Scarlett Johansson has been an A-list talent for many years and has starred in a diverse range of films over the years. The actress has confidently proven that she can be a part of franchises like the MCU and also do smaller character-driven dramas like Marriage Story. The actress has also faced a lot of problems professionally where she had to take legal action.

Johansson infamously filed a lawsuit against Disney in 2021 regarding the controversial day and date release of her 2021 MCU film Black Widow, which was resolved. Now, the actress is embroiled in another controversy where she is calling out Open AI for using a voice similar to hers named Sky. Updated, 4:15 Pm: Something called “Sky” that sounds a lot like Scarlett Johansson’s voice no longer is on OpenAI, but the Her star says there’s a lot more behind the story.
For one thing, she maintains that OpenAI founder Sam Altman was advised of the actor’s objections to the voice feature but still pushed forward with the update.
Hours after OpenAI dropped the interactive “Sky” voice, one of five in its ChatGPT update, Johansson put out a statement in her own voice, literally and figuratively. It details her account of events, in which Altman sought permission to use her tones, got rejected, but moved ahead anyway – at least until lawyers were called in.
Here is Johansson’s full statement:
Last September, I received an offer from Sam Altman, who wanted to hire me to voice the current ChatGPT 4.0 system. He told me that he felt that by my voicing the system,...

OpenAI is pausing the use of a voice named Sky that is part of a new demo of ChatGPT 4.0’s Voice Mode. The emotive voice has been called out for sounding a little too similar to Scarlett Johansson’s A.I. character from the 2013 Spike Jonze film Her, and Johansson herself has now stated she is “shocked, angered and in disbelief” that the tech company would use “a voice that sounded so eerily similar to mine” — especially after she declined their offer to hire her to be the voice.
Saturday Night Live highlighted the Johansson similarity during its Season 49 finale Saturday.

As in recent finale episodes, Michael Che and Colin Jost wrote each other’s jokes during the Weekend Update segment in this year’s Season 49 finale. The idea is “to give each other fun jokes, almost supportive jokes, that would never ruin our summer or career,” Jost explained. Though, of course, the exercise devolved into the most giggly affair as the two comedians read provocative lines that would otherwise be deemed tasteless.

Michael Che wasn’t lying when he said that the woman he introduced as “Rabbi Jill” on this week’s Saturday Night Live is a real Rabbi.
In what’s become a tradition on SNL’s Weekend Update, Colin Jost and Michael Che participated in a “Joke Swap” for the show’s Season 49 finale, where the two comics read distasteful jokes the other has written for them, sight unseen. As part of the duo’s last Joke Swap in December 2023, Che brought out a woman he introduced as a civil rights leader before having Jost read a series of racist jokes. That woman, it turned out, was an actress.
Che admitted as much at the top of this week’s new Joke Swap. “Before we start, last time we did this I hired an actress to pretend to be a civil rights hero, and that was low.

There are a plenty of longtime Saturday Night cast members, yet there were no big exits — or hints of departures — on tonight’s Season 49 finale of the venerable NBC late-night program.
No SNL veterans were tearing up at the end of their sketches like Kate McKinnon did in the 2022 finale, it was all smiles and fist bumps at the curtain call, and, after another brutal joke swap, Colin Jost and Michael Che wrapped their 10th season together on Weekend Update by wishing everyone a great summer.
This was to be expected, given that no one from this year’s 17-strong troupe would willingly miss next year’s big celebrations – The Big 50.
Host Jake Gyllenhaal set the stage for what is to come in his opening monologue, noting that the finale was “the last episode before the big anniversary season.”

Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update reacted to the planned presidential debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, as well as an especially viral exchange in the House of Representatives this week involving Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-ga).

Colin Jost and Michael Che continued their Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” tradition of swapping jokes and writing zingers for each other to say.
Che started by saying that the last time he tricked Jost into thinking he had invited a civil rights hero, “and that was low. So to make it up to you this time, I invited an actual, practicing rabbi.”
Jost started off by addressing the Jerry Seinfeld commencement speech at Duke where students were seen walking out.
“I think that’s disgraceful. During these difficult times it’s important to support our Jewish friends. That’s why the only chant you’ll hear from me is, ‘Free [Harvey] Weinstein!,'” Jost read.

