A mix of pure emotions. The director reveals an enormous sensitivity and intimacy with the protagonists. Nobody leaves indifferent. A film that leads us to rethink our life.

City of (hidden) artists

Moya's humane approach to street performers in this documentary film is commendable. He could have easily used the opportunity to indulge in voyeurism, fleshing out the sob details of each person's hardships in life. Instead, he made me discover a city I thought I already knew well and I have since looked at street performers differently.

An ode to free spirits
I saw Luís Moya's ilm at its premiere, in Fantasporto 2020. It was a realy emotional and special experience in all ways. The room was full of friends and supporters who were there to watch a film, but above all to support a friend, he himself an artist "de résistance". The subject of the film is street artists, our everyday hero. Throughout the film and their beautifull visually told stories, we learn to love them and feel for them at every step of the story. They are the ones who dared to step outside the box of what is socially acceptable and followed their sense of freedom and creativity with all its pains and glories. The film is beautifully shot, the director's sensibility and love towards his characters and the work of film is felt throughout the story and the result is a beautifully crafted piece of work that can touch anyone in any part of the world. In the end there was a standing ovation and some tears from all who were deeply moved by a sense of love towards art, towards living in freedom, towards the love and perseverance of following our dreams. Highly recommend it.

(Inside) Behind the Coin

The musicians who fill our streets have incredible stories to tell, in this documentary we are presented to some of them. Without overlapping the stories that need to be told, Luis Moya introduces us to the artists, the difficulties, but above all, how much they like to create their art and survive doing what they love. In a particular way, the director interacts with them on the streets, so that each can open their own heart. Behind the Coin we have people, and in this documentary we can see them.

A full body film

As the name sugest, the film is about whats behind a street performer and their lifes.

The film is so full of content that its impossible to feel bored for one second. I went to see it 3 times and in every time I was able to apreciate diferent subjects, such as persons, buildings, actions, sounds, interections.... The Film is not only a master piece of art, but also a compitaltion of technical skils, directing skills, story articulation skills and, very important, a very strong human side.

Althought is a kind of documentary film, its realy cativating and engaging. I dare to say its one of my top 10 favorite movies.

I hope to see it soon on DVD or digital support.

Perfect!

The perfect combination of different stories of street performers and the director's sensitivity to the theme. It is a super interesting portrait about the life of those who present their art on the streets.

The film lives from the stories of the protagonists, but also much from the delivery and passion that the director puts into every detail.

Through the lens of the director, we get to know these people that we usually see sitting on the ground of a street, with a shoebox or a cap in front of them, often discriminated and labeled as beggars.

Excellent photography!!!

Excelent director!!!!
