Bluey-mania continues.
The Disney+ series was at the top of Nielsen’s streaming charts with nearly 1.2B minutes viewed from April 29 to May 5. The new episodes that dropped the week prior surely gave it a boost, but Bluey is a mainstay on this list, racking up over a billion minutes pretty frequently.
In fact, Nielsen points out that Bluey has been in the overall Top 10 for well over a year now, and this marks its fourth time at No. 1.
It should also not surprise anyone that Grey’s Anatomy came in second place with around 1.1B minutes viewed. It’s unclear what is prompting this resurgence in the medical drama, since it’s been available on both Hulu and Netflix for quite a while.
Fallout fell to third place this week but still posted over a billion minutes viewed, which is quite impressive for the eight-episode Amazon series. It was No.

The Netflix special roasting NFL great Tom Brady made onto the streaming charts for the week it premiered — despite it only be up for a few hours of that week.
The Roast of Tom Brady racked up 279 million minutes for the week of April 29-May 5, good for 10th place among original series in Nielsen’s rankings. The special streamed live on May 5, meaning it tallied those viewing minutes in under 12 hours. (With a running time of almost three hours, the 279 million minutes equates to about 1.6 million complete runs of the special.)
Bluey moved back into the top overall spot with 1.18 billion minutes of viewing on Disney+, adding to its total as the most streamed title in the United States so far this year (21.73 billion minutes and counting). Fallout, which had led the previous three weeks, slipped to third overall with 1.08 billion minutes of viewing on Prime Video, while Grey’s Anatomy...

The Netflix effect continues.
The O.G. streamer has seen major viewership success with the licensing of older titles from other producers since last year, when the long-concluded USA legal drama “Suits” dominated the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for weeks on end. Since then, several library titles have seen similar trajectories.
The newest example of the Netflix effect is “The Judge,” a 2014 film starring Robert Downey Jr. that was streamed for 703 million minutes in its first five days on Netflix. That made it the seventh-most-streamed title of the week of April 29-May 5, holding its own compared to TV titles with much longer running times.
Also notable on this week’s chart was “Dead Boy Detectives,” which rose to become the No. 8 most-streamed title with 699 million minutes watched in its first full week on Netflix after missing the overall Top 10 and instead landing at No. 3 on the streaming originals chart last week,...

It’s a known fact that the Fallout franchise is one of Bethesda’s longest-running and most popular series, rivaling Elder Scrolls. With the debut of the popular Amazon live-action show, many new and old fans are flocking to the backlog of titles while waiting for what may come next from Bethesda.
Fallout games, old and recent, have garnered acclaim from critics and gamers thanks to their gameplay, story, characters, and, most importantly, terrifying creatures. Recently, in a video about designing creatures in Fallout games, one of the former Bethesda artists shared his stories and approach to designing one of the franchise’s most iconic monsters, Mirelurk King.

There’s no doubt that the Fallout series, to put it mildly, is having a bit of a moment. The success of the Amazon TV show has generated a huge wave of players who have installed the most recent Fallout games to continue enjoying the unique ambiance of the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Many fans are desperate for Fallout 5, but things look bad. It’s already been confirmed that Bethesda is currently working on Elders Scroll 6. This means we’re quite a few years away from the next entry in the Fallout franchise. While that’s dissapootining, Todd Howard has already revealed the game’s potential setting and location.

Bethesda Game Studios is undoubtedly a titan in the RPG genre, churning out critically acclaimed franchises like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Their games notoriously take very long to make, and often times, the inner workings of this creative powerhouse remain somewhat opaque.