Is “SNL” new tonight? Yes. NBC’s sketch comedy series airs its Season 49 finale on Saturday night with host Jake Gyllenhaal and musical guest Sabrina Carpenter. In the “SNL” promo video (watch above), cast member Bowen Yang remarks on Gyllenhaal’s “incredible” body in “Road House” and how it “inspired” his own fitness journey. “Yeah, it inspired me to stay skinny fat,” he jokes. “I ain’t doing all that, sucker!”
The regular cast members for “Saturday Night Live” Season 49 are, in credits order: Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson, Colin Jost, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson and Bowen Yang. The featured players are: Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, Chloe Troast and Devon Walker. There’s only one major Marvel movie coming out this year, and Scarlett Johansson’s husband was decidedly not pleased about that on this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live.” So, he made sure to give the studio a stern warning during Weekend Update.
Yes, obviously we’re talking about co-anchor Colin Jost. He and Johansson — who starred as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in the MCU — have been married since 2020 and share a son together. But, providing for the family wasn’t the issue Jost had in mind. He was thinking of another bill entirely.
During the week’s headlines, Jost pointed out that 2024 marked the first year since 2009 that a Marvel movie didn’t kick off the Summer movie season..
“Which better be a one-time thing because a lot of people rely on Marvel movies to pay for the ferries they bought,” Jost quipped.

Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment leaned into the brain worm that U.S. presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said got into his head.
Sarah Sherman had the honors of dressing up as a worm and took a jab at Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, who became known as “the worm with a mustache” after co-star James Kennedy yelled that out during the Season 10 reunion.
“Rfk’s body was a worm’s paradise,” Sherman said as the brain worm. “Not a single drop of vaccine in sight. My whole parasite posse hung out in there. Shoutout to hookworm… that fish that swims up your pee stream and my man, Tom Sandoval.”
Sandoval remains in infamy after his cheating scandal exploded into the mainstream. The Bravo star had been in an almost decade-long relationship with co-star Ariana Madix and was exposed to be having an affair with another co-star,...

Jerry Seinfeld made a memorable return to Saturday Night Live on its recent episode, joining the iconic “Weekend Update” segment. On “SNL,” a Weekend Update segment playfully poked fun at 20-year-old singer JoJo Siwa’s transformation into an edgier and more adult persona.

Donald Trump’s reaction to last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner shows the much-indicted ex-potus still sucks at being the butt of a joke.

Star couple Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost had a glamorous night out at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The couple attended the event in Washington D.C., where Jost was selected by the White House Correspondents’ Association to be the host for the organisation’s prestigious event.
Johannson wore a custom Giorgio Armani Prive white silk strapless column gown trimmed with crystals. Jost, meanwhile, chose a Giorgio Armani navy blue one-button peak lapel tuxedo trimmed in satin. He paired it with a white evening shirt and a bow tie, reports people.com.
The event, usually attended by the president and the first lady, helps raise money for the Whca, funds journalism scholarships, and honours recipients of the Whca’s professional journalism awards.
The dinner’s featured speaker has usually been a comedian, with names like Trevor Noah, Jimmy Kimmel, and Conan O’Brien hosting the annual dinner and roast in the past.

The annual White House Correspondents Dinner may be dubbed the inside-the-beltway “Nerd Prom” in some circles. Still, this year’s soirée, which took place on Saturday night at the Washington Hilton, was the hottest ticket in the nation’s capital — maybe the entire nation — as President Joe Biden and the First Lady sat alongside the Hollywood elite and senior government officials mingled with actors, rappers and rockers.
They were all gathered to toast free speech and watch the president and Saturday Night Live Colin Jost roast Donald Trump, the state of the media, and in a common theme of the night, the commander-in-chief’s age.
Before the event began, hundreds of protesters had gathered outside the Hilton in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington to confront attendees and encourage journalists to boycott the event. Joe Biden got in a few zingers at his rival Donald Trump, but he devoted a large part of his remarks to the serious threat to democracy.
“Donald has had a few tough days lately. You might call it stormy weather,” Biden quipped, referencing Trump’s current hush money trial.
The president also riffed on reports that Trump dozed off during his trial, calling him “sleepy Don.”
“Trump’s speech was so embarrassing, the statue of Robert E. Lee surrendered again,” he said.
The president, though, devoted a large chunk to his speech to warning of the threat to the democracy and the press’s role in a free society.

The president also riffed on reports that Trump dozed off during his trial, calling him “sleepy Don.”

