Daisy Jones & the Six (2023)
What a mess
No...just no. I could barely get through the first episode but pushed through out of obligation to the book - my least favorite TJR book but I'm loyal. Here are a few reasons why you shouldn't watch this garbage unless you were born after 1990.
1. Daisy in the show is not the same Daisy in the book. The show paints her as more of a bubbly, smiley, happy character.
2. The characters don't age from the past to the interview period. This is a 20 year gap in the book.
3. Changing SO much from book to movie. So cliche.
4. The acting was so hard to watch, especially Daisy. I like Riley Keough but man this was torture to view - like I had second hand embarrassment for her.
5. The most ick: trying so hard - over the top - to portray the Fleeteood Mac persona. Gawd - stop it. Barf. Don't even try.
I hated this so much.
Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey (2022)
Missed & omitted too much
I appreciate the work put into this documentary but unfortunately too much was not included regarding Warren Jeffs. Some of that including the rape & molestation of the young boys, as young as 6 years old. Jeffs was a kid in a candy store - he took his pick every night as to who he would rape. His rape of several young boys led to their future suicides; multiple boys ended up killing themselves. I wonder why this chunk was not included.
Midsommar (2019)
I want my 2 hours and 40 minutes back
No, no and no. This is a dragged out, boring mess of a movie. I don't even know where to start. Also, the movie is supposed to take place in Sweden and it clearly is not Sweden.
The Lie (2018)
I loved this movie
I'm very surprised at the negative reviews, but I think if you have children, you might enjoy this a little bit more. It definitely shows the length of what parents will do to protect their children, I was glued from beginning to end. It definitely portrays teenagers in a somewhat accurate sense: although they can seem very mature, they are still incredibly immature and cannot see the bigger picture many times. And oh dear, at the end, the twist -- ahhhh! I want to watch it again!!
Derry Girls (2018)
I don't understand the rave reviews
What am I missing? I forced myself to get through the first episode and it was painful. I didn't laugh once. I don't understand why people are giving it such great reviews.
The Descent (2005)
Underrated
One of my favorites and always a go-to. This movie has the "horror" and depth that I long for in most "horror" or "thriller" genres. A solid story, great cinematography, the scare-factor, and an alluring cast with relatable personalities...so many things going for it. For someone who loves horror films, this is still my #1.
