Scott Vincent James Baio was born on September 22, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the third child of Mario and Rose Baio, who had emigrated from Italy. At the young age of nine, Scott decided that he wanted to be an actor. Soon after, his parents took him on interviews and he was able to land in small roles in commercials. His first real taste of success occurred in 1976 when he beat out 2,000 other child actors for the starring role in the child gangster film Bugsy Malone (1976). The following year, Scott's popularity soared after he was chosen for the role of Chachi Arcola, The Fonz's cousin, on the ABC sitcom Happy Days (1974). Soon after, Scott's parents moved him to Hollywood to help him keep up with the demands of his acting career. Throughout his stint on Happy Days (1974) from 1977 to 1984, Scott still managed to appear in several films, including Skatetown U.S.A. (1979), Foxes (1980) and Zapped! (1982) and even starred in three other short-lived sitcoms (Blansky's Beauties (1977), Who's Watching the Kids (1978), and the "Happy Days" spin-off Joanie Loves Chachi (1982)). This exposure helped him become a major teen idol in the early 1980s.
After Happy Days (1974) went off the air in 1984, Scott moved to CBS where he was given the starring role on the sitcom Charles in Charge (1984). He played a college student who was hired to watch over three children. After one season on CBS, the series was retooled and moved to first-run syndication where it ran successfully from 1987 to 1990. Since Charles in Charge (1984) ended, Scott has been able to stay busy, albeit with a relatively lower profile. He has had starring roles on Baby Talk (1991) and Diagnosis Murder (1993) and guest starring roles on Veronica's Closet (1997) and Arrested Development (2003). He has even tried his hand behind the camera, directing episodes of The Wayans Bros. (1995) and Unhappily Ever After (1995).
Offscreen, Scott has made a few headlines as well. In 1997, he was rumored to have died in a car accident, but this was quickly declared as false. He has gained a reputation for dating several high-profile (mostly blonde) actresses, most notably Pamela Anderson, Heather Locklear and former co-star Nicole Eggert. In 2007, VH1 played this reputation into a reality series called Scott Baio Is 45... And Single (2007). On the show, he meets with a life coach to try and find reasons why he is still single. In order to accomplish this, he must revisit his ex-girlfriends (including Erin Moran and Julie McCullough) to find out what went right and what went wrong in the relationships. Follwing the completion of the first season, he announced that his girlfriend, Renee Baio, was pregnant with his first child. On November 2, 2007, she gave birth to a baby girl, Bailey Deluca.- Actress

Toni Basil began her career as a dancer and assistant choreographer, working on such shows as Hullabaloo (1965) choreographed by David Winters. Later, she choreographed the hit film American Graffiti (1973) and also began appearing in films, including the now-classic Easy Rider (1969). After several films, she launched her music career with her first album, "Word of Mouth", in 1981, which was released both as a record and a video, quite an innovation at the time. Culled from that album was a innocent little ditty called "Mickey", which soon became a massive hit all over the world, first in Britain. The song topped the American music charts in December 1982, and the video (directed by Basil, as were all of her others) still receives airplay, today. In 1984, Toni Basil's self-titled follow-up album was released, which included the American Top 40 hit "Over My Head". Although she found future chart success elusive, Basil remained busy appearing in such films as Rockula (1990) and has appeared in a guest shot on Baywatch (1989) in the late 1990s. Her choreographer talents have also been utilized lately by superstars Bette Midler and David Bowie and, in 1998, she choreographed a successful ad for "The Gap".- Isis Hainsworth was born on 22 September 1998 in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Academy Award-winning actor John Houseman's main contribution to American culture was not his own performances on film but rather, his role as a midwife to one of the greatest actor-directors-cinematic geniuses his adopted country ever produced (Orson Welles) and as a midwife to a whole generation of actors as head of the drama division of the Juilliard School.
Houseman was born Jacques Haussmann on September 22, 1902 in Bucharest, Romania, to May (Davies) and Georges Haussmann, who ran a grain business. His father was from an Alsatian Jewish family, and his mother, who was British, was of Welsh and Irish descent. John was raised in England, where he was educated. He emigrated to America in 1925, establishing himself in New York City, where he directed "Four Saints in Three Acts" for the theater in 1934. He founded the Mercury Theatre along with Orson Welles (whom he affectionately called "The Dog-Faced Boy"). Their most important success was a modern-dress version of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar", in which the spectre of Hitler and Mussolini's Fascist states were evoked.
As a producer assigned to Unit 891 of the Federal Theater Project funded by the government's Works Progress Administration, he produced the legendary production "Cradle Will Rock", a musical about the tyranny of capitalism, with music by Marc Blitzstein, creative input from Welles, and starring leftists Howard Da Silva and Will Geer. The production was so controversial, it was banned before its debut, although the did manage to stage one performance. On Broadway, apart from the Mercury Theatre and the WPA, Houseman directed "The Devil and Daniel Webster" (1939) and "Liberty Jones" and produced "Native Son" (1941). During World War II, Houseman went to work for the Office of War Information and was involved in broadcasting radio propaganda for the Voice of America. After the war, Houseman returned to directing and produced Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's version of Julius Caesar (1953).
