First Kill (2017)
SAY PASS TO THIS MOVIE!!!
This movie caused lots of eyerolls & audible groans & I felt really embarrassed for the writers & producers. I was hopeful because Bruce doesn't usually do duds.
The Voice of John (2013)
A MUST FOR PARENTS & CHILDREN
Everyone needs to watch this but especially if you're are sending your kids to public schools! You don't have to believe in God or the ten commandments to know that abortion is murder. It was an eye-opener. It's unfortunate that so few people have seen this.
Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer (2018)
WHY IS THIS VIDEO NOT FOR SALE OR RENT?!
Had planned on watching this when it 1st came out and am now getting around to trying to watch it but am not able to rent or buy. REALLY? WOW! What the heck?
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
JUST WOW!
Best spooky show/movie I've seen in a long long while! The way they tie it all together is impressive! The creep factor is off the charts good. A definite must see!
Proven Innocent (2019)
LOTS OF EYE ROLLING WHEN I WATCH
You can sum up this show with one word - Trite. I'm being generous with the 3 stars. I really wanted to like as I enjoy a good court drama and love Kelsey Grammer but I can barely stand to have it playing in the background as my husband seems to enjoy it. One line I recently caught that made me cringe was something along the line of we'll be back here with a subpoena and someone will be back for your license. The delivery was pretty awful too. Poor writing. Bad acting. Just plain ol' sucks.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
HATED IT!!!! Hardly Oscar worthy!!
Will we ever again be able to watch another movie without having a hidden SJW agenda?! If this is going to be the standard of movies going forward, we're in for some major eye-rolling and I might develop a permanent condition. I've never seen so much BS rolled into one movie! I liked the concept (and I have always loved Frances!) but there was SO much gratuitous grand standing it was sickening. And what was with the blue jumpsuit? She wasn't a mechanic or a janitor. Go figure!
So it's got your evil white racist man (and we know he's evil cuz he has cancer), red neck cops, oppressed black people, a drunk wife beater, a deviant Catholic priest, socially acceptable suicide, righteous violence and vandalism, a ditzy "blonde", a midget, the "heroine" kicking two teens in the crotch in front of other children and adults (but it's ok cuz they were being mean!) and while you don't get to see him there's a reference to a fat little Mexican on a bike. So grateful I was also represented!!
The no ending "ending" pretty much says it all - the end justifies the means. Violence is ok as long as you know that the enemy is evil.
Hope someone on YouTube starts to review movies with an eye for these types of message laden Hollywood POS.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
That anyone finds this remotely good is astounding!!
I'm being generous with 5 because it was like so many other CGI movies visually dynamic. You can't but be impressed. The movie overall I personally thought was a total yawn! NOTHING! I REPEAT NOTHING like the 8 previous movies. I think I actually rolled my eyes a couple of times. Characters were dull, BORING, uninteresting and just seemed to lack any depth or personality. Usually Rowling's characters both large and small (including the villains!) are enjoyable, intriguing and you become immediately attached. The story was predictable, BORING, too drawn out, BORING and just lacked the creativity that we've become accustomed to with regard to the Wizarding World. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it and I really wanted to love it! I normally go see these 2-3 times in the theater but I will not be returning for a double dose of DULL. I probably won't buy the movie either. I almost hate myself for saying it but I am disappointed. I hope the next one is better.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (2016)
Can't help but love it!
I'm always confused when I see people give 6 out of 10 stars and then say it wasn't good... oh well. I'm a mega fan of the show and loved this 4 part series.
They had a lot to cram into 4 extended episodes and I thought they did a good job covering all of the characters we've come to know and love. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now watching it a second time.
I had no expectations but it fell right in line with the series with its silly, fun, quirky style. I wasn't sure if it would be a one time deal but I'm hopeful for more episodes now. What I'd like like to know is when will we know for sure? More please!!
Stranger Things (2016)
Lame! Lame! Lame!
5 is generous. So surprised and a little horrified to see a rating much higher than six!! I was extremely excited to see Winona as the lead actress but was immediately turned off by her performance. I'm sorry to say it but annoying is the only way to describe it. A definite Super 8 rip off & not nearly as well done despite what other reviewers might say. I'm 4 episodes in with 4 more to go. It's a bit like torture but I will finish watching them. I can't seem to get invested in any of the characters. Mike is OK. I saw one foreign viewer/reviewer refer to it as a masterpiece. RIDICULOUS!! Definitely not! Get real people! X-Files is a 9-10 not this piece of junk!
Love & Friendship (2016)
Lady Susan delivers
I'll get this out of the way & say I would have given it 10 stars but for the title. As a result there are probably more than a few people who will miss out on this movie not realizing it's a Jane Austen novel. Aside from the title, an excellent & enjoyable movie. Tom Bennett is hilarious as Sir James Martin! I'm laughing right now remembering some of his more idiotic blatherings!! Kate Beckinsale is the quintessential Lady Susan. Wicked yet funny! It was wonderful to finally see the characters from Lady Susan come to life. I'm craving a little Austen now & will have to re-read the book. Fast paced for a JA feature. No chance of getting bored!
Daredevil (2015)
Overall it's just OK
I was hoping for more. It's a little dry & slow for me. Sometimes the scenes drag on for too long. Charlie Cox makes a good Daredevil. The ass-kickery is top notch. I was pleasantly surprised about Vincent D'Onofrio taking on the roll of Fisk. He's scared me ever since Full Metal Jacket. Rosario's Claire feels genuine & believable. One of the more honest characters in the show. I wish we could see more of her and less of Deborah's Karen & Elden's Foggy characters. They are both too whiny & annoying for me to give it better than a six. I find myself skipping through their scenes more and more often. I was hoping that would change in Season 2 but it didn't.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Complete waste of time & money!!!!
Anyone claiming that this movie was anything but a complete waste of time is LYING or DELUSIONAL. I was prepared to give Ben a fighting chance but it was pure torture watching him! Is it possible that he was having a bad day throughout the entire filming? I know Ben can act so is it that he can't take direction? I don't know but I will not be watching another Batman featured movie with him in it. Henry Cavill is a superb actor and delivered as usual. Amy Adams bored me to death as usual. I had high hopes for Jesse Eisenberg but he just came across like he was on too many ADHD meds. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman was awesome and was the only redeeming thing about this movie. Still not worth spending 151 minutes of my life watching way too many flashbacks & Ben weight training, walking around & dreaming. I hope that Ben has the good grace to bow out after this travesty!
