The CCH stands for Carol Christine Hilaria, her birth name. Most of her characters are enriched with positive attributes -- strength, confidence, integrity, strong-mindedness -- and it is a testament to the abilities of this four-time Emmy nominated actress that she continues on such a high plane in a five-decade career.
Born on Christmas Day 1952 in Guyana, she was raised on a sugar cane plantation. Her parents, Betsy Enid Arnella (James) and Ronald Urlington Pounder, moved the family to the States while she was still a young girl, but she and her sister were subsequently sent to a convent boarding school in Britain where they were introduced to art and the classics. Following high school graduation, she arrived in New York and studied at Ithaca College, where her acting talents were strongly tapped into. Regional and classical repertory theater followed, earning roles in such productions as "The Mighty Gents" (1979) with Morgan Freeman at the New York Shakespeare Festival and "Open Admissions" (1984), her Broadway debut. Other stage work includes "Coriolanus," "Antony and Cleopatra," "The Frog," "The Lodger" and "Mumbo Jumbo."
After bit/featured roles in All That Jazz (1979), I'm Dancing as Fast as I Can (1982) and Prizzi's Honor (1985), CCH earned cult status in the art-house film Bagdad Cafe (1987) (aka "Bagdad Café" in the US) as the offbeat owner of a roadside café. She continued to impress with support roles in Postcards from the Edge (1990), The Importance of Being Earnest (1992), an all-black version: as Miss Prism), Benny & Joon (1993), RoboCop 3 (1993), Sliver (1993), Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight (1995),Face/Off (1997), Funny Valentines (1999), The Devil in Miss Jones 6 (1999), Baby of the Family (2002), Rain (2008), Orphan (2009), Avatar (2009) (as the voice of Mo'at, and its sequels), My Girlfriend's Back (2010). Home Again (2012) (as a Jamaican) and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013).
Pounder's prominence came, however, with television. Often cast as succinct, professional types (doctors, policewoman, judges) or characters with a variety of accents, she is known for her understated intensity and earned an Emmy nomination for her stint on the hospital drama ER (1994). She has also performed in a number of highly acclaimed topical mini-movie dramas, including Go Tell It on the Mountain (1985), Common Ground (1990), Murder in Mississippi (1990), Little Girl Fly Away (1998), A Touch of Hope (1999), Boycott (2001), Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story (2004) (as Winnie Mandela) for which a number of kudos have come her way.
Millennium TV output includes regular/recurring roles on the series The Shield (2002) in which she earned an NAACP Award and Emmy nomination as Detective Claudette Wym; the social drama Ciencias del espacio (2008) as matriarch Mrs. Trainor, and NCIS: New Orleans (2014) as medical examiner Loretta Wade. She later found voice work in animated projects and video games.- Actress

Rhona Fox is a dynamic Indian-American actress. Born in Essequibo, Guyana, Fox was raised in Nassau, Bahamas, where her parents who are teachers, moved to secure a better life for her and her two brothers. After graduating high school at 16, she journeyed to New York for a summer vacation and the rest was destiny. Enrolling in college there, the Big Apple remains home and work today.
After attaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, Fox spent the first seven years of her career as an award-winning News Promotion Producer at ABC and FOX news affiliates, before becoming the Editor-In-Chief of Jamrock Magazine, a then nationally-published Caribbean lifestyle and entertainment magazine. Ultimately, she parlayed her extensive professional media experience into launching a music media-marketing firm aptly named FOX FUSE, representing clients such as Pitbull, Lil Jon and Shaggy. In 2011, FOX FUSE evolved into a worldwide digital music distributor, thereby bringing Caribbean music to the global audience in a larger way, and its new direction and management allowed for Fox to fully embark on an acting career.
Working in entertainment offered a natural transition into acting for Fox, who told her mother since she was a five-year-old in Guyana that she will become an actress one day. Being surrounded by opportunities in New York forced her to make the leap towards fulfilling her ultimate dream. Fox's first acting gig placed her on the set of the Roc-A-Wear 10th Anniversary commercial in August 2009, where she was directed by Spike Lee. Ever since then, she was truly bitten by the acting bug. She was cast as the principal in a regional TV promotion for cross-branding between iPod and 'Seinfeld' for its syndication on FOX, appearing as the wacky, dancing Elaine character from 'Seinfeld.' She also received print placement atop the national Yahoo.com homepage, appearing as a dentist in Yahoo's top story. Additionally, Fox gained priceless experience by working as a stand-in for the top Indian actresses in Hollywood, including Priyanka Chopra in Quantico (ABC), Mindy Kaling in The Mindy Project (FOX), Archie Panjabi in The Good Wife (CBS), and Reshma Shetty in Royal Pains (USA).
Fox scored her first speaking role in the pilot of the 'Untitled Wall Street Project,' acting in a scene opposite Maggie Grace in the John Cusack-fronted drama series for CBS. She was handpicked by Martin Scorsese to be featured in the final shot of his blockbuster flick 'The Wolf Of Wall Street,' where she was directed by the iconic director himself. She also had minor roles in 'Law & Order' (NBC) and 'Made In Jersey' (CBS), where the director liked her name and had it added to the script for her character's name. Fox is currently developing independent projects along with other upcoming talents and has several feature and short film projects in production.
In June 2013, Fox received The Rising Sun Award at the Caribbean Heritage Organization's 'Tribute to Hollywood & The Arts Gala' in Universal City, California, where she was recognized as the emerging actor of Caribbean heritage for that year. In October 2013, she was celebrated with the coveted cover story for GEM (Guyana Entertainment Magazine) for its "Guyana's 40 Under 40" edition, and has been featured in all the national publications in her native country. In June 2012, she was honored with the prestigious Golden Arrowhead Award from Guyana, during a ceremony hosted by the Guyana Consulate in New York City. She has also been presented with a Proclamation from the City of New York for her contributions to the arts.
In addition to pursuing her acting dreams, Fox enjoys a vegan and cruelty-free lifestyle, and her hobbies include cooking up vegan creations in the kitchen, reading, writing and rooting for her favorite sports teams. She continues to hone her craft and looks forward to more opportunities to define herself as an actress, as well as an ambassador for her Caribbean culture and people.- Soundtrack
