Few actors have a career in the film industry that is as decorated as Gene Hackman’s. Having worked as an actor for over six decades, he has been a part of some of the finest films to have ever been released, and he has been awarded fruitfully for his work. From Oscars to Golden Globes, Gene Hackman has got them all.

Since the first one is always more special than the rest, his first win at the Academy Awards came with the 1972 film The French Connection, though he had been nominated twice before. While the film should hold a special place in his heart, it quickly became one of his biggest regrets, thanks to the fact that it ended up typecasting him in Hollywood.

Scott Cooper’s horror thriller “Antlers” is finally ready to trot.
The Searchlight Pictures release, delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, will bow as the closing night film of the annual Beyond Fest. After, it will continue rolling out at global genre festivals, including Fantastic Fest, the Telluride Horror Show and Sitges Film Festival.
The tour will conclude with a domestic theatrical release on Oct. 29.
“I made ‘Antlers’ as a communal theatrical experience for cinema lovers,” said director and co-writer Cooper. “I can’t think of a more apt series of screenings to launch our film before audiences across the globe — audiences whom I hope share an appreciation for horror films with a different perspective on our everyday fears and ancestral mythology.”
Cooper, whose credits include “Hostiles” and “Crazy Heart,” helms the pic, produced by Guillermo del Toro, David S. Goyer (“The Night House”) and J. Miles Dale of the upcoming “Nightmare Alley.

Exclusive: Ten years ago this week, James Cameron big gambit payed off with the historic release of Avatar, a truly singular screen spectacle that took moviegoers to distant Pandora and in the process “changed the way we thought about movies, the way we thought about movie-making, even the way we thought about the movie screen,” says Stephen Lang, who memorably portrayed the 1999 sci-fi epic’s glowering heavy, Col. Miles Quaritch.
Lang returns to the military-man role in Cameron’s long-awaited sequel, Avatar 2, which Disney-owned 20th Century Fox has now scheduled for release one year from this Saturday: Dec. 21, 2021. That means Avatar 2’s opening weekend will arrive seven years later than Cameron’s originally announced target date, which makes the interplanetary saga the cinematic equivalent of a Guns N’ Roses album.

A spiritual descendant of the story set in Victorian-era London, the next chapter will employ a new vision, new characters and storylines. It looks like we can be expecting a new Blade Runner movie to hit theaters in the next few years. Warner Bros-based Alcon Entertainment (the financing and production company behind The Blind Side and The Book of Eli) are currently in final discussions to secure film, television, and ancillary franchise rights to develop prequels and sequels to Ridley Scott‘s classic 1982 sci-fi film.
I just want to point out that the deal exclude rights to remake the original film, so you will not see a remake of Blade Runner.
I've always wanted to see more movies made based on the world of Blade Runner. Hopefully they will end up being worthy of the film that Scott created and live up to the expectations of the fans. That's not going to be an easy thing to do, and I'm sure not everyone will be happy with the outcome. Moon director Duncan Jones...

[1] Warner Bros-based Alcon Entertainment (the financing and production company behind The Blind Side and The Book of Eli) are in final discussions to secure film, television and ancillary franchise rights to produce prequels and sequels to Ridley Scott's iconic 1982 science-fiction film Blade Runner. Not many details are known about the situation, but we have been told the following: Alcon’s franchise rights would be all-inclusive, but exclude rights to remake the original. The Company, however, may produce projects based on situations introduced in the original film. The project would be distributed domestically by Warner Bros. International rights are yet to be determined. So don't expect to see a remake of the original movie. It is also unclear if they have any screenplay or treatments for possible projects. You might recall that Eagle Eye screenwriters Travis Wright and John Glenn were paid to explore a potential secret sequel [2] from 2003-...