“Saturday Night Live” comedian Colin Jost delivered a mixed bag of Trump zingers, media jokes and Biden age wisecracks in front of a demanding crowd Saturday at the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, but it took him until the last of his remarks to fully charm the assemblage of journalists and politicos who came to hear him roast the President and the Washington press corps.
Jost finished his remarks by telling President Joe Biden about his 95-year-old grandfather, a longtime fireman in Staten Island, N.Y, who voted Democrat in the 2020 presidential election even though that borough of New York City is known to favor Republicans.
“He voted for you, and the reason that he voted for you is because you’re a decent man,” Jost told Biden. “My grandpa voted for decency and decency is why we’re all here tonight.

It’s a long-standing love/hate relationship: Late-night TV and the White House Correspondents Dinner. It’s love because the reporters want to juice the event with laughs; but the romance sometimes goes sour because they often have trouble deciding: “Is that funny?”
The result? Whichever late-night star accepts the invitation to interrupt the din of political chatter and networking to deliver an array of topical jokes to a massive ballroom with poor acoustics and occasional clattering tableware is going to be hyper-aware that killing in this venue may refer not just to your act but also to your career.
So: Welcome Colin Jost!
For sure, the co-anchor of Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” is a totally logical choice, and his performance on this live Saturday night stage is something to look forward to. This weekend, Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che weighed in on Donald Trump’s abortion ban comments.
On Monday, Trump asserted that “he supports abortion laws being decided by the states instead of the federal government,” according to Che.
Che then went on a tangent, saying, “But why stop there? Why not go even smaller and leave it up to the counties or the city?”
“Or even better, take the government out of it completely and leave the choice about what women can do with their bodies and a person who knows what they could do with them the best — their husbands,” he added for comedic relief.
Jost added, “In a view on Truth Social, Donald Trump falsely said that Democrats support abortion up to the ninth month and beyond, saying the baby is executed at birth.”
“But he only thinks that happens because when Trump was a baby,...

After making a joke about Iowa Hawkeyes player Caitlin Clark retiring her jersey for an apron, Michael Che was roasted on the “Weekend Update” segment of “SNL” this week by none other than Clark.
Che opened the bit by saying, “University of Iowa announced that Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired.” With a smirk and a laugh, he added, “And replaced with an apron.” The crowd didn’t love the joke, and Che playfully said, “Whoa! Well, the WNBA draft is this Monday, and Iowa star Caitlin Clark is expected to be the number one pick. Here to comment is Caitlin Clark.”
To thunderous applause and cheers, Clark appeared at the Weekend Update desk smiling. She and Che sat waiting for the wild clapping to die down before she began roasting Che for his joke about her. “I am a fan, Caitlin, by the way,” Che said.

Michael Che was humbled by basketball star Caitlin Clark when she crashed Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment after the comedian made a sexist joke at her expense.
“The University of Iowa announced that basketball star Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired and replaced with an apron,” Che said.
Che then introduced the real Clark ahead of the WNBA draft, where she is expected to be the No. 1 pick overall.
“I am a fan, Caitlin, by the way,” Che told the future WNBA star.
“Really, Michael? Because I heard that little apron joke you did,” Clark clapped back.
Clark called out Che for making a lot of jokes about women’s sports, which the comedian tried to deny. Colin Jost chimed in to say, “It’s definitely a lot,” and exposed Che with a super-cut of his past jokes.
“Unlike Che, I support women,” Jost said, throwing his co-host under the bus.

“Weekend Update” hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che had plenty of jokes on last night’s “Saturday Night Live,” but the highlight came when they dug into Donald Trump’s $60 “God Bless the USA” Bibles.
Jost joked that the special edition book, which has a cut of sales going to the former president’s reelection campaign, is a bit different than your typical Christian Standard version. Trump’s Bible ends with “Jesus’ disciples storming Jerusalem to overturn the results of the crucifixion,” he said.
“Donald Trump has partnered with country music star Lee Greenwood to sell a $60 special edition of the Bible that also includes the Constitution, the lyrics to Greenwood’s ‘God Bless the USA’ and I assume God’s letter of resignation,” Jost joked, introducing the segment.
“This Bible is mostly the same,” he went on, “but Trump’s version ends with Jesus’ disciples storming Jerusalem to overturn the results of the crucifixion.

