Krepostnaya (2019)
Fabulous
The actor in the show absolutely incredible. It really makes you feel like you're in the same room with them through all the different scenes. It could be pretty horrific at times and I have trouble watching those parts but the acting is absolutely fabulous. They stick to their character so well. The scenery and the mansions and the costumes are fabulous as well. It is so well done these shows I have recently watched the life of a mistress, which is also a Russian film in the same era. I also watched the bloody Duchess or whatever but I didn't like that one at all was very depressing, once again, these actors are so good at what they're doing.
Profilage: Fuir (2018)
Goof
At the end of the last episode Jess tells Hyppo she is pregnant and Rocher is going in for surgery. Then at the beginning of this episode Rocher is having his surgery and Jess is about 6 or 7 months pregnant and is more or less in maternity clothes. It's a great show even though I have to read the subtitles but I can't stop watching it. The actors are really great and it's nice to see programs from other countries and the scenery. Big change from North American productions. They deal with " almost real situations" that can be rather gory at times. I think I only have two seasons to go and enjoy now.
El cuerpo en llamas (2023)
Hard to grasp
This production jumps all over the place too much. I have to keep pausing to figure out who she is with and where in the storyline it might be. I usually enjoy the Mexican and Spanish productions as they are so different from American film. I realize it's based on a true story but there could be an easier way to tell it like maybe adding years or dates as sub titles to it. Some of the characters aren't that camera friendly either. If you want a long lasting series try Malverdere. That keeps you on your toes. I am running out of things to say about this particular production so over and out. Don't know if I would recommend it.
Sky Rojo (2021)
Oh so violent
The female leads are superb actors and well cast. Nice to see how they think and do stuff. Unfortunately it makes the male leads way to violent towards women but which is rather disturbing. The action and stunts are unbelievable. The story is actually quite sad throughout. Not a movie I as a female would watch but here I am part way through season 3. Once again hats off to the gutsy females in the show. Club scenes and costumes are well done as well. I'm having to watch this with dubbing and subtitles however. Love that the episodes are pretty much half hour in length. Makes it go much quicker.
Ingobernable (2017)
Cliffhanger
I quite enjoyed the show and Kate appears to be a great actor and looks like she did quite a bit herself in the brutal scenes. HOWEVER, why do most of these shows have rotten endings. So many unanswered scenarios left unfinished. It doesn't help that I could write my own. I find many of these series filmed in Mexico or Spain do this. Find it most frustrating. Make up and Sfx departments did great jobs though.
La otra mirada (2018)
Didappointed
I enjoyed this series very much and love Spanish period pieces, however the ending was very disappointing. I would have loved to see another season to fix the storyline for most characters.
