Creed singer Scott Stapp has unleashed the latest song from his upcoming solo album, Higher Power, set for release on March 15th. The third single from the LP is titled “Black Butterfly,” and can be streamed below.
The new song follows previous singles “What I Deserve” and the title track. The hard-rocking tune is reminiscent of Bush in its initial verses as it leads up to an anthemic chorus and later a Middle Eastern-inspired guitar solo.
“Growth is a challenging process,” said Stapp of the song. “I often write aspirational lyrics about getting to that ‘next level’ – knowing what you’re capable of and rejecting the idea that you’re defined by your mistakes. Overcoming difficulty can lead to increased self-awareness and, in time, wisdom that can lead to helping others going through similar situations.”
As Stapp promotes his forthcoming solo album, he’s also prepping for a reunion tour with Creed.

Scott Stapp has announced his fourth solo album, Higher Power, arriving March 15th via Napalm Records.
The Creed singer also shared the new single “What I Deserve,” which follows up the previously released title track. The new song features guitarist Yiannis Papadopoulos, and touts emotional high and lows, drifting from brooding balladry to heavy, big-chord choruses. The tune comes with a shred solo from Papadopoulos, along with lyrics that ponder the intricacies of a relationship.
“We all want back what we give,” Stapp commented in a press release. “‘What I Deserve’ is about two people understanding who they are individually and coming to a place where they can express exactly what they each want, need, and deserve. The duality in the song is that both sides are expressing the same thing and coming to an understanding of the faults of the other.”

The film is his sixth as an actor, but PR Arun, the director, chose him as a relatively fresh face. “You might say I forced my way into the film,” says Niranj with surprising candour in a young actor. Depending on your willingness to go with the menacing flow, Black Butterfly either takes one twist too many or serves up a satisfying meta punch. Director Brian Goodman’s neat two-hander, largely restricted to a remote mountain cabin, gets location-expanding mileage from the deft performances of Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers as off-center characters — respectively, a blocked writer at the end of his financial rope and the presumptuous drifter who offers his assistance. As no doubt intended, their dark symbiosis unfolds as the stuff of movie contrivance, and is no less involving for it.

Antonio Banderas is ready to go three for three with his creative collaboration with Ambi Media Group, the production company headed up by Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi.
That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that after working together on both Black Butterfly and the Andrea Bocelli biopic The Music of Silence – two projects currently brewing in post-production – Banderas has signed on for Beyond the Edge, a new action-thriller to be directed by Aleksandr Boguslavskiy.
Moviegoers have become accustomed to the Spanish great headlining one drama after the next, but Banderas has dabbled in the action genre before, most recently for Sylvester Stallone’s bonkers Expendables franchise – a series that will purportedly continue with a fourth and final installment. This time around, the actor will assume the role of a deft master of fraud, with the early logline teasing what’s in store for Antonio Banderas’ protagonist.
