Ice (1998)
Want this movie Ice 1998
I have searched for 3 years to find a copy of this movie for sale on DVD or VHS, anywhere on the internet after I could not get it on Amazon. Twice money was taken and then refunded, after nothing was available, does anyone know where it can be bought? I really, really want to buy this movie, I thought it was great when we saw it on ABC when it premiered, it seemed like it was a 3 hour movie, but it was not that long, and a few things really stand out, like the frozen palm trees in L.A. or Ice hard packed buried up to top lines of clay tile roofs. I understand you can view it on the Sci-Fi Channel, but that channel is not offered on our lineup, so I cannot get it from that source.
Hostage (2005)
Hostage to movie
Really object to all of the Profanity, extreme use of bad language in a movie is such a big turn off. I did enjoy the interiors of the Smith house. And the soundtrack was not bad. I do not mind seeing violence in an adult movie but really, does there have to be so gosh darn much use of profanity in such a movie? Willis's career has really come a long was from his work in television on Moonlighting. The Die Hard series is quite enjoyable. In this movie his role was like so many of his other characters. The little boy in the film had a good part and was quite entertaining to watch. And the spin of having the mob in the film and the delinquents hitting on a crime house was interesting to view.
City Beneath the Sea (1971)
Good movie if you enjoy work by Irwin Allen
As a kid I had this movie on Viewmaster in 1972, on 3 reels I really liked it then. Never had it on VHS, but was glad I waited to get it on DVD. Which finally I did. I enjoyed movie when it came out, enjoyed the cast, especially Robert Wagner, Rosemary Forsythe, and Robert Colbert, I really like all the people that were used as guest stars. And I enjoyed the city and that they used the flying sub from "Voyage to the bottom of the sea", in the movie. I liked the sets, the costumes were excellent, the US Navy really should consider naval uniforms like the costume department used in the movie, the music supplied as very good, I certainly wish this had become a Television show, at the time it aired on broadcast I thought it was a Pilot for an upcoming TV show, sadly that never happened.
Second Chorus (1940)
Second Chorus
I originally bought this movie in 1980 at a bookstore that sold tapes along with books. In the process of packing for a move and I am converting all of the tapes to DVD and WAS this one ever a shock! It is NOT a b movie but really stands out as a wonderful film. Astaire sings and dances with this wonderful flair. Arte Shaw's music is great, and the Jazz numbers while perhaps unknown by today's standards should not be overlooked, Paulette Goddard from her loss 2 years before as Scarlett shows she is a fine performer, and Burgess Meredith 24 years before Batman and 35 years before Rocky, also demonstrated he is a really good actor.
The Abduction of Saint Anne (1975)
The Abduction of Saint Anne
I saw this movie when it was first broadcast, and really liked the film. By July 1990 it was on late night TV. I noticed it was going to be on one night so I set my VCR and taped it. We are in the midst of a move so I am converting our old tapes to DVD. This was on tape # 3. And once again now 30 years later HOW much I really enjoyed this movie and still Do , perhaps much more since I am older. Excellent cast, good topic, storyline holds together. A very enjoyable TV movie. Wagner is a good pick for the lead star, and this character is somewhat a precursor to his character of Jonathan Hart, 4 years later, this character in the Saint Anne film shares many of the same interests, and values and background as Mr. Hart
Sherlock Holmes (1954)
Ronald Howard aka Sherlock Holmes
I bought this set of 20 episodes 5 years ago in Houston Texas, USA, we are in the process of a move and this set had never been opened, so I slit open the box and began watching this set to see if it was worth keeping or giving away so there is less to pack. WAS I EVER ASTONISHED, not only does Howard sound and somewhat look like his Dad, Leslie Howard, but his version of Holmes is a delight to view, for a 30 minute show this is very nice and a delight to watch with pleasure on a cold and blustery night with a warm mug of chocolate. It also has bookend video extras with a bio comment by Christopher Lee. A special treat and a joy to own, would really like the extra 19 episodes if they can be found.
