Henriquez and Beatriz. The story is told through showcasing the nature and how it works, how we all related to the nature itself.
The most alluring thing about this movie is bold work of cinematography. Every frame is static and the objects in that frame moves so delicately that it creates some emotions to the viewers' minds. Every monologues of this film expresses the philosophy of life by comparing them with nature. It is an unorthodox form of storytelling through visual medium and I have to say, this is very bold one indeed!
There Will Be Blood (2007)
And There Will have to be Blood!
Sometimes storytelling has to be simple. No need to exaggerate any events, no need to bring up any suspense. Just simply blend the same conflict though out the story among the protagonist and antagonist to fight for. The only desire they both chase for, but in different ways. All they want (Daniel and Eli) is to be successful at any cost, no matter how big the price has to pay for it, how immoral they have to be!
Cinematography is really good. Tension of every scene is well portrayed. I love the way the symbolisms are used in this movie. Daniel Day-Lewis was brilliant and this is one of his finest performance as well. The way he carries the character "Daniel" was actually brilliant and definitely hooks the audience though out the storytelling.
Heerak Rajar Deshe (1980)
The Surrealistic Representation of Dictatorship!
Satyajit Ray is an excellent filmmaker. How he represents this surrealistic world is a pure class of art. This movie actually gives us the insight of the mind of a dictator and how he wants to control everyone through his action to keep everyone under his rader and that nobody actually raise thier voice against his rule. The depiction is so vivid and artistic, it can easily make you awestruck!
And specially every musical number is very meaningful and interesting. So, this movie is simple yet beautiful. One of Ray's masterpiece!
Jodaeiye Nader az Simin (2011)
Internal conflict comes into play!
I absolutely love this film. The authentic sets, lively acting, story building everything make it a 10 on 10 to me. Everyday every one of us is dealing with internal conflicts. Our true nature often interrupts with the things we want. Egotism is one of the basic problems that we are facing everyday. These kind of internal conflicts are portrayed in this film with brilliance. Must watch.