In the early stages of Fallout 4‘s development, the super mutants were envisioned to have a much more human appearance. Jonah Lobe, the artist behind these characters, initially designed them to inspire empathy and deeper storytelling.
Lobe’s goal was to encourage the game’s designers to write more quests and dialogue for the super mutants, showcasing their emotional range and potential for complex narratives.
The Potential Design That The Super Mutant’s Almost Had
Lobe explained in a recent YouTube video that this decision might have been influenced by the small size of Bethesda’s team during Fallout 4‘s development. With only about 100 developers, compared to much larger teams at other game studios, there were simply not enough resources to fully flesh out the more human-like super mutants.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are longtime friends, but the two had never worked together. “Fallout” proved to be the perfect starting point. “Graham wrote one of my very favorite unproduced pilots ever, which was to the great ‘Star Trek’ show ‘Worf,’ which Graham always described as the ‘Baskets’ of a ‘Star Trek’ show,” Robertson-Dworet tells Gold Derby (watch above). “But I think what it showed me was that he has a really unique sensibility and he brought to that show — which is a very popular world that has been explored and very serious sci-fi tone for a long time — a lot of just sort of surprising comedy. And I think that was what ‘Fallout’ needed and I was very excited to partner with my longtime friend Graham. And when [Jonathan Nolan] offered me the IP for ‘Fallout,’ I knew I was never gonna do it alone. I was only...

The history of Hollywood adapting video games in movies and TV shows has been a little spotty, to say the least, but in recent years, I think the tide has been turning. With shows like The Last of Us and Fallout, video game fans have developed a little hope to see their favorite adapted into a great piece of art and while there will still be wasted efforts like Netflix’s The Witcher and Paramount+’s Halo, they are still only two shows. So, in keeping with that spirit of hope we created a list of the 10 best TV shows that were adapted from video games, they can be original stories in the world of video games but they have to be connected to the original IP.

“Fallout 76” has found a whole new world of players thanks to the popularity of Amazon’s “Fallout” TV series. The Bethesda Game Studios title, which first launched in October 2018, crossed 20 million downloads and plays as of Wednesday.
That is a jump from the 17 million players “Fallout 76” had totaled in December, ahead of the April 10 release of Jonathan Nolan’s “Fallout” TV adaptation on Prime Video.
“It’s kind of been sneaky popular for a while — but not to this level and it’s just been really great for the for the whole studio,” Bethesda director and executive producer Todd Howard, who oversees the “Fallout” franchise, told Variety.
In the under two months since the series premiered (and has already been picked up for a second season), daily active users across the “Fallout” video game franchise titles developed and published by Bethesda, a division of Microsoft Gaming, have ballooned over 600% to more than 5 million players.

Described as “Skyrim in space” by director Todd Howard, Starfield opened up to praise for its open-world setting. However, it was supposed to be a big step towards RPGs and space exploration, and it is still working towards the goal after almost eight months of the launch. Love it or hate it, the game does have a lot of scope for improvement.

Games like Skyrim and the Fallout series owe their existence to Wayne Gretzky, the former professional ice hockey player and head coach in Canada.
This might sound ridiculous; there’s no obvious connection between Gretzky and these games at first glance. However, one interview with Bethesda’s executive producer, Todd Howard, shows us exactly how the ice hockey legend’s existence eventually gave way to several classic video games.
How One Man’s Existence Leads to Games Like Skyrim From Skyrim to Starfield, we have one man to thank for kickstarting it all.
In an interview with Esquire, Howard details exactly how he got his start at Bethesda. It all started with his love for video games. Back in the 80s, he already showed an interest in games; not just in playing them, but in wanting to understand how they worked.
Even though he was a business major, video games were called to his heart.

Call of Duty is no stranger to controversies, and there’s a new one that has grappled with players as of late. The highly anticipated Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone collaboration with Fallout is not so anticipated anymore after skins from the event leaked and were met with disapproving eyes.

