Carly Reeves wasn’t pleased about being the first person eliminated on season 2 of ABC’s Claim to Fame. The niece of Oscar-winner Tom Hanks gave an awards-worthy performance of her own – complete with an ear-splitting scream and tears – after a fellow contestant correctly guessed the Saving Private Ryan star was her uncle in the show’s June 26 episode.
Reeves’ connection to Hanks landed her a spot on the competition series, which brings together a group of 12 celebrity relatives and challenges them to discover the identity of each other’s famous family members. But that’s not her only celebrity connection. Reeves may have also worked at Lisa Vanderpump’s Sur.

Warning: This story contains spoilers from “A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Valentine’s Day,” the March 7 episode of “How I Met Your Father,” now streaming on Hulu.
Does Lizzie McGuire grow up to be Sophie Tompkins? It sure looks like. During Tuesday’s episode of “How I Met Your Father,” the group reflects on their past Valentine’s Day experiences. When it’s Sophie’s (Hilary Duff) turn, she has a flashback to when she was 13. Then, a clip of the Season 2 premiere of “Lizzie McGuire,” which aired in Feb 2002, is shown, during which she’s talking on the phone to her boyfriend while Miranda (Lalaine) is at her side.
So, does that mean that Sophie and Lizzie are the same person? “I’m not confirming that, but it felt like a really fun thing for us to do,” executive producer Elizabeth Berger tells Variety. “We got a temperature check from Hilary,...

This was obviously in a very different capacity, so that took a little second to just wrap my brain around,” Duff admits to TV Insider. “But it was fun working with John, and he’s a larger than life kind of guy, and he really brought that to the role. I was grateful. He’s got a lot of ideas.” The casting was revealed in the Season 2 trailer, which also showed Sophie’s friends getting on her case a bit about dating an older man … without realizing that Corbett’s character is that person. “I loved the...

“Cats” looks like it’ll dominate the Razzie Awards this weekend, but there’s one category where it will probably be mercifully passed over: Worst Actress. Think that three-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring that Matthew Koma just gave Hilary Duff is impressive? That beauty is nothing compared to Hilary's net worth. Ever since she relocated to Hollywood at the tender age of 6 to begin her acting career, the former Disney Channel starlet has been raking in revenue from TV shows, movies, albums, novels, and fashion lines, even earning the 72nd spot on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2007 for making $12 million that year alone. But that was so yesterday - how much is the 31-year-old Younger star worth now? Let's break it down.
After playing several small roles in movies like Playing by Heart, Casper Meets Wendy, and The Soul Collector, Hilary got her big break in 2001 when she was cast as the titular character in Disney Channel's mega hit TV show Lizzie McGuire. The show ran for two seasons and 65 episodes, even inspiring a movie in 2003 that grossed over $55 million worldwide.

Kate Hudson Calls Steven Tyler "Papa" in New Photo of Him Cradling Her Baby Bump — Are They Related?
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is neither Kate Hudson's father — that would be musician Bill Hudson — nor her stepfather figure — that would be Kurt Russell, longtime partner of Kate's mom, Goldie Hawn. So if they're not related, why does the 38-year-old actress keep referring to Steven as "Papa"? A post shared by Kate Hudson (@katehudson) on Apr 16, 2018 at 10:51am Pdt Case in point: When she posted her Monday, April 16 Instagram pic of Steven with his arms around her pregnant belly, Kate wrote, "Baby girl got some good hugs from Papa Tyler this weekend." And in September 2016, Kate posted a selfie of herself with "Papa Steven" after they bumped into one another on a flight. As it turns out, the rocker is sort of a father figure to Kate, and it's all thanks to The Leftovers star Liv Tyler, his actual daughter. As Yahoo reports, Kate and Liv were high...

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of film and TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Monday.
This week’s question: “The Book of Henry” has been assailed by critics. But let’s look beyond this particular reviled new release. What’s the worst movie you’ve ever reviewed?
Alissa Wilkinson (@alissamarie), Vox
It’s unfortunately not even a contest: “God’s Not Dead 2,” which I reviewed for Flavorwire and then wrote about it further for Thrillist. (The first movie is actually far worse, but I didn’t review it.) They’re actually not the worst-made movies I’ve seen, but as a Christian and a film critic, I find them so actively offensive and cynical that it’s somehow even more depressing. I didn’t derive any joy from the process, but it felt important that I write about it.