Colin Jost-Pete Davidson Staten Island Ferry Bar-Hotel-Restaurant Project Still Afloat, Says Partner
The Staten Island Ferry floating nightclub project of Colin Jost and Pete Davidson – the subject of at least one “guy who bought a boat” joke on Jost’s Weekend Update – might be a bit closer to setting sail, heavy emphasis on “might.”
In an interview with Curbed, Ron Castellano, the architect and partner of Davidson and Jost’s decommissioned ferry project, told Curbed this week that plans are still underway for what could be a $34 million renovation project that would turn the rusty ferry into a luxury oasis of bars, restaurants a maybe a hotel.
Jost and Davidson – famously Staten Islanders – rescue-purchased the soon-to-be junked vessel two years ago for just under $300,000, announcing plans for a floating entertainment vessel.
Since then, various media reports have suggested that the project was going no place fast, reports Castellano dismisses in the new interview.

Some concrete plans are actually starting to emerge for the decommissioned Staten Island ferry that Pete Davidson and Colin Jost bought back in 2022.
While the intent was to turn it into some kind of floating entertainment complex, for the past two years, the ferry has ostensibly just been sitting there. It’s been docked in Staten Island — where both Jost and Davidson grew up — and locals have reportedly said they haven’t seen anyone working on it.

Saturday Night Live stars Pete Davidson and Colin Jost finally have plans for the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry they bought in January 2022. The comedians purchased the boat in an auction for $280,000, according to The New York Times, and now have plans to turn it into a $34 million multi-functional venue, including hotel rooms, two restaurants, and six bars. Ron Castellano, an architect who is working with Jost and Davidson on the project, recently spoke with Curbed to provide an update on the ferry, which Davidson once referred to as “a life-long problem for me and Colin.” “It’s going to have a lot of things,” Castellano told the publication. “I think right now, we have six bars and two venues operated separately or combined. We have outdoor event space, we have restaurants — two restaurants. It’s a big boat, almost 300 feet long, 65,000 square feet. That’s one and a half times...

Many Hollywood celebrities end up buying things they regret because they were too intoxicated when they did it, but Pete Davidson and Colin Jost have finally found a purpose for their once-regretful purchase.

The SNL co-stars bought a decommissioned Staten Island ferry boat back in 2022, and it took them a long time to think about what to do with it. Davidson admitted they were not in their sober state when they signed up for it.

Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update took aim at Donald Trump’s verbal blunders and the GOP’s State of the Union rebuttal by Alabama Senator Katie Britt.
Reacting to how Trump had criticized President Joe Biden’s address to Congress Thursday, writing on Truth Social that “the words are not flowing smoothly out of his mouth,” co-anchor Colin Jost said in jest that “we can’t all speak with the effortless grace as Donald J. Trump.”
A clip then played of the former president having trouble getting through a...

Colin Jost and Michael Che poked fun at politics and pop culture on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment.
Jost dinged the story that a studio within 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where SNL is also housed, was infested with bed bugs. It was reported during the week that Studio 3A, where MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show is set, had to be evacuated due to an “unidentified insect.”
“For more on this story, everybody, look under your seat,” Jost joked.
Che went on to poke fun at Mike Tyson, saying that the boxer would have difficulty pronouncing Netflix, the place where his fight with Jake Paul will stream later this year.
Jost also didn’t pass on the opportunity to mock Republican Katie Britt following her strange State of the Union rebuttal.
“Those were all scenes from the one-woman show A Britt Much,” Jost joked. “It’s the play critics are calling,...

“Saturday Night Live” kicked off the March 9 episode mocking President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address — but more so, the Republican response. After Mikey Day’s Biden spoke to Congress and mocked House Speaker Mike Johnson shaking his head — “every time I say predecessor, Mike Johnson shakes his head like he just accidentally caught 30 seconds of the show ‘Euphoria'” — he threw it to Katie Britt, the Alabama senator.
With that, Scarlett Johansson appeared as Britt, stating, “Tonight I’ll be auditioning for the part of ‘Scary Mom.’ I’ll be performing an original monologue called ‘This Country is Hell.’”
Continuing to mock Britt’s speech, which was intensely criticized online, she went on to explain how she’s “not just a senator.”
“I’m a wife, a mother and the craziest bitch in the Target parking lot,” said Johansson. “I’m worried about the future of our...