While the game might not end up as 2024’s best release, the long-awaited sequel already stands out as one of the most technically accomplished games out there. With its reputation for massive single-player RPGs like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, Bethesda tried its hand at the multiplayer genre with Fallout 76 in 2018. While the game offered a unique online experience set in a typical post-apocalyptic Fallout wasteland, not all was merry.
Fallout 76‘s launch was marred by technical problems such as bugs, glitches, missing features, and a general sense of incompleteness. While Bethesda games aren’t known to be the most polished at launch, FO76‘s problems were quite egregious and a big disappointment for fans.

Christopher and Jonathan Nolan aka the Nolan brothers have been an integral part of the movie industry for many years now. A director and a writer, they created 2008’s iconic The Dark Knight together, among other things — and according to Jonathan Nolan, it was that experience of working with his brother that helped him adapt Fallout. Otherwise, Prime Video’s latest sensation wouldn’t have existed now.
Fallout Creator Is Cautious with Big Franchises
At an FYC screening of Fallout’s first episode, Christopher Nolan interviewed his brother Jonathan about the new TV show.
He asked about his brother’s approach to adapting a massive and well-established franchise, specifically, a video game one, to small screens, and the writer admitted he was very self-conscious with it.

He asked about his brother’s approach to adapting a massive and well-established franchise, specifically, a video game one, to small screens, and the writer admitted he was very self-conscious with it.

Todd Howard serves as the CEO of Bethesda Game Studios and directed a handful of video games from different franchises like Fallout, the Elder Scrolls, and his most recent project: Starfield. Most of his games are massive and players can scour the map for rare collectible items to find.
The Moonwatch holds a special place in the heart of the director, especially after learning the origin behind it. It appears that love knows no bounds and his wife, Kim Howard, knew how to express her appreciation and gifted him a watch that means a lot to the director.
Todd Howard’s Generous Wife Impacted Starfield
Todd Howard integrated his personal experience into his dream project.
The director had high hopes for the project and gave it his all. He is quite optimistic about the release of the upcoming Starfield Shattered Space expansion and even gave away the potential release window a few weeks ago.

Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Season 3 (also known as Wrecked) has turned the island into a playground for road rage and fist fights. The new vehicle customizations ensure that no one is safe unless they’re in a vehicle equipped with dangerous gear.
As tradition goes, the new season is anything but balanced. Vehicular mods are taking over the combat mechanics, and players have been struggling against those in cars that are practically bulletproof and equipped with machine gun turrets on top.
Leaks Suggest That Stronger Weapons Are Coming to Fortnite Some of the older weapons are coming back to the game.
According to popular leaker Hypex on Twitter, a range of weapons are coming back to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3. This includes the Heavy Sniper Rifle, Minigun, Flintlock and more. Some of these weapons can be highly effective against vehicles, considering the context of Wrecked.

We were first introduced to William Brandt in 2011's Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. Played by Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner, it was widely reported when he was cast that the actor was being eyed to take over the franchise from Tom Cruise.
The Bourne Legacy's poor performance the following year is rumoured to have led to those plans being scrapped, as did Cruise deciding he wanted to stick around as Ethan Hunt after all.
Renner did, however, return for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, only to have disappeared by the time Fallout rolled around (it was briefly mentioned that the character "retired").
Talking to Collider (via ActioNewz.com) about Mayor of Kingstown season 3, Renner elaborated on his departure from the Mission: Impossible franchise, and it sounds like he was the one who chose to walk away from the popular action franchise.

The show also became the 2nd most-watched title on Prime with over 65 million viewers in only 2 weeks of its debut. A year after the Hollywood strikes turned Emmy campaigning into a bit of a muted endeavor, For Your Consideration events are back in a big way for 2024. The networks, studios and streamers have already launched a bevy of activations to celebrate their awards contenders, on top of the usual round of panels, with their stars back on stage front and center.
What a difference a year makes. In 2023, FYC events were forced to pivot when the Writers Guild strike got underway on May 2 — right as campaigning was kicking into high gear. In most cases, series stars didn’t feel comfortable continuing with events. Then talent hit the picket lines for their own strike in mid-July, right after Emmy nominations were announced.
At that point, it was up to directors and artisans to promote their shows. “We definitely did a lot of jazz hands last year to kind of make people feel good,...