The National Commission of Audit.s proposal to cease the $20 million international film incentives program is a nonsense.

William Hurt has replaced Bill Nighy in one of the key supporting roles in The Moon and the Sun, a fantasy/adventure which starts shooting in Paris next week and moves to Melbourne in mid-April.
Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, Bratz, Raise Your Voice) is directing the film based on a novel by Vonda McIntyre.
Pierce Brosnan heads the cast as King Louis Xiv, who is determined to protect the future of France by reigning for all eternity. His search for immortality leads him to capture and steal the life force from a mermaid, but soon his 18-year-old illegitimate daughter discovers the mystical creature and strikes up a friendship with her.
Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing portrays the mermaid, a Gollum-type digital creation. Kaya Scodelario (TV.s Skins) plays the daughter, Marie-Josephe. Hurt is Pere La Chaise, spiritual adviser to the king. The producers said Nighy dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.

Taking care of some items on her to-do list, Hilary Duff ran errands on Tuesday (January 7) in Beverly Hills.
The "Raise Your Voice" beauty had to keep an eye on her little man Luca, as he toddled next to her while she toted coffee and snacks from La Conversation Cafe.
As she looks to make a return to the music industry, the 26-year-old has ruled out at least one angle- she will not change her style.
Though she acknowledges the current trend of raunchy behavior and provocative outfits, Hilary says she will not go down a path that does not fit her personality.

Scouting locations for The Moon and the Sun, a fantasy/adventure film starring Pierce Brosnan, Bill Nighy and Fan Bing Bing, the producers weighed offers from a number of countries.
Victoria won out thanks to a combination of the location offset, state rebate, quality of the crews and the expertise of VFX houses, according to Paul Currie, who is one of the principal producers alongside Pandemonium Films. Bill Mechanic.
Budgeted at $US40 million, the film will shoot for two weeks in Versailles, France in March, then move to Australia in April using the stages of Docklands Studios and locations throughout Victoria.

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has paid tribute to actor Johnny Lewis following his sudden death on Wednesday, insisting he was a talented guy who simply "lost his way".
Katy Perry with her tragic ex, Johnny Lewis, in 2006
The former series star is fell or jumped to his death outside a Los Angeles home just days after his release from jail for assault with a deadly weapon and just months after being sentenced to serve 291 days in prison on first degree burglary charges.
Police officials suspect he killed his 81-year-old landlady, Catherine Davis, and a pet cat before he died, and they claim the actor, who played Kip 'Half-Sack' Epps on the show until 2009, was under the influence of a drug like Phencyclidine (Pcp) or methamphetamine at the time of the killings.
Now Sutter has opened up about the tragedy, confessing he knew the actor was on a deadly downward spiral.

The more details are released about the death of Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis and the woman assumed to be his landlady, 81-year-old Katherine Davis, the more shivers we’re getting all day. To recap, Lewis was found dead on the driveway of a house in Los Feliz on Wednesday morning after falling from the roof, and Davis was found killed by blunt force trauma inside her home. A neighbor and a handyman were reportedly badly beaten by Lewis with a blunt object after they arrived at the scene, responding to calls for help from the woman. Here are all the new and disturbing things we’ve learned since then:
Davis was found on the second floor of her ransacked three level house in a “gruesome scene,” and her cat was found dead nearby, Lapd Commander Andrew Smith said in a press conference. Lewis had been released from prison just six days ago,...

Another actor death today but this time in utterly bizarre and tragic circumstances.
28-year-old actor Johnny Lewis, who recently finished stints in both rehab and jail, was found dead in a driveway Wednesday morning in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles reports TMZ.
Lewis allegedly beat his 81-year-old landlady to death in her home, and then had either fallen or jumped off the roof to his death.
It's presently unclear whether drugs or alcohol are involved at this time, but it's thought Lewis also killed a cat, ransacked the house and got into a fight with two neighbours after the murder but before his own death.
Circumstances around the deaths were still being investigated, but law enforcement sources believe Lewis was high on Pcp or crystal meth at the time.

Whether or not you consider yourself a fan of the theater, there is one moment from last night's 2011 Tony Award that everyone should see: Neil Patrick Harris rapping a wrap up of the awards. Watch below:
While fans of "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog" know that Harris can sing, how exactly did the "How I Met Your Mother" star manage to perform a fully-formed rap complete with references to the evening's winners, Frances McDormand's acceptance speech and Brooke Shields' flub? Did they wrestle the briefcase of tabulated results off the arm of some suit from an accountant's office? Nope. The show's producers tapped into the vast resources of the Great White Way and brought in some experts. Writer-star Lin-Manuel Miranda and director Tommy Kail, both of "In the Heights" fame, holed up in the basement of the Beacon Theater and wrote the rap really really quickly while the show played on.

