Reacher: Fly Boy (2024)
A wonderful final for this season
Though I love the character, and I know his phyosophy, Reacher susprised me indeed with his last decision to share the money. It drove me to tears. I think this last episode (in spite of some cinematographic license to suspend the credibility) is a superb way to end this season. I enjoyed each minute, and I hope Reacher is back very soon for mo fun. I specially like Neagley, the way they work together and their relationship based in respect, trust and friendship. This chapter has some catharchic quality with good defeting evil. Reacher is a great series and both seasons are pure spectacle. Thank you!
A Very Sordid Wedding (2017)
I miss OIivia
Facing the fact that this movie is a sequel of "Sordid Lives", I must say I miss Olivia Newton-John very much in it. Olivia not only acted in the original movie, but also composed and performed the songs of the sountrack making it a truly treasure for fans. Anyway, this movie is very funny and I enjoyed it very much, specially the acting. Unfortunately, Olivia is not among us anymore and if they plan a "third part" of the plot, she will not be there either. "A Very Sordid Wedding" made my day during my recovery of a surgery, and it was a great moment to review the characters and the hilarious situations depicted in the movie.
Teresa, el cuerpo de Cristo (2007)
What body? The body of who?
It is not clear to whom the proposal of this film is directed: believers will flee in terror from such nonsense; non-believers will express their indifference, if not their rejection. To imply that Jesus Christ and Saint Teresa of Ávila had a physical relationship (something not subliminally suggested in the film poster) is an idea that is not blasphemous, but rather manifests the deepest ignorance about real nature of mysticism. Poor Paz Vega only has one reference in her life of what ecstasy is, the orgasm, and therefore, when the moment of mystical union with God arrives in the movie, she can only use that resource that says so little about her interpretative capacity. Absurd, tedious, false to real history, degrading for a figure as portentous as Teresa of Ávila, ugly, dull, terribly poorly executed. When the script is a piece of crap, it is impossible for the film to serve not only to edify, but simply to entertain.
The Golden Child (1986)
Crap
So a child who has evolved spiritually enough to project his astral body ends up consuming McDonald's and carbonated drinks like any other mindless preteen? This is clear proof that any contact with Eddie Murphy has dire effects on anyone's life. And that this movie is just another piece of crap put together by a comedian who has never been funny. I promised that I would not see any movie in which Murphy appeared again and having fallen into the temptation of seeing this is the punishment deserved for not having been faithful to such a purpose. Any positive comment about this garbage is incomprehensible to me. This movie is so damn bad that you can hardly bear to watch it till the end.
Nefarious (2023)
A complex topic finally approached with rigor.
This movie is theology in every one of its phrases. And not just any theology: it is a well-researched theology taken to an exceptional level by an outstanding script. The performances of the actors have restored my confidence that there is still talent in Hollywood. I highly recommend watching it, regardless of one's beliefs. In my case, as a Catholic believer, I celebrate that finally a production has been developed where possessions are taken seriously, unlike what happens with that trash titled 'The Pope's Exorcist' or with gruesome films in which gore seems to dominate the scene without any minimum rigor in approaching such a complex topic. I congratulate the screenwriters and the director for their impeccable work.
It is important to note that defending against the devil does not involve directly confronting him, but rather relying on divine protection and seeking to live a virtuous and faithful life. The Church also emphasizes the importance of seeking spiritual support from a priest or spiritual director in situations of intense spiritual struggle.
In accordance with Catholic theology, defending oneself against the devil involves utilizing various spiritual resources and practices. The Catholic Church teaches that Satan is a fallen and malevolent spiritual being who seeks the ruin of souls and separation from God. While Satan's power is limited compared to the divine power, his existence and ability to tempt humans are acknowledged.
First and foremost, faith plays a fundamental role in defending against the devil. Trusting in God and His power protects the faithful from evil influences. Through faith, it is recognized that God is the one true Savior, and seeking His protection is essential in facing any spiritual attack.
Prayer is another essential means of defense. Constant communication with God strengthens the spirit and provides protection against the temptations of the evil one. Prayer can be individual, communal, or liturgical, focusing on seeking divine grace to resist the devil and remain steadfast in faith.
Additionally, the sacraments play a significant role in defense against the devil. The sacrament of the Eucharist, by receiving the Body and Blood of Christ, strengthens the union with God and renews sanctifying grace in the soul, serving as a spiritual barrier against malevolent forces. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, through confessing sins and receiving absolution, restores the relationship with God and grants the strength to resist the influence of the devil.
The reading of Sacred Scripture and studying the teachings of the Church are also crucial means of defense, as they allow for understanding of the revealed truth and discernment between good and evil.
The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
Garbage that have no idea about who was real father Amorth.
In an official statement, the International Association of Exorcists states that the movie "instills the belief that exorcism is an abnormal, monstrous, and terrifying phenomenon, whose only protagonist is the demon, whose violent reactions can be faced with great difficulty. This is exactly the opposite of what happens in the context of exorcism celebrated in the Catholic Church in obedience to its directives."