Landing a role in season three of The White Lotus still feels surreal for Walton Goggins.
The actor recently opened up to the Los Angeles Times about the ups and downs throughout his acting career, as well as the moment he learned he got the role in Mike White’s Emmy-winning HBO series.
“They said, ‘Before we do anything, we have to tell you something,” Goggins recalled of a conversation with his agents. “You just got an offer for The White Lotus, and it’s a very good role.’ I said, ‘Could you say that again?’ They said, ‘Mike wants you.’”
He continued, “I said, ‘Could you excuse me a minute?’ I walked outside and I start bawling. Crying uncontrollably. I called my wife (Nadia Conners), shaking, and she said, ‘I fucking knew it!’ When we were watching it one time, she had said, ‘Why don’t you do The White Lotus?...

Walton Goggins Says Making ‘The White Lotus’ Is ‘Meta on Every Level’: ‘We’re Guests…Playing Guests’
Walton Goggins has been around for a while. His first credited acting roles date back to 1992, when he would’ve only been 21, and his supporting turns on FX’s “The Shield” and “Justified” helped him craft an image that appealed to the likes of big-name directors like Quintin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg. Goggins, now 52, is taking on roles he never would’ve dreamed of, like his standout performance as The Ghoul in Amazon Prime’s television adaptation of the “Fallout” video-game series and an upcoming role in the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s “The White Lotus.” However, in a recent interview with the LA Times, Goggins remembered a time in his career where his success wasn’t looking like a certainty.
“I was talking to my agent,” Goggins said, reflecting on a lull in work, “and asked him, ‘Why is it so hard?’ And he said, ‘It isn’t hard,...

In the finale of Prime Video’s Fallout, we learn who nuked Shady Sands and why. It was Hank MacLean all along — Vault-Tec’s appointee at the head of Vault 33, he single-handedly destroyed the capital of the New California Republic and killed thousands of people… All because his wife ran away and threatened to expose his secrets, and also the Ncr was kind of blocking the sun.
But if we assume that Hank used nuclear bombs, things start falling apart quickly.
Hank Couldn’t Have Gotten Actual Bombs
The obvious option when you want to nuke a major city would be bombs, but that’s where we run into several questions. The biggest and most important one is, how could Hank MacLean, a low-ranking Vault-Tec employee, have gotten access to his corporation’s nuclear weapons? He could have called up his buddy Bud,...

Jonathan Nolan is no stranger to adaptions of popular media, with the writer starting his career when his brother, Christopher Nolan, adapted his short story into the feature film Memento. During a recent interview, Nolan shared his take on the increase in television adaptations in Hollywood. Jonathan Nolan has certainly begun to make a name for himself in the mainstream media. While he has made many worthwhile and critically acclaimed projects over the years, none have managed to get as much attention as the recently released, Fallout. When the adaptation of the iconic video game was originally announced, fans were naturally very nervous. However, since its release, all its reviews have been nothing but positive.
Jonathan Nolan [Credit: Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast]Knowing how well he has been able to contribute to making sure the adaptation was just as accurate as it was entertaining, it would not be surprising that more retellings are coming his way. However, it would seem that there are two franchises Nolan refuses to take part in.

10. 11.22.63 (2016)
A large part of Fallout’s charm is its retro futurism that makes use of the 1960–1970s aesthetic. If you’re a sucker for that aesthetic, look no further than 11.22.63: in this sci-fi drama, we travel into the past alongside James Franco to try and prevent Kennedy’s assassination… And grow terrifyingly close to his new life in the past.
You can watch 11.22.63 on Apple TV and Prime Video.
9. The Shield (2002–2008)
Another big hook of Fallout is the complete lawlessness of the Wasteland despite there being some people who call themself “the law.” If you’re into that whole “dirty and corrupt law enforcers” kind of thing, The Shield is for you: set in a fictional completely lawless district of LA, this show follows a unit of really, really bad cops.

