Bob Morton: I still don't know why he had to road-test the car. You're getting a great bargain for 395 dollars.
Julie Cooper: Yeah, but it's just that we don't know that much about cars, Bob. We want to make sure it's dependable.
Bob Morton: Dependable? It's got over 200,000 miles on it. How much more dependable can a car get? And I'm only the second owner.
Barbara Cooper: Its got over 200,000 miles on it?
Bob Morton: Well, the first 196,000 miles it was a taxi.

A very good episode
I was in my teen years when this show first aired and cant remember too much of watching it back then but caught the new car episode tonight on antenna. The banter between Bonnie Franklin and Joseph Campanella was the best - whoever wrote their lines in this episode was spot on. It was good to see Anne get a dose of her own medicine from her ex husband too because it seemed that she was trying to make him out to be the bad guy when she herself had issues. It was good to see him take her down a notch. Too bad there wasn't more of Joseph Campanella on the show as he was a damn good actor. I think he would have made the show more bearable in the long run.
