Carissa McQueen
- Script and Continuity Department
From a young age, Carissa was drawn to all forms of story, feeling strongly that the written word, visual mediums, song and dance each have an essential place in humanity. Professionally, though, Carissa's path to film has been wandering, studying English Literature at UCSB and subsequently completing an MA in Children's Literature at the University of Roehampton in London, UK. As a Gaucho, she interned with Magic Lantern Theater to create beyond-the-screen experiences of classic 35mm films such as "Alice through the Wall" (Alice in Wonderland paired with Pink Floyd's The Wall album). Carissa got her first taste of behind the scenes production with NME in London, assisting with image rights and product placement for major international brands. After several years working at a literary nonprofit and ad hoc script consultant, Carissa was tapped to serve as Script Supervisor on a debut feature film due to her keen eye for detail, lightning fast mind, and passion for storytelling. Through 9 feature films and nearly a dozen shorts, Carissa has developed a reputation for being a highly collaborative partner in the filmmaking process, acting as a sounding board for the director and a trusted resource for the cinematographer.
