The Jonas Brothers are once again reviving their mid-2000s nostalgia with the announcement of a new album and future tour.
On Monday (30 January), the sibling trio – comprised of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas – were honoured with a Hollywood star at their Walk of Fame ceremony.
During the event, as the three brothers stood at the podium to accept the honour, Nick said: “We are excited to announce today that our new album, The Album, will be coming out 5 May. And we can’t wait to see you on tour later this year.”
The upcoming record marks their second since their 2019 comeback, which they celebrated with their Happiness Begins album release that year.

No single Hollywood filmmaker did more to mythologize America's manifest destiny than John Ford. His Westerns, typically shot in tandem with a larger-than-life John Wayne, told two-fisted tales of hard men who braved attacks from outlaws and resistance from indigenous people to bring a European notion of civilization to a supposedly untamed land. Technically speaking, he played a crucial role in codifying the grammar of visual storytelling (everything you ever need to know about the basics of camera placement and mise-en-scène are on display in his films), but it's really his gruff sentimentality about the brutal work of westward expansion that defines the formative majority of his oeuvre.
Though Ford allowed for shades of gray in films like "My Darling Valentine" and "3 Godfathers," he didn't explicitly sour on the myth he'd played a pivotal role in propagating until 1956's "The Searchers." In Wayne's racist protagonist, Ethan Edwards, Ford found...

What a man gotta do to successfully host the 2021 Billboard Music Awards? Nick Jonas is going to find out. On April 30, dick clark productions and NBC announced the 28-year-old singer will host the ceremony live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23. The Jonas Brothers band member seemed pretty excited about the role and posted a video of himself accepting the "preemptive 'Best Host Ever' award." Nick already knows his way around the award show. After all, he took home three trophies last year with his brothers Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, winning Top Duo/Group, Top Radio Songs Artist and Top Radio Song for their hit "Sucker." Nick Jonas In Talks To Play Frankie Valli In Streaming Version Of Tony-Winning ‘Jersey Boys’ Musical
Exclusive: Nick Jonas is in talks to play Frankie Valli in a streaming event performance of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Jersey Boys, sources said Monday. I’m hearing that the event will be produced by Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Graham King and the original Broadway producers the Dodgers, with Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio. It hasn’t been set up yet, but I’m hearing a landing place at a streamer is anticipated, as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton became an event on Disney+ last year. The package is coming together quickly as a PG-13 undertaking.
Jonas will sing the song catalog that Valli and the Four Seasons built up in a show that traces his origins from Newark to the top of the charts in the ’60s. Jonas is part of the hitmaking Jonas Brothers, who’ve earned three consecutive No. 1 albums and have sold out shows throughout three continents.

If you’re already deep into the new PS4 game “Ghost of Tsushima” and you haven’t toggled on Kurosawa Mode, the optional black and white filter that makes everything resemble the samurai films of Japanese auteur Akira Kurosawa, do so immediately.
But any new players should know that Kurosawa Mode is available in “Ghost of Tsushima” right out of the box. And if you’re a crazy enough film buff to want to really be immersed in that samurai world, Sucker Punch art director Jason Connell says you can and should consider playing the entire game that way.
“We wanted it to be something that you can first of all turn on as soon as you start the game,” Connell, the game’s co-creative director and art director, told TheWrap. “You can pick it from the very beginning because there are some great cutscenes that set up the story,...

When it comes to musicals, Skylar Astin is a seasoned pro. In addition to his role in the Pitch Perfect films, the actor has starred on Broadway and made appearances on shows like Glee and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Now, he's stepping right back into the spotlight with his role on NBC's new musical dramedy, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. The show follows the life of a computer coder named Zoey (Jane Levy) who suddenly develops the ability to hear people's inner thoughts through popular songs, including that her best friend Max (Astin) has been harboring secret feelings for her.
"We use a different kind of imagination. It's a little bit more cerebral and ethereal in how music is interwoven."
While the show certainly feels reminiscent of Glee or Pitch Perfect, one of the main things that drew Astin to the script was that it offers something completely new to the musical genre.

A version of this story about Thelma Schoonmaker and “The Irishman” first appeared in the Down to the Wire issue of TheWrap’s Oscar magazine.
Let’s face it: It was only a matter of time before Thelma Schoonmaker would at least tie Michael Kahn as the most-nominated film editor in Oscar history — and when she got there, as she did this year, it was always going to be for another of her collaborations with director Martin Scorsese.
“The Irishman,” her record-tying eighth nomination, is the 21st feature Schoonmaker has made with Scorsese, the 22nd if you count Michael Wadleigh’s 1970 documentary “Woodstock,” on which she and Scorsese were both editors. The two are one of the classic director/editor relationships in Hollywood history, which has led to those eight nominations and to wins for “Raging Bull,” “The Aviator” and “The Departed,” which also ties her for the most ever.