As she says later in our interview, Hilary Duff likes a good challenge. The number of former child and teen stars who manage to sustain their success into their twenties, as Duff undeniably has, are few enough already, but even rarer are those who then develop into serious adult actors. Slowly, though, and almost under the radar, Hilary Duff has been turning in noteworthy, character-rich performances in a variety of lower-budgeted independent films, including According to Greta andStay Cool, both released in 2009. And, in this writer's opinion, Duff's strongest onscreen work to date is hitting theaters this week, with her nuanced turn as a good-hearted, but troubled, teen in the Southern gothic family drama Bloodworth.

Are you there, God? Please make the Sister Act musical, which starts previews at the Broadway Theatre tonight, a half-decent homage to the Whoopi Goldberg film that briefly made catechism cool in 1992. Deliver it from the mostly tepid reviews that met its 2009 London debut. Let Xanadu’s Douglas Carter Beane, who officially joined the creative team last month (but tells EW he’d been working on the play since November) have added the laughs that British critics claimed the book by Emmy-winning Cheers writers Cheri and Bill Steinkellner lacked. And have faith that he didn’t touch what they liked about it: Its heart.

A closer look at Carrie Underwood as youth leader Sarah Hill in "Soul Surfer" has come out in the form of a brand new clip. When Bethany and her friends gather together for a Rad nite, Sarah gives an understanding to the youth group why sometimes they need to change their perspective about God's plan.
Aside from the Carrie-featuring clip, another snippet has also been made available for viewing pleasure. It takes the focus on Bethany and her father, portrayed by AnnaSophia Robb and Dennis Quaid. While she still lays in her hospital bed, her father assures her that she will surf again soon, telling her that she can do anything.
Based on the true story, "Soul Surfer" follows surfer Bethany Hamilton as she overcomes the odds of becoming a champion after losing an arm in a shark attack at age 13. Helen Hunt is in supporting role as Bethany's mother.

Hilary Duff can have extra cupcake frosting and whatever kind of sprinkles she wants today, as it's her birthday. The actress and singer is now 23 years old, and if that seems especially young, it's because Duff has been an active participant in pop culture since the premiere of the Disney Channel original series "Lizzie McGuire" in 2001 (when she was only 13). Since then, she has established herself as a top-shelf actress (starring in hits like "A Cinderella Story," "Cheaper by the Dozen" and "Raise Your Voice") and singer (having logged hits like "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean," which also served as the theme song to the hit MTV show "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County").
Though she hasn't released new music since 2007's Dignity (a much more mature sounding album that incorporated elements of rock, hip-hop and dance music and dealt with the end of her relationship with Joel Madden as...

Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, AnnaSophia Robb and Carrie Underwood are set to star in Sean McNamara's indie drama "Soul Surfer," a film about surfing champion Bethany Hamilton and her shark attack.
Robb will play the central character, according to Variety. She plats Hamilton, who went on to win professional surfing championships after losing one arm in a shark attack when she was 13 years old.
Hunt and Quaid are on board to play her parents, while Underwood play a church youth leader (one that probably sings). McNamara, Deborah Schwartz, Douglas Schwartz and Michael Berk wrote the script.
"Surfer" is already shooting. McNamara also helmed "Raise Your Voice" and "Bratz." Quaid can now be seen in "Legion." Robb starred in "Race to Witch Mountain," and for Underwood, this will be her film debut.

A heart-shaped cupcake and a copy of the "Raise Your Voice" DVD to Hilary Duff today, as she'll be celebrating her 22nd birthday today. Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers and whoever else is currently cashing checks on Disney crossover careers should buy Duff a shot today, as she was the guinea pig for the current crop of breakout stars currently enjoying success in the worlds of television, film and music. Duff first came to the attention of the populace as Lizzie McGuire, the feisty teen kid with an animated alter-ego (or something) on the show of the same name. Her ubiquity on what became the Disney Channel's flagship program allowed her to make the jump into movies, where she starred in hits like "A Cinderella Story" and "Agent Cody Banks." Her music career followed soon after, debuting with 2003's Metamorphosis. 2004 must have been a special year for Duff, as her second,...
