Thouh not a movie of captivating interest but has some good scenes. Especially train scene is marvelous.Suspense is arose after every important incident. Film has some flaws but these can be easily ignored. The performance of man with long hair and shining sword is impressive. Film can be watched but you must not compare it with classics like T2, Pulp Action. It is entirely different movie. I will give it at least six out of ten. You cannot be bored while watching it. It is the only movie in which I was able to tolerate Christopher. It is a bit more real in theme as compare to some idiot science fictions. I think if you want to see some good movie, it is a must see but I repeat again, do not expect much from the film. If you do not expect a standard of T2, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings then it will do fairly well.

I have just seen the movie Namak Haraam. I am stunned. I cannot understand why this movie is ignored on TV channels. It has everything which makes a movie great. It has story, drama, enchanting songs and above all amazing performance by two great actors Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh. The story is predictable but the plot and presentation make it absorbing. It has some occasions to shed tears also. Character study of Amitabh and Rajesh is quite deep. Both the actors are my favourites. Amitabh with his imposing style and Rajesh with his soft loving style of acting are two poles apart. But they fit like gems in their respective characters. This movies has become my top five favourites of Rajesh Khanna with Dushman, Amar Prem, and Anand.

Kumar Goruv was a good actor. He started his film career with a bang. 'Love Story' was a tremendous success. But he could not achieve that popularity in his later films. Romance, as name shows, is a love story of a fatherless girl who resides in a foreign country and makes pen friendship with an Indian boy. She comes to see him and their love affair gains more deep color. Then typical hindrances of territories, families and circumstances occur in their love. At last they become united. Story is fast paced. One important aspect of the movie is enchanting music. Amit Kumar has sung some of his best songs in this movie. Performance of Poonam is good but Kumar Goruv is brilliant. It is a pity that such a nice movie is forgotten even in this mass of cable channels.
Dayavan

Perhaps Vinod's Best

It is perhaps Vinod's best movie. Vinod was a talented and original actor but it was pity that he left the film industry for a long interval. This interruption caused much damage to his career otherwise he might be among great heroes. Dayavan is a good movie telling the crude realities of criminal and poor life. Perhaps it is a remake of Kamal Hassan's movie and Vinod is successful in recreating the character of Shakti. Film runs on pace and plot twists grip the movie-goer but the last part of the movies seems a bit weak. Perhaps discredit goes to Adita Pancholi's weak acting. Overall, movies is worthy to be collectd and a must see for those who want real life action and story.

Sanjeev Kumar has been my favorite actor. His Characters in Andhi and Sholay were impressive or, in other words, he made them unique. But, in my opinion, Mousam is his best movie in respect of characterization. Mousam is a story of a medical student who comes across his memories after spending much part of his life. These memories contain pain and pang of lost love and emotion of repentance. When Gill realizes that he has committed a mistake by not caring for a girl who builds a sweet home of love in her dreams, he tries to compensate for her by finding her daughter but a lot of water has gone under the bridge now. The film has simple plot but the real charm is the sad environment of the movie and also its music. It is the film which bases on emotions and passions. If you are not a man with sensitivity of emotion, it is not for you. Such emotional environment can be felt in Masoom also. Masoom is also a fine movie worthy of watching and remembering.

I was much anxious about 'The Hitcher'. The other day I bought its DVD and gave a watch to it on my home theater. It was an interesting flick but there is much lacking in it. First, I never like movies with some brainless teen-agers as the central characters. They just create mess and instead of pulling the story, they are themselves pulled by the story. Other thing, when I watch a movie , I don't expect it to be like real but it would be a hard nut to crack for me to suspend my disbelief willingly to such extent that it remind me again and again that I am far away from the real world and watching a movie. In this movie villain is always omnipresent. It is quite odd. No body has the guts to stop his heinous activities. He seems not only omnipresent but also omnipotent. There is no clear reason why this psychopath is persistently after the young hero. It is an interesting movie but not a great one. I would give it six out of ten. I also recommend you Break Down of Kurt Russel. Better see Curt's movie first. The Hitcher can be your second choice. If u want to see it, just watch and enjoy it but please do not use your brain.
