Tank 432 (2015)
Good effort
I think a lot of folk on here just want to write vitriol, I'd rather focus on the good things.
1/ it's an Interesting little movie, a British horror/ thriller done on a tight budget.
2/ It has a decent cast, (some are miscast, you'll work out who quickly!) it has Gordon Kennedy (from 'absolutely') and he's pretty good in a non comedy role.
3/ I admire the filmmakers for using what they had available to them, presumably the locations and the tank for example, and writing a story to fit around them (many filmmakers have done this, Ed Wood jnr and Fred Olen Ray for example).
4/ if you don't like it then you can turn it off, there's plenty of other garbage out there, and most of that churned out for multiple millions by Hollywood....
The Last Bus (2021)
Tear jerker
Ok, its far from realistic, but if you want realism, watch a documentary.
Otherwise put your feet up with a nice glass of vino and let this movie tug at your heartstrings.
Vigil (2021)
Good show has some flaws
Very watchable, pacy and keeps your interest.
Ok, it's probably not very accurate, but neither is line of duty...
Special effects on a par with a good dr who episode,
It's not a Hollywood blockbuster.
Patterson Joseph and Adam James are phenomenal as the two chiefs of the sub.
I know some people have complained about sound, my advice is to buy a soundbar, the sound from modern tv screens is appalling...
Bait (2019)
Visual poetry
I think anyone who gave this film a poor rating has missed the point.
You cannot review this piece as a 'normal' film which follows a standard narrative.
It is a visual representation of sitting on a dockside watching the world go by, it is utterly absorbing, thoughtful and leaves you wanting more.
It is the antithesis of the multiplex safe Hollywood cgi digital junkfest we are used to seeing. The technique of shooting on black and white film with a clockwork camera and self processing the material obviously drives how the films pace and narrative develops because the filmmakers have to make compromises, but this somehow makes it all the more interesting.
Get it watched!
