In the escalating chaos of the modern world, it makes sense that some gamers would leave their action-adventures and first-person shooters behind in order to focus on more easy-going titles meant to simulate a less stressful life. While I’ve personally avoided this new genre of “cozy games” due to my obsession with survival horror, I couldn’t help but find myself becoming fascinated by the release of Black Salt Games’ Dredge back in 2023.
A bizarre mix of fishing simulator and Lovecraftian horror, this addicting trek into uncharted waters is a terrifying delight and one of the best indie experiences in recent years. I’m clearly not the only one who thinks so, as production company Story Kitchen has already announced that it’ll be turning the game into a live-action horror film set to release in the near future. And while we anxiously wait for a release date, as...

Jagger Cates and Karen Wexler were among the young adult characters dominating General Hospital in the 1990s. Antonio Sabato Jr. and Cari Shayne played the characters. The soap recently brought Jagger back to Port Charles with a different actor. Do they plan to resurrect his dead ex-wife, too? Keep reading for more on the rumor.
Is General Hospital Bringing Jagger’s Dead Wife Back?
There’s been a lot of buzz lately among General Hospital fans about the possibility of Karen Wexler, Jagger’s ex-wife, returning from the dead.

The 51st Daytime Emmys brought fashion and wins to the stage.
CBS hosted the event, allowing it to be televised live for viewers to revel in what their favorite soap stars were wearing and what they were doing.
The nominations this year were all over the board, and while we had our predictions, we weren’t sure who would actually take home the coveted awards.
In a year affected by writers’ strikes, scribes wrote some of the material the actors worked with and did a good job making it their own.
While there are varying opinions about who won each category, only one can take home the statue.
Here’s which soaps won each category tailored to the genre.
Who won a Daytime Emmy?
Some categories didn’t offer an actor or actress for a particular soap. But without further do, here is a list of winners in the soap-centric categories.

“General Hospital” led night one of the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards, winning four prizes — including the outstanding daytime drama Emmy. “General Hospital” won the top daytime drama award for the fourth year in a row.
“Gh” took an early lead as proceedings got underway, including writing, directing and supporting actor performance in a daytime drama series (Robert Gossett as Marshall Ashford). While accepting the honor for daytime drama directing, the show’s team paid tribute to Johnny Wactor, the former “Gh” performer who was recently killed.
Besides Gossett from “Gh,” daytime acting awards were spread out among several shows, with CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” winning two — for lead actress (Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers) and supporting actress (Courtney Hope as Sally Spectra). CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” won the drama actor for Thorsten Kaye as Ridge Forrester, who also won last year.

The 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards are gearing up for another year of celebration. With drama series like Neighbors, The Bay, Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and Young and the Restless in the running for top honors.
Notably this year, the Australian soap opera, Neighbors, has managed two nominations. This is despite being cancelled by its original network. And later picked up by Amazon. The soap scene has seen some significant changes. Such as the removal of the younger performer award, which was last won by Eden McCoy from General Hospital.
Star power is not lacking for the Daytime Emmy Awards with the likes of Tamara Braun, Finola Hughes, Katherine Kelly Lang, Annika Noelle, Michelle Stafford, and Cynthia Watros vying for best actress in a daytime drama. For lead actors, Eric Braden, Scott Clifton, Thorsten Kay, Eric Martsolf, and John McCook are the prime contenders.

I’ve been on a bit of a Larry Fessenden kick lately either intentionally or by circumstance. I really wanted to talk about the movie Late Phases which has a cameo from the man and his name in the produced by section. This led to one of our favorites in Danielle Harris wishing that more people knew about a movie she did called Stake Land. While this had a six degrees of separation angle attached to it with Late Phases star Nick Damichi also starring and writing Stake Land, it also brought back Fessenden in his comfortable producer role, oh and another cameo. We’ve gone down another rabbit hole and heard from the man himself that The Last Winter (watch it Here) is a movie of his that he wishes had been seen by more people. This movie see’s Larry in not only his producing and cameo roles...

Not much is publicly known about Robert Shinn, the elusive and mysterious founder of 7M Films and the pastor of Shekinah Church – as seen in Netflix docuseries Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult. Indeed, Shinn seems to prefer to stick to the background and let the talent assembled by his agency get all of the attention.
Founded by Shinn and son Isaiah Shinn, 7M Films is not the biggest talent agency in the world, or the most successful, but it might be one of the most viral. 7M traditionally has not been looking to boost working actors to new heights, but to tap into a talented community of self-motivated dancers, singers, musicians, and performers who have the skills necessary to go viral on TikTok with a little help from 7M. However, viral videos and brand partnerships aren’t Robert Shinn’s first attempt at getting a taste of Hollywood glory.

Eco-horror isn’t a sub-genre that gets talked about a ton unfortunately. It can be anything from animals attacking due to their sudden craving of human flesh like Grizzly or even just due to man not putting enough respect on the name of nature like in Long Weekend. The hey day of these is undoubtedly the 70s with things like Prophecy, The Swarm, Piranha, Phase 4, and a few other standouts. We can’t seem to stop screwing up the planet and as we do, we get reminded that the planet may just fight back in ways like what is shown in Day After Tomorrow or to a hilarious degree in The Happening. A unique one that failed to make its budget back, even with good reviews and scores, is...