He had produced his first film, Orson Welles' Too Much Johnson (1938), while with the Mercury Theatre. He was involved with the pre-production of Citizen Kane (1941) but fell out with Welles due to Welles' already legendary ego. He produced a score of major films and was involved in three television series before devoting his life to teaching. He helped establish the acting program at New York's famous Julliard School for the Arts, where he influenced a new generation of actors. Ironically, he had appeared in only one major movie, in a supporting role, before being tapped to replace James Mason in The Paper Chase (1973). He won an Academy Award for the role and began a 15-year career as a highly sought after supporting player.
John Houseman, who wrote three volumes of memoirs, "Run-Through" (1972), "Front and Center" (1979) and "Final Dress" (1983), died at age 86 on October 31, 1988 after making major contributions to the theater and film.- Actor

Asa was born as Virginia Maynor. She made her motion picture debut as the female lead in Man Beast (1956), a low-budget creature feature in which an expedition to the Himalayas is attacked and mostly wiped out by irate Yetis (they may have just wanted some privacy). Later, producers changed her stage moniker to Asa, because her birth name sounded too similar to that of established Hollywood star Virginia Mayo. 'Man Beast' was hardly the ideal launching platform for a budding starlet, thus Asa found herself quickly relegated to the supporting cast. By 1961, she began to concentrate on TV work and became ultimately best known as the stewardess who tries to calm an unhinged passenger (played by William Shatner) in the iconic The Twilight Zone (1959) episode 'Nightmare at 20,000 Feet'. She guested in several other early 60s shows, including Mike Hammer (1958) (as a floozy named 'Ginger Snap'), Perry Mason (1957), Hawaiian Eye (1959) and McHale's Navy (1962), before making her screen swansong in the small part of Mrs. Riley in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972).
Asa Maynor married the actor Edd Byrnes in March 1962. At the time, Byrnes was especially popular with younger audiences for his role as the jive-talking parking lot attendant 'Kookie' in TV's 77 Sunset Strip (1958). They had a son, Logan Byrnes, who went on to graduate from USC and had a successful career in broadcast journalism. As for Asa, she filed for divorce from Edd in 1971, citing as reason 'his reliance on drugs and alcohol'.
After her retirement from acting, Asa reinvented herself as an interior designer. In the 1990's, she worked in the entertainment industry again as an executive with NBC.- Mark Patton was raised in Riverside, Missouri, a Suburb of Kansas City. His first interest, starting at age 8, was in gymnastics. By his high school years, he had excelled in the Junior Olympics. But acting had also begun to interest him. Mark began studying in his high school's drama department and soon found himself appearing in Emlyn Williams's "Night Must Fall" and John Guare's "House of Blue Leaves" for the Missouri Repertory Company. He also had an interest in country and western music, which his folks had always tried to encourage him to pursue.
After graduating high school, he flipped a coin to determine which would it be: New York or Nashville. It came up tails, and it was off to the Big Apple, where he landed weeks later with $132 in his pocket. He stayed at a Broadway hotel, and was able to find work almost immediately, first as a waiter and then, upon searching for an agent, work in advertisements and in off-Broadway productions.
In 1982 he landed a role on Broadway opposite Cher, Sandy Dennis, Kathy Bates, and Karen Black, playing a gay character, Joe Qualley. The play, written by Ed Graczyk and directed by Robert Altman was adapted into the film of the same title, Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982), which launched his Hollywood career. Graczyk wrote the screenplay and Altman again directed. The following year, he starred in Anna to the Infinite Power (1983) and appeared in a made-for-television movie, Kelsey's Son (1983), alongside Chuck Connors. Two years later, he landed the role in the sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985).
Patton, who had felt like an outsider and endured bullying at school, had been out about his homosexuality in New York, but Hollywood was a different, very homophobic, world. After appearing in "Nightmare 2", the public began to notice a gay subtext in the movie, which screenwriter David Chaskin purposefully included in the script. At the time, he denied it, blaming Patton for playing it "too gay".
He had received a request from the gay magazine "The Advocate" after making "Jimmy Dean", but was told he absolutely couldn't speak with a gay magazine, even though he had played a gay character. In 1987, he was cast to play a groundbreaking gay character on a major television network series, but was asked if he could play a gay character while telling people he was straight. Tired of the homophobia in Hollywood that was so different than the theatre scene in New York, Patton left acting and became a successful interior decorator.
While battling what he thought was bronchitis, Patton underwent tests that revealed he was HIV-positive, suffering from thrush, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. He was diagnosed on his 40th birthday, and three days later was in the hospital. His health slowly improved and he moved to Mexico where he met Hector Morales Mondragon, who would later become his husband.
In 2010, Patton was approached to appear in Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010), a documentary about the Elm Street franchise. He learned that "Nightmare 2" had become a cult classic among both horror fans and the LGBT community, being celebrated as one of the gayest horror films of all time. Patton agreed to appear in the documentary and was finally able to be truthful about his sexuality. Screenwriter Chaskin finally admitted that he had included the gay subtext.
Since that time, he is lauded as the first "male scream queen" while touring horror conventions all over the world. He sells t-shirts with some of the "gayer" lines from the film - "He's inside me, and he wants to take me again!" - along with the derogatory ones, such as "Jesse is a Homo". He donates much of the money he makes from his appearances to HIV treatment organizations and charities for LGBT youth such as The Trevor Project.
As of 2013, he and his husband own an art store in Puerto Vallarta where Patton sells some of his own work, including a line of painted handbags he designed. - Actor
