'Goodnight Sweetheart' was an odd choice of sitcom to be revived by the BBC for their 'sitcom season'. After all, the 1999 final episode wrapped everything up quite nicely, and gave Garry Sparrow the ending he deserved after six years of having his cake and eating it.
However, with the original writers and Nicholas Lyndhurst (who doesn't tend to sign up for any old rubbish)involved I decided to give it ago.
Yes, there were some weaker moments, and not all the jokes were funny, but this was by far one of the better of the sitcom revivals. It not only reintroduced his to the characters but you could genuinely see where the series could go from here.
I enjoyed 'Goodnight Sweetheart mark 2' and would welcome the chance to see where Garry goes next.