Of all the cautionary lessons that horror imparts, one of the most common warns us never to mess with Mother Nature. Those who are careless or hostile to the environment often meet their demises when Earth retaliates violently in eco-horror movies.

In celebration of Earth Day, an annual event in support of environmental protection, we’re looking back at some of the best eco-horror movies that remind us to take care of our planet… or else.

Two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins has signed on to star in Eyes in the Trees, a reimagining of H.G. Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau, which is co-written by “The Bay” and “Days of Our Lives” actor Mike Manning.
According to Deadline, Hopkins will portray a geneticist who has been isolated after the government stopped funding his research following the violent outbreak of one of his test subjects. Later, two renowned filmmakers and their crew embark on a journey of discovery, only to find their excursion turned into a fight for survival for themselves and the entire human race.
First published in 1896 by Wells, several adaptations of “The Island of Dr. Moreau” have since followed, including 1932’s “Island of Los Souls” and the a 1977 film “The Island of Dr. Moreau,” which starred actor Burt Lancaster. Found footage horror films have masterfully burrowed their way into the heart of the horror genre, compelling us to peek between our fingers at the screen as they blur the line between fiction and unnerving reality, whispering, “Could this actually happen?” With their handheld chaos and too-close-for-comfort storytelling, these cinematic gems have redefined what it means to be truly scared, proving that sometimes, the most terrifying monsters are those that feel like they could be lurking just outside our windows. If you’re ready to unearth some tapes, we’ve dug up 10 found footage horror movies that master the art of realism, each so convincingly crafted you might just find yourself double-checking those locks tonight.
From ghastly ghouls to paranormal activities, these films utilize hand-held chaos to bring their terrifying tales to life. But what sets them apart? Their unnerving knack for making the absurd feel utterly believable. Forget high-budget...

The early days of the pandemic were like living in some unholy vortex. Stores were indefinitely shuttered. The streets were eerily abandoned. And the threat of Covid lurked around every corner. While it has been four years since those rudimentary times, and we’ve returned to some normalcy, the danger still exists in hushed whispers and the shadows that line our periphery. When I recently reflected back upon 2020, I couldn’t help but recall a pair of apocalyptic-style films that perfectly capture the paranoia and the fear that an outbreak breeds – Barry Levinson’s The Bay and John Erick Dowdle’s Quarantine.
Mutilated bodies, shared delusions, and guttural terror. I shudder to think about the last four years of living. What could have lasted only a few weeks – remember when the lockdowns were expected to last just a fortnight? – turned into four years lost. The mere notion that the pandemic...

Actor Andrew Buchan makes his screenwriting debut with ITV thriller Passenger, and here’s the trailer.
Andrew Buchan is probably best known for playing grieving father Mark Latimer in Chris Chibnall’s whodunnit Broadchurch. He has also played the title role in drama The Fixer, as well as parts in films like Nowhere Boy, All The Money In The World and The Mercy.
He now makes his screenwriting debut with ITV thriller Passenger.
The synopsis reads as follows:
Riya (Loki star Wunmi Mosaku) arrived in the quiet town of Chadder Vale five years ago and has since been searching for something, anything that will make her feel alive again. Then one night local girl Katie Wells (Rowan Robinson) mysteriously disappears. The town barely has time to register her absence before she reappears the next day, apparently safe and sound. The townsfolk ask few questions and normal life resumes. But for Riya,...

With his character being pushed into oncoming traffic on the Tuesday, March 5 episode, thereby killing him off, actor Brian Gaskill has confirmed that his time in Genoa City as Seth on “The Young and the Restless” has ended.
In a message posted on his Instagram page, Gaskill said, “Between social media and the Internet in general, news travels ridiculously fast these days …so… yeah, that happened…(and if you haven’t seen yet, please watch… I hear Los Angeles might be preempted… so check out Paramount+ or look for Times).”
“I had a great time on ‘Young and the Restless’ with the producers, directors, publicity department, and other actors,” added Gaskill in his post. “And it was incredible to see so much support from all of my friends on social media, who have been following along over the years… So grateful for all of you. Now let’s see what comes next…...

Having been off-screen since at least July 2023, “General Hospital” actor Réal Andrews recently took to Instagram to share an update on his status at the daytime drama series, informing fans that it’s up to them as to whether the show will bring him back as Marcus Taggert.
When viewers last saw Taggert, he was on a downward spiral after learning that the daughter he believed to be his was, in fact, someone else’s through a separate relationship Portia (Brook Kerr) had with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Despite Trina (Tabyana Ali) going through the most in the months since Taggert last appeared on-screen, including the presumed death of her first love, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), one would think it was time for the character to make his return to the canvas, and possibly play out yet another twist of parental lineage.