When the Emmy nominations are announced July 17, something will happen that hasn’t happened in 50 years: The nominees for best drama series will include only one previously nominated show, Netflix’s The Crown. I would love to be able to say that’s because there are so many great dramas out there and that TV Academy members are diligently watching them and championing different great ones this year. But the truth is, this field, historically among the strongest each season, now looks like a wasteland.
Such perennial nominees as HBO’s Succession and Westworld and AMC’s Better Call Saul have ended, along with second-tier contenders like Paramount+’s The Good Fight and Star Trek: Picard. Some ongoing, previously nominated shows were not back in time to be eligible, in some cases because of delays caused by the writers and actors strikes, including Netflix’s Stranger Things, Squid Game and Bodyguard; HBO/Max’s Euphoria,...

The Regency era dominated TV screens during the week of May 17-23, as “Bridgerton” took not one, not two, but three top spots on Luminate’s weekly streaming ranking charts.
In its first full week of availability, Season 3 Part 1 of the Shonda Rhimes-produced Netflix series hit 2.3 billion minutes watched, the No. 1 title by far. Season 1 took second place with 498.6 million minutes watched, followed by Season 2 with 434 million minutes watched. It’s clear that “Bridgerton” will continue to dominate streaming rankings for weeks to come, not only because of the show’s obvious popularity, but because Season 3 still has four episodes yet to come on June 13.
Two titles tied as the next-most-watched of the week: Season 2 of Amazon Prime Video's "Outer Range," which was the No. 4 TV series, and Netflix's "Mother of the Bride," the top movie. Both were watched for 256.4 million minutes in their first full weeks of availability.

Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite is here and is bringing a ton of changes, collaborations, and skins to the table. Wrecked is the name of this new content that will bring Metallica and Fallout to the game. The battle pass will also add the popular Marvel villain, Magneto, in a very post-apocalyptic style.
Fans are very happy with this new collaboration, especially after seeing the different variations of the skin. The Marvel character will be introduced in the middle of the season as an event skin that will have several quests.
Magneto Is One of the Main Collaborations for Fortnite’s Current Season Magneto variants in Fortnite are amazing according to fans.
The post-apocalyptic theme has significantly altered the game’s map, The Wasteland, similar to Fallout or Mad Max. The vehicles will also be totally different from the previous season of Fortnite. Players will have the ability to arm the...

The immense rise in popularity of Fallout 4 in recent weeks, due to the Fallout TV series on Amazon Prime, has left fans eagerly speculating about what Fallout 5, the next chapter in the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise, will hold.
While Bethesda remains tight-lipped about the official setting of the next game, a persistent theory has emerged that injects an interesting (and mutated twist) into the franchise’s formula – a return to the concept of a Fallout game set in New York City.

The notion originates from Twitter user SynthPotato, who claimed that New York was the original setting for Fallout 4. According to them, Bethesda not only envisioned the Big Apple as a potential wasteland, but also created a complete design document for it, However, the concept...

Out of Fallout’s four main characters, Cooper Howard aka the Ghoul wins all the charisma and first impression prizes possible, without a doubt. This Deadpool of the Wasteland is tough as nails, virtually unkillable, and cynical beyond any belief son of a gun, and that’s why we love him so much — but at the same time, he’s sadistic and messed up in more ways than we can be bothered to name.
But for lead star Walton Goggins, the Ghoul is his baby, so the actor will defend him despite his very obvious… Flaws, shall we call it.
The Ghoul Star Defends His Character
Recently, Walton Goggins took part in Amazon’s Anatomy of a Character where they took a deep dive into Cooper Howard’s past, present, and future. When the topic of his relationship with Lucy MacLean came up, Goggins disagreed with the common sentiment that...
