- TriviaAfter meeting Skyler, Buffy allows him to depart unharmed rather than slaying him, noting that he seems harmless. This marks the widening of one of the Buffyverse's overall themes, that demons are capable of being benign whereas soulless vampires are not, a concept introduced in Becoming: Part 1 (1998) and explored more fully in Angel (1999).
- GoofsWhen Angel and Faith meet with Mayor Wilkins, the Mayor tells Angel not to kill Buffy too fast as he doesn't want a new Slayer popping up anytime soon. Even if Buffy is killed there wouldn't be a new Slayer to take her place. Kendra was her replacement after the master killed her in the first season. Then when Kendra died at the hand of Drusilla, Faith was called. So the only way another Slayer can be called is if Faith dies. This isn't necessarily true. Having two active Slayers is unprecedented. The only way to test it is to actually kill Buffy again. The Mayor (or anyone else) couldn't be sure and he doesn't want to take the chance.

Buffy Summers: I never knew you had so much rage in you.
Faith: What can I say? I'm the world's best actor.
Angel: Second best.

Good Writing
I was taken with this episode. Faith is such an awful character. Apparently her mother didn't buy her a dog when she was little and this turned her into what she is. I was wondering how the whole Angel thing was going to work out. She felt she could use her female wiles on him and he would lose his soul. So the mayor hires a menacing figure to put a spell on Angel and in the process torture and kill Buffy. The scenes where Angel reverts are quite good and there is a neat twist. The problem now is that there are so many eisodes until we get to the one called Graduation Day. I think it's more than the kids who graduate. Upward and onward.
