Goldfinger (1964)
The best of all times, of all..or any
Guy saw a hero, becoming a superman. He really did! Broccoli & Salztman knew that this was right, and had both the Bond-spirit. By the "film-gurus" all over the world, this has been regarded as "the most perfect film" ever made, of any kind.. It is GOLDEN
Rock Flashback: California Jam (1981)
Deep Purple at the big show..
In the beginning of 1974, an estimate of 400 000 peoples showed up. They went to see bands like; Emerson Lake & Palmer, America, Black Sabbath, Earth Wind & Fire etc. But the big one was Deep Purple. 1500 workers to handle security, hot dogs etc. Well over one million gallons of water ready, equipment enough to cover several miles, a railway to fit in the gear for each band etc etc. One of the biggest show to this writing date.
Deep Purple had a contract that said, that they were "on" at sundown. This show runned unlike other shows early. A man in charge of the show came to the band and said; Right! Your` on!! Ritchie Blackmore said; No, I`m not going..! He was waiting for the sundown like the contract said. The man from NBC started to use a invented language, screaming and shouting. Ritchie still said no. The NBC man got the local sheriff to handle Ricthie. But they locked Ritchie in a room backstage. The audience got more and more anoyed, but after about an well half-hour the sun went down. The group started with "BURN". Richie tried to tell the cameraman on stage to move back, because he needed more space. He told him about five times to move, but the cameraman on the stage didn`t listen. So Ritchie got his revenge by smashing his guitar into the cameralince. It is all in the video. At the end of the concert, Blackmores middle Marshall-rack amplifier was gonna blow up. The roadie responsible for that, wanted a big blast. So he did put too much explosives in, so the blast kicked Ritchie forward on the stage. Even keybordist Jon Lord on the other side of the stage felt the blast well. This is well showed in the video. A miracle none got hurt, according to Jon Lord in a interview. A lot of Stratocasters ended up as souvenirs to the audience this evening. This concert is really music history.
Licence to Kill (1989)
The name is Bond, James Blood
Too much violence to be Bond. "All" the good guys die, and it is the darkest Bond-film. The music is great, and there is some good scenes and some good acting. But as a fan of the series over four decades, the Dalton films are the Bond-bottom. This film has a confused editing. But of course, I would never be without this film in my Bond collection. It does NOT suck, so watch it!
Notting Hill (1999)
This is amazing
This film went straight to my heart. I have never been a big fan of Roberts or Grant, but now I see different..This film is so fresh, and is romantic, funny, even makes me think. I was not bored for one second. It even made me act: From laying back laughing and shaking, to feel romantic.. The screenplay is excellent as the rest that was needed to complete this film. This is class one for peoples with a good taste. Sounds not true? Go and find out.. Ten shining stars for the best film of the year
Titanic (1997)
Main acting to sweet, Mr.Cameroon!
This film of the legend, is amazing. Well, except one thing the millions of dollars couldn`t help. The main acting. DiCaprio and Winslet did indeed not fit in here at all. This is too sweet, Cameroon! Was it ment for fourteen year old girls or? I really like Cameroon-films. But if you like to see some really good sets, then this is one of the best. Nobody is perfect though..Scenes: 10 of 10, acting: 2 of 10.
Driving Miss Daisy (1989)
Four seasons, several years...
Why spend millions of dollars on special effects and scenes, when the actors still are most important? This movie proves all that. This movie gives a strong feeling of being back in a time I`ve never experienced myself. It is somewhere in my consciousness. This is a cozy comedy for the whole family. This film is much about how our daily life meets new inputs, and how we deal with it. Time doesn`t change, it is our daily lifes inputs. This serious comedy is as deep as it is easy, because it is more about ourselves than we sometimes think. Enjoy the art, the music, the lovely seasons.. 10 out of 10.
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992)
It`s Christmas again...
John Huges is born to make entertainment and mood. This movie is a comedy, with moral too. Many peoples complain about how anyone can survive electric shock`s, bricks in the head etc. Well, Tom & Jerry always survive these things. I mean that film industry is copying the values of the cartoon-films. If the bandits in the movie would drop dead just after one hit, it would have been "boring". One example is Jim Carrey. He is very "cartoonish"... Anyway, this film is easy to watch, has nice music, something the gross proves. Fun for the family!
The Cannonball Run (1981)
A great show-off Hal..
This movie is a show. The story is thin, as it is intended to be. Hal Needham likes to put known actors together, great stunts and make things happen just for the fun. It is nice to lay back and to enjoy this comedy, so full of stupid, sexy, fast... Hal have been lucky to direct this "party"..
Schindler's List (1993)
A Monument For LOVE
This movie is not entertainment, but terrible history that sadly goes on today. Not like in the movie, but in smaller groups around the whole world.
This movie contains more true love and hate than any movie, it has happen. Some people deny this, well, to deny is to commit suicide. They killed people like you and me. People with a reason to live. Oscar Schindler had a lot of feelings inside, thats why his breakdown at the end when he leaves. He showed feelings that he was not used to show. The meanings are severals, but always remember this: Nobody can save everybody, but everybody can save one... If you want to see this film, pick a day when your feelings are strong. It is important to let everybody understand history, and to really start to love each other. Must this movie stand as a monument for LOVE..
From Ingar Einar to the whole world and Steven
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
The instrument of armageddon..
This movie was a really big task for Albert R. Broccoli, because the bond movies got more competition than before. That`s why the movie had the huge budget. They built the largest studio-scene in the world to this writing moment! Everything was giant. They really had to get Bond on the top again, and they did. As I am an interior-consultant & designer, I see all the Bond movies as monuments for the year and time they are made. Do NOT compare them too mutch. Every film contains what`s "IN" the year it is made. For example this film; the hair style, clothes, cars, design, hi-tech etc. Even hot politics. In 1976-77, the nuclear war was near, and the world in fear for the "big one". Anyway, this film has got some lovely and funny scenes, even romantic sailing at the river Nilen, having a nice time on the train..I got all the movies and "From Russia With Love" is my favourite, but this entertaining movie is the TRUE GIANT SPY MOVIE ever made. My age suggestion is 10 years and above for watching it.
Enjoy it!!
Waterworld (1995)
"the sound of the world"
This film deserves some serious critics. I see the film as a symbol. It is about our understanding about destroying ourselves. The mariner said: "can`t you hear the sound of the world?". Anyway, this is the most difficult film ever made. Even Norwegian film-director Nils Gaup had to give the job further (Gaup is brilliant). When I went to see this film, my eyes was glued to the screen, something I normally don`t do. The fantasy-spirit has been high. But to mutate like mariner is actually possible, but it will take 1000 of years and many generations. The music is perfect fitted in. What I really want to point out, is that someone is trying to do something NEW!!
Bed & Breakfast (1991)
Art, music & breakfast..
Robert Ellis Miller & co has got an unusual taste for details. He doesn`t run around with the camera, but let you relax, study and enjoy the surroundings. The story itself is simple, it is the conversations and the meanings that is important here. The filming has been done in Maine, and that is a great reason to see this film. Roger Moore shows what class he has got.. The music is done by David Shire and "the bellamy jass band", and is of the greatest film-scores I`ve ever heard. If you are into art or music, this film is perfect!