It could be an entertaining spectacle, if you ignored the crumbling institutions it was built upon and the creeping fear in the air — but enough about life in 21st century America. The Grammys have their own problems, with the show going on in the face of a roiling crisis at its governing body, the Recording Academy, after recently dismissed CEO Deborah Dugan dropped a long list of grave allegations against it, including rampant gender bias and corruption around the awards process. (The Academy denies it all.)

The Jonas Brothers had the support of their respective wives as they attended the Grammys on Sunday night. The group, who was up for best pop duo/group performance for "Sucker," looked super dapper in looks by Ermenegildo Zegna XXX as they hit the red carpet together. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra wore shimmery ensembles, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner rocked darker shades, and Kevin and Danielle Jonas mixed-and-matched with gold and silver looks. The brothers also sported purple ribbons, which were reportedly in honor of former NBA star Kobe Bryant, who recently died in a helicopter crash.
The brothers also hit the Grammys stage for the first time in over a decade. In addition to performing "What a Man Gotta Do," they also sang a new song titled "Five More Minutes." During a Shazam video, the brothers revealed that the new songs would be part of a "forthcoming album.

I interviewed James Coburn in late 1998 for the cover story of the February 1999 issue of Venice Magazine. I had grown up watching Coburn on the late show, but also seeing him on the big screen, first-run. Meeting him was a thrill as he entered the living room of his manager, the late Hilly Elkins', home in Beverly Hills. Coburn was elegant, charming and had the grace of a cat. The only thing that revealed the health problems that had nearly done him in were his gnarled hands, the result of severe arthritis. We spoke about his role in Paul Schrader's newest film, "Affliction," which would earn him a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award. Later, as I walked Coburn to his Acura Nsx sport coupe, he bid me a warm farewell.
Several months later, I encountered him again at The Independent Spirit Awards, in Santa Monica. I went up...

A Cannes trailer for Sucker has arrived. This is the creature feature we've been reporting on for quite some time... Will someone step up and distribute this daffy flick?
Director Michael Manasseri plays Jim Crawley in the film, a dude having a really bad day. He's fired from his job, his car gets impounded then he finds out his wife's having an affair.
To make matters worse, Jim gets himself abducted by an evil scientist looking to conduct human testing for a vaccine against a deadly mosquito borne virus spreading across the world in a deadly outbreak.
It turns out that years of exposure to nuclear radiation and rabid mosquito DNA don't mix very well and Jim transforms into a half man-half mosquito, hell bent on revenge.

The second trailer for Sucker has arrived, a spin on the original preview , except here a "grindhouse" effect has been added. That's some new promo art you're seeing to the left, as well, cooked up for the forthcoming American Film Market in hopes of finding a distributor looking for "man turns into a mosquito" fare. And I really do hope this finds a home soon. Just looks too fun to have sitting on the shelf out of our hands. It’s been a few months since I’ve heard anything regarding Michael Manasseri’s upcoming creature feature “Sucker”, so it’s nice to see that this one hasn’t fallen by the wayside. Below you’ll find a brand new clip from the flick, which finds a nude musician encountering an extremely randy mosquito-human hybrid. The video doesn’t reveal much, though it does suggest “Sucker” has a pretty odd sense of humor. That, in my opinion, is a huge, pulsating plus. And if you missed the previously posted trailer, you can scope it out by clicking right here. For even more info, swing by the film’s official website. Here’s a subgenre that doesn’t get much action these days: mutant mosquito slashers. To be fair, there was never really a huge demand for horror flicks featuring murderous man-sized mosquitoes terrorizing a cast full of vapid, paper-thin characters, but there are some of us out there who don’t mind spending our free time with such drivel. Michael Manasseri’s upcoming gorefest “Sucker” looks absolutely insane, particularly to those of us who have a soft spot for “Mansquito”. Yes, believe it or not, that film has its fans. Not many, mind you, but enough to fill a church basement on the first Friday of every month. Specifically, here’s what the film has to offer: Jim Crawley is having a really bad day. He gets fired from his job at the nuclear power plant, his car is impounded and he discovers his wife having an affair. To make matters worse,...