The IAE adds that "The Pope's Exorcist is contrary to historical reality, distorts and falsifies what is truly lived and experienced during the exorcism of truly possessed individuals. Moreover, it is offensive regarding the state of suffering in which those who are victims of an extraordinary action of the demon find themselves. Exorcism is an extremely joyful event because, while there is a vivid experience of the presence and action of Christ the Lord."
It is not necessary to point out that, once again, Hollywood spreads historical nonsenses about the supposedly evil Spanish Inquisition. Who had read about the real father Amorth face the fact that this garbage knows absolutely nothing about he or his minister against evil.
Criminal Minds: Nameless, Faceless (2009)
Hotchner's wife
I really can't understand Haley (Hotchner's wife) attitude. His former husband was just at the border of death, she and their kid are alive and protected. BUT she spends her time on screen sobbing, complaining, asking stupid questions and regreting being the mother of the son of somebody who is thinking about them instead of himself. During episodes past seasons I've always been upset with this particular character, but I'm afraid this is going to be the plot during this new one. On the other hand, this episode is a good season start and I feel very thrilled to discover brand new adventures of the team haunting the evil.
Paradise City (2022)
Budget vs earnings
Budget: 20.000.000
Earnings worldside: 45.000
What this is mean to you, friends?
This is the most terrible piece of crap I've ever seen and I think audience is not so dumb after all because this disaster worths the financial debacle.
To say this movie is an absurd waste of time is to be merciful. Cannot understand what they were thinking about while writing the script, directing, acting and so. I will miss Bruce, who unfortunately is ill. I will miss John, who is also at the end of his wonderful career. But I definitively will NOT miss this movie at all because I feel completely dissapointed.
Bodyguard (2018)
Amazing performance of Richard Madden
Richard Madden is the absolute star of this show. I've been hung to the thriller thanks to his ability to be the perfect David. I will follow his career from now on impressed by his amazing performance. On the other hand, the plot is really sensational. It works like a clock and the final twist made my brain explode. Bodyguard is a very nice example of how GB is able to develope an amazing show. Needless to say, due to the end it's impossible to have another season, but I would like to see more adventures of this character in future. The rest of the cast deserves another 10 points. Same goes to direction.
Moonhaven (2022)
The problem with a moon set is...
...gravity! For God sake, nobody knows gravity on Moon has nothing to do with gravity here on Earth? Gravity doesn't magically change because we put plants on Moon surface!
Bones: The Woman in the Car (2006)
I simply love the scene in wich...
...Bones calls somebody and tells they are asking for... "you know who". That faces are magic in actresses!
I feel a great empathy for the child. I like this episore very much!
Sherlock: The Sign of Three (2014)
Absolutely wonderful
This is the perfect episode to tell us John Watson's wedding: the creators of the series invited us to the venue.
I enjoyed every minute but I must confess the last five minutes (the "Oh, What A Night" moment and the final revelation) drove me to tears.
It's simply a masterpiece.
Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia (2012)
Perfect!
This is not only my favourite episode of this wonderful show, but a superb film itself! You can just watch this chapter and you'll have a perfect reflect of the excellent quality of this series. Fantastic script, amazing acting... I've seen it several times and its end always brings me to tears. If you don't want to see the complete series, please, at least don't miss "Scandal in Belgravia"!
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
The biggest goof ever!
Starkiller orbits around a sun that is completely absorved by the machine. First: orbits must dissapear. Second: life on starkiller surface must dissapear. Third: targets of the rays are impossible to accurate because the planets are dramatically moving with no sun to orbit around. Fourth: how will starkiller move on space to the next star, probably situated light-years away? Fifth: There is not a sun anymore, so why the surface of the planets is plenty illuminated? Is that a double sun system or what? There's a lot of goofs in Star Wars movies (fire and sound in space and so) but this is the biggest stupid nonsense ever!
The Silent Sea (2021)
Always the same goof!
They are on Moon. Gravity on Moon is NOT the same gravity on Earth. BUT when they enter the research station, they have Earth gravity. It's always the same goof in sci-fi movies. There is not a machine to get gravity. The only way to get it in space is in a rotating space ship. It also happens in movies about Mars. When I see a space movie, I ask for a bit of accuracy. In other way, this kind of goofs takes me out the story soon! Too bad.
Medjugorje, la película (2021)
A nice testimony of an universal phenomenon
I've just came back from Medjugorje and I admit I cannot be objective about this movie.
I think there are three movies in one: the story of Virgin Mary's presence in that little village of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the testimonies of people who have felt their lives changed by that presence and the message of Virgin Mary to audience as a personal question to be answered by each one.
I've been touched by several testimonies, specially Nikola and Irene's. To listen the tale of the apparitions in witnesses words is a gift, and I think this movie will be specially remembered when the prophetised facts take place in a near future.
Congratulations to all people involved in the production of the movie, certainly following a calling from Heaven to transmit this wisdom to the world.
